Jordy.
You could always ask the people you suspect why they're voting for the person they chosen, rather than the other options? That way, they'd have to answer by comparing each of the stories with their chosen one, which'll mean they'll have to read each one. Don't lock this over some dodgy votes. Also, don't count my vote for Chunk, because it's unfair that I haven't read all the others.

True, but I suspect those that have turned up to say "nice description lol" and then bugger off have no intention of coming back to explain their vote in further detail. Besides, I doubt they'll be back in this topic by the time I have to lock it and move on to April's competition. I just think it's disgusting that this month has been ruined by entrants telling others to vote for them in a bizarre popularity contest.
Vercetti21
If this is turning into a shambles almost overnight, I'm going to lock it. I want everyone to call into this topic and give me one good reason why I shouldn't just ask for this not to carry on. I love this competition but something tells me that quite frankly it's not worth keeping open. Not mentioning any names, but some need to re-think why they're even in this competition and fast. I'm just sick of being in limbo about this whole thing. We should establish and clarify a set of rules before the competition proceeds and the same thing happens next month. The whole "state your reason why you vote this" rule is good, but it isn't enforced when people come in and say "bcuz it had gud description" or "bcuz i was told to", then haul ass out of the thread. Hell, I think I'm going to start voting for people on the basis that a magic genie offered me free pot. Don't get me wrong, I think this competition is great and it's been a great implementation into the community, but it seems a little pointless at the times when people aren't even going to be part of the community by supporting each other. Rhoda
See, the way I see it is we're at a crossroads. Sure, we want to encourage "outsiders" (so to speak) to take part and get involved but it's still very hard to pinpoint just what's an acceptable reason for voting. As far as I know, there's isn't a practical test we can introduce that will prove members have read all entries. I know there's been a lot this month, probably the most we've had across the whole competition, but I'm at odds with what we're going to do. Actually, yes I do, new topic. Gung ho, let's start from the top.
