atheistsw Posted April 6, 2009 Share Posted April 6, 2009 Nearly a year GTA4 has been out now, and apart from a trophy patch there's been NOTHING added for us. Now I get Microsoft have paid silly money for DLC exclusivity but come on, not even an extra online game mode or a bloody patch to improve the online matchmaking? I've just found out that the X-Box got a patch for that ages ago, but it seems as we can't fill they're coffers any further we'll have to sing for our supper and put up with a sub-standard experience. Shame on you rockstar, we supported you for years on PS2 before Bill Gates got his claws into you, I bought GTA3, GTA: VC and GTA:SA as well as GTA4 and you might as well take a dump on me with your shoddy support for PS3. It's pathetic that even after all this time getting a decently sized game on any mode is a test of patience (which many GTA players lack) and sheer luck that your stupid matchmaking service should recognise our game needs extra players. I really want to play a 16 player deathmatch, or team deathmatch, but I can't and never have since the game has come out. Most games end up with about 6-8 players, then half leave after a few minutes. If anyone from R* EVER comes on here and reads these boards then I implore you not to forget about us PS3 users, plenty of us still play online (it's a damn good game after all) so don't abbandon us for the land of the RROD's. AS the child gets older (GTA III, GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas) things are good, and the child is happy. Then R* decides to adopt two foster kids (X-box & PC), The original child thinks "Ok, now I got new friends to play with!" But no, the original child is isolated from the adopted kids. Then, as time goes by, R* poors ALL its attention to the step kids...sure, they still 'feed and house' the original kid, but the step kids get all the best toys and all the best clothes.. Without the Playstation, I doubt it would exist today. ...is all I am saying. That's how I feel too. GTA really picked up its popularity when it came into the PlayStations hands. I don't even think there drifting away at all either. If anyone gets a 5 million dollar deal or whatever for the DLC, they'll take it. Playstation still has LCS and VCS to themselves. Things like, actual cash bonuses for winning a game. I mean there is no "want" to win the game. All it says is "Team 1 Wins" even if it was by $1. 10% of the winning teams score or something like that would be good. Also, there should be new cops n crooks getaway vehicles. However Rockstar in my opinion has no interest in fostering an strong multiplayer community around GTA4. they have allowed to many holes in the experience that allow users to be asses, and not fixed slight functionality things that would greatly improve the experience. but hey when youre raking in money hand over fist who cares right!! Booze Posted April 7, 2009 Share Posted April 7, 2009 I don't think it's like they're sitting on their asses. Most developers have to choose between great singleplayer and great multiplayer. We know Rockstar've done (and always have) a hell of a job with the singleplayer. Considering that, the multiplayer is still a great experience. Exactly, and maybe an online world ranking system for PS3(most cash, most kills, least deaths, number of headshots, etc. Something like ´Stats´ in Single Player-mode)? I left this thread open as a chance for people to discuss any "problems" with the PS3 multiplayer, now it just seems to be a bitchfest about how hard down by PS3 fanboys are, so in fine tradition I am closing.
