Bada Bing Posted April 22, 2009 Share Posted April 22, 2009 Ended up going something like 35-0 but it was more the insanity factor of shoot guy out of car, blow up second car, dodge rocket, shoot dude as he reloads rocket round, turn and snipe guy getting in car, M4 guy behind me, blow up third guy in car, run, get ammo, get armor. It was f*cking INTENSE. n00bs or not, the sheer volume of cars and rockets thrown at me was crazy and the fact I lived through it all. 2 of the 3 messaged me after asking how I did it (no accusations of cheating or anything) and I had to say honestly I just stayed calm, made sure I had all my weapons and got lucky. I had a similar situation, although I was unable to obtain full weapons, I was stuck with a pistol versus three other people in team deathmatch. Just two teams, 3 on 1. I guess we were all mid-level players. Damn if I didn't get within $200 of beating them... with a pistol only. Still don't know how I did it. It's probably not special to anyone else but i have never been in seperate games with the same person without being invited. Everybody dance now! I believe I have seen that PSN at least once maybe twice. I never see the same PSN twice, although it's hard to remember sometimes. That list PS3 keeps of players met on-line has some kind of limit I assume, and then just overwrites as you meet more people? Weirdest thing that of all the people I've played with and play with from here, they are the 2 guys I see randomly at least once a month. No clue why this is but it greatly amuses me. BadaBing - yep, I got lucky with the spawns. Even with weapons on Powerful, I couldn't have pulled that off with just an SMG. Kudos for kicking major ass with the pistol! It can't be just me, but I find it easier to aim using a pistol. Now granted, it's no match when you are up against an M16 and you have no cover to ditch to. But I've played a couple DM where it was just pistols and I tend to do better than when it's assault rifles. And forget rocket launchers,... I can't aim them to save my life (literally). I know, aim for their feet. But really, it's fun watching my virtual self get blasted with rocket launcher and being hurled uncontrollably thru the air. Bada Bing Posted April 24, 2009 Share Posted April 24, 2009 Playing DM last night. Got into first match with just sniper rifles. It was cool. Foggy. Algonquin. So I figured what the hell, instead of sniping, I'll just charge at people with a knife. I would run in an "s" pattern and come up on them and start stabbing away. They had to try and run away from me so they could re-aim. (I know, it's not the most exciting thing ever to happen in multiplayer, but it gave me a laugh). I think I went 4-3 charging at people this way. Later had DM at airport with cops on. and these cops were pissed. You couldn't even focus on other players 'cus the cops were swarming. (Lesson learned: a cop killing you reduces your total by $100. Never knew). I discovered I really don't like cops on.... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yeah, I found out (the hard way) that you shouldn't play in traffic. Liberty City is NOT pedestrian-friendly. (especially when you cross the street with an M16 in your hands). And I've fallen off the buildings enough at the airport as well. Almost drowned in a vehicle until I realized I had to exit it to start swimming. And played a TDM at the Prison/snipers with someone from here that found me in a random race, Wuzzie, I think? (can't remember his forum name) The host switches to TDM/prison/snipers and I had my usual "WTF! I hate snipers only!" reaction, but since I was on a team with a forum member (and he clicked in right away), I figured what the heck... We won; I went 12 kills to 1 death and at least 5 of the kills were stabbings! Yea...If I am hosting and have a lobby full of whiners, I will wait til after the match (whatever mode) and on the screen where you choose the mode for the next match, wait for everyone to click in (which you cannot click out of again) and watch them scramble trying to kick me as I slowly scroll down to Freemode and dump them there. The best part is the host always gets to the lobby first, so I immediately leave so that when the rest arrive, I am not even there! And I love Heli races...as long as ppl keep them short. As there were 4 people and somebody else had the chopper, I went to get a car and head for one of the road spawns. Suddenly, my car explodes. I note my teammate, meazy1331, standing on the steps with rocket launcher. Okay, no biggie. Boat spawn gets away so we head after it. Drive to the Prison, then the wall on the water looking to blow up the boat. Here comes meazy and...he slaps me around with the RPG and when I finally get on the steps from the water, grenade. Finally, we end the game. Next game, meazy puts FF on. I didn't notice so he kills me and leaves me. Fine, I grab the chopper and make sure to get the RPG's on the 5th and 4th floors, then murder/suicide a couple times. Game over. Next game, I manage to team kill him about 5 times, run, grab chopper, and do this thing that I've only done a couple times before but basically you grab a chopper, glitch under the map and intentionally run into a subway line. If you hit correctly, you are still glitched and it is impossible to find you unless they somehow manage to crash in the exact same spot. Afterwards I sent hiim a LULZ message. He adds me as a friend. Since then, we've been totally rocking out Dealbreaker and he is the kind of guy that say you broke the chopper blades off halfway across Alderny, he'll still come and pick you up. Fun dude, great teammate and all this AFTER we spent 3 games griefing eachother. I still need to ask him why it was he blew me up in the first place... When someone joined i would run around them in circles while continuously tapping the L1 button to gain their trust. When they would start following me peacefully i would spin around and give them two or three shots to the head