atheistsw
Why the hell is there a option to kick the host of a game? I've lost count now of the amount of times i've been kicked because i'm waiting for more than 2 people to join/won't use auto-aim/feel like using vehicles in races other than sodding supercars.. the list goes on and on. This shouldn't be an option. If you don't like my room, sod off, no ones forcing you to stay, but getting kicked from YOUR OWN GODDAMN GAME is freaking ridiculous!! Hydro_PT
I agree, but what else can you do? :\ Just try to play with people you already know. It's the best thing.
Arcturus
Often, you'll be in a room with a lot of players, take deathmatch for example. Everyone is ready, and the host just sits there. Hes there for about 5 minutes doing nothing about it. You and all the other players damn sure do not feel like leaving, so you can vote to kick him and get on with the game. Thats one of the reasons. Enjoii
As with any vote system (votekick from CS:S, anyone?) there are advantages and disadvantages. Arcturus stated one of the advantages of the system but there are more, it's just unfortunate that it can also be abused by people in the situations that the OP described. Very true... I would add that sometimes the host is idle cuz...well...he isn't actually there anymore. the other night I weas playing with a friend (from here actually) and he was hosting but had to go. I saw the little message that he had went offline, yet his name was still in the lobby as host. I stayed for a few minutes, watching ppl get increasingly irritated that he would not click in and start the game. So, this proves that not ALL the hosts that are are idle are assholes or off making a sandwich...with the many ways you can get disconnected from MP, I think that most of them have been booted in one way or another. Without the ability to kick the host, you would have to jump to another lobby...increasing YOUR risk of getting booted yourself.
