navetsea
Hi, This is my first finished piece in 2009, it is a manual sketch, colored in photoshop, with normal mouse. I use other people brush to make the rough background, and I make my own brush to color/ render the character. a full resolution, or even print can be seen/purchased at my devart page here http://navetsea.deviantart.com/art/Seven-118359128

navetsea
thanks BTW which hand has problem, the left on the screen or his left?
Otter
You're a great colorist! I agree that the character's right hand looks a little akward, and I also think his left shoulder feels a little odd. I think it'd be interesting to see the original sketch!
Creed Bratton
thanks BTW which hand has problem, the left on the screen or his left? The one which he uses to grab his balls. That's the problem. Great work though Left shoulder (from our point of view) is a little low, you could raise it.
navetsea
oh I see, the rendering on the back of his hand, where the finger bones meet the wrist, they are a bit distorted there, because it lack shadows, it is facing abit forward that's why the hand looks shorter, I need to add more creases around the wrist to give hint about direction. I'll have a closer look on the shoulders, and see what can be done

Trows
You're a great colourist! This! The perspective and proportions are a bit off, but you've done a fantastic job with your colour selection and shading, and especially doing it with a mouse! No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.
navetsea
"No, they're saying it looks like he's grabbing his balls with his left hand" well I can't do anything about that, wait... maybe I can add something like a can of coke or beer there "This! The perspective and proportions are a bit off, but you've done a fantastic job with your colour selection and shading, and especially doing it with a mouse!" thanks, my style is somewhere between manga and realistic proportion. I need to learn a lot about perspective it's true, that's why I try challenging poses with some foreshortening

navetsea
here is my latest WIP, sketched on paper, colored (or painted over since I have changed the face so much) in Photoshop, with normal mouse (for most of the parts) and tablet for the flowing loose hair only. I've been away from GTA modding these several weeks because I suddenly felt insecure about my drawing ability since I didn't really draw or paint any finished piece since november last year, so I stopped modding those reskin peds, and tried to draw on paper, and color it from scratch instead of messing around with R* faces. finished piece would be updated later & on my devart page

Pico
Very nice! As I said before, you've got a great style of drawing. I'm jealous!
navetsea
Thanks , she is not based on a real person, and during the coloring process, I changed her face so much that's why the sketch line is completely buried under the color layers, sometime the original sketch need to be changed during the coloring because the nose line is too much or the eyes are too big, quite hard to draw something while imagining how it would look after being colored, when I make a sketch I can't think of a real person face, all I think is a hot anime/comic/manga face, but then it doesn't match my coloring style most of the time I draw the mouth line too close to the nose without thinking how thick her upper lips need to be, and the eyebrows too low/ close to her eyes, since on B/W sketch it looked better that way, but after I started coloring then I saw these troubles, and then the next time I draw I still do the same mistakes, maybe since I started by learning to draw manga style (of late 80's early 90's) like that Fist of The North Star and Ghost in the shell and City Hunter, and never have any proper education in real body facial proportion