and continue to spawn kill from there. Why not post here and share with all your GTA4 Multiplayer chums. I was in the middle of a TDM in colony island(Thanx SJ) and spouts of water start spraying up from the floor all around me like water from the fire hydrants. I kept falling over from them while the other team member who couldn't see the water streams killed me! It's only happened once but i did see water spraying up from nowhere a while after that, needless too say i stayed away from that bastard! In a race this guys car kept flying all over the track knocking my car about while he drove jumpy yet normal and in control. Bloody annoying i believe you that same thing happend to me one i was running and all of a sudden water streems stared coming behind me following my path. SuperJude™ Posted April 27, 2009 Share Posted April 27, 2009 Dealbreaker is such a great mode if you enjoy the rather unique aspects of GTA 4 play. Like LIN has said many a time, the lag, the glitches, all the goofy stuff makes this such a one of a kind game and most of those can be seen on display playing dealbreaker. That and if there is a way to screw up, it'll happen in this mode but I've certainly learned my way around Alderny from the huge amount of times the chopper blades have broken, the car caught on fire, got stuck someplace, etc. Yesterday, playing with 2 randoms, had a decent run till the chopper blades blew off landing on the upper freeway. No worries, we jump out, blow up 1 bike, AK the other. I take off with one guy, the other hops on the bike, which still has the red tag above it. We don't get any indication saying we elimated the bikers and to return to the garage. We go back anyway and watch the map as dude rides up on the bike, red tag still above, and into the garage. Doesn't seem to happen in Team Mafia Work often but seems to happen on DealBreaker every other game. That exact same incident cost me the R* time about 2 or 3 times...I blew up the bikes with the markers above and that cost me an extra 10 secs which then got me to a 7:10:XXX... I start shooting from afar and will often try to drop a grenade. Soon as the boat catches fire or I kill the last biker, we should leave. 'WTF, where did you get the shotgun'. 13 more rounds/deaths later someone finally kills me. I think I may have got two at once a coupla times too. Soooooo many people don't know about the police car. One guy (lvl 7 or 8) was in a car, lowbie guy tried to get in but he pulled away. I let the guy hop on the bike with me and shot the arch of the guys car (dam i love that, cheers whoever found that out he he) Then we bailed and killed the Van and bikers. I just took the lowbie bakc ot the mansion but noticed the other idiot must have missed the boat spawn. I took the lowbie in a chopper with me and let him do the drive by as i was steadying off the boat and pulling closer in. One time i came across the Tug boat but wouldn't let the other hippy in (come to think of it, might have been the same game. Holy sh*t this just proves how I have no imagination, I never even thought to drop a grenade on that boat. Thanks for the tip. I was playing DB yesterday and we had 2 helis and I saw the other guy in the other heli flip the boat over and then the boat flips back over so he tries it again and ends up in the drink. That sux so I try it and I manage to flip it again without needing to swim away( only the second time for me, damn that's hard). I pick the other guy up and we gotta go bail out 2 other guys trying to catch the bikers.Both were level 1 or 2 but they did pretty well. It helps sooooooo much to know Alderney. SuperJude™ Posted April 27, 2009 Share Posted April 27, 2009 Police Car + Shottie on melee levels = awesome, unless of course you get those games where all 10 of us are fighting it out trying to be the first one in the police car by the Prison More Dealbreaker amusement comes when two guys are shooting at the boat spawn, but only one of us sees the boat explode. Get back in chopper and wonder WTF other dude is doing firing into the ocean, only to realize that they still see the boat and the blips. It's the one mode where I get people apologizing for screwing up and I'm always like hey whatever, we'll get it next time. I do love the fact that many of us Dealbreaker junkies all now blow eachother up at the exact point we pass the mission. For whatever reason this always makes me laugh. Was in free mode with about 12 players, and it's interesting to see just how quickly it breaks down when one person resorts to violence and starts killing people. Next thing you know another players succumbs to the temptation, then another, then another, and yes then me. I lower myself to the primal instinct of godless killing machine,...and what do we all get? Nothing. FACT: amount of money earned for kills in Free Mode. Zero. ZERO. to think all the money I would have made if we were in deathmatch. I guess I just don't understand the need to kill people in Free Mode when there are other multiplayer games to do plenty of killing. Not saying I didn't enjoy myself, but once in a while it's fun to tool around liberty city without having to stress over being killed (at least by other players, cops are another story). Okay, this is a noob question. For the friendly fire option in free mode, does FF "on" mean you will get killed by other players, and "off" means you won't, or vice versa? Was about 12 of us aswell, police on. I'd hunt down the person that killed me and kept killing till they left game, always fun lol Rallied round a corner, 2 guys in a cop car trying to pick up another guy. I hit the guy and the car, the driver of the other car must have got the kill. What they didn't know, i was cooking a grenade going towards the corner ha ha ha Bruceter..... that was you??? I'm certain you dusted me a couple times yesterday, but I'm not sure if it was that free mode match, or in deathmatch... my PSN = EastsideRJ yeah, I said goddamn bruceter a few times yesterday...
