But the game is great. WE need to solve what ever issues we have and hope Torronto puts our screen names in the next distro of gta. Llike in the internet cafe. And puts the pesky flamers in the gay singles section.

The game is fine, but the worst aspect is "Computer Specs too high"

In normal game you can lower settings and play the game, but here you have various missing objects flickering textures and shadows that burns eyes.

Anyone who moans about computer specs too high obviously doesn't want to be playing current gen games. Personally, I don't want the PC game market to lag behind graphically and physically because some people fail to see as time goes on, game get better and require more processing power.

 

Go play San Andreas, I'm sure the specs are more to your tastes.

I would vote on more than one option... but dedicated servers is, IMO, one of the worst aspects in GTA IV. Rockstar could have learned with SA-MP and MTA and other multiplayer mods developed for their games. With a dedicated server we would be able to play with who we want, and not who GFWL system wants and we would be able to set up 24/7 servers for just one purpose, like race, co-op, DM, etc. Also it would be easier to ban and kick cheaters, as the admins would have more power. And there would be clans, etc.

 

My second option would be support for modders. Now c'mon Rockstar, you know that your games created a huge modding community, and you know that modding is what keeps GTA games going on for YEARS after the release date. It's time for a SDK, isn't it? Sooner or later there will be programs to modify every aspect of the game, and there will be any kinds of mods. Just look at SA or VC. You could make our life easier...

Exactly. That's what the supporters of patch 1.03 don't understand. GTA is all about modding. I never finished SA's story missions . . . there was just too many mods to choose from to have fun.

 

R* will definitely regret this release in the near future. They're too focused on the console market to realize they completely lost almost 75% of their PC community.

 

Don't expect a PC release for the next GTA. It won't happen.

It's the Processor depended-ness that is the REAL problem. I have a quad core CPU and the game is bottlenecking because of it!

I have an 8800 GTX and 4 GB of RAM so memory and the gfx card aren't the problem.

You got a Quad, and what is being bottlenecked? Im on a Quad with an 8800GT and running the game pretty high.

I'm running my settings high too, but I get like 30 fps. I deserve more than 30 fps on a quad.

GFWL.

The game can be patched and optimized to run on the minimum specs, but I dont see how they can get rid of this fiasco called GFWL, and as long as M$ is in charge of our online experience it will be the rubbish we are playing right now, tugboats and rocket pistols all over the place. (I already logged out of multiplayer race twice today because we had tugboats on the freeway)

Most anti cheats are imperfect, leads to too many people getting false boots.

Sure it's worth it.

Until you can't join a game because of some stupid glitch.

Just join a race game and youll see huge boats on the roads, oh and the new tool they are using is like setting a random target that the boats spawn on, so its now harder to see whos doing it... Ive also seen Rocket Glocks! And peopel who repair their vehilces when burning.

I believe the game is too CPU optimized, for the people who say its too high specs, you probably have a really crappy computer. Anyways, I believe that Rockstar should have attempted to optimize the games for dual cores & possibly single core, I think its too cpu dependent meaning that if you have a good graphic card, but you own a dual core. It will run poorly, I see people with 9600GT's & a Q6600 getting 40 - 60 FPS on high, while I get 20 - 30FPS on high with my e6550 & 9800GTX+

Charlie (and I can't believe I'm having to clarify this), the thread title is "What is the worst aspect of GTA4?", not "What is your opinion of GTA4?". There is no grey-area here, you were wrong to change the poll options.

In that case how about I change the option too "whinging whining f*ckwits that haven't got a clue about how to manage a PC" because RIGHT NOW that is the worst aspect of GTA 4 for me . This was quite clearly a skewed poll to begin with it is only FAIR and RIGHT that there should be an option for people to say "they have no problem". The fact you can't understand that does make me question your motives here. If you want think of it like someone saying "there is no worst Aspect of GTA 4" because for a lot of people there ISN'T.

Leaving aside the dubious merits of your answer, how exactly did you become a mod? I'm on more forums than I can think of right now, and I have rarely seen mods tolerate language like that, let alone use it.

I think the lack of dedicated servers is the worst aspect of GTA IV.

With dedicated servers it would be easier to handle the modding/cheating problem in MP.

 

Yeh, I agree with you on that. Dedicated servers = less cheater + lesser chance of losing connection to game.

Anyways, I do agree, the Multiplayer right now is the worst aspect. Its sad seeing such a good game being destroyed to bits by its own fan because of the poor thought put into production. Specs were very high, and too CPU dependant.

 

IMO, they should have told Securom to F*off. And use that money to buy PunkBuster so we can have someproper online game play.

Fair enough, i agree.

 

I just said punk buster in meaning some form of anti cheat. And yes there should be secure and unsecure servers. Just like any other online game, I don't understand why a game company like R* didn't think of making it like every other online game.

 

Maybe they didn't care.
