[GTA-IV] Gravity-gun?

HI!

 

I'm thinking that is there any possible ways to make this gravity gun?

ex. You can grab objects, (humans too tounge.gif ) and throw them like in HL2!

I too was wondering if some sort of a phys/grav-gun would be made for IV - the World Builder mod triggered me to think of it.

a bit harder for peds

But how would one go about doing that, in HL, its designed in..

 

He has the "slot" unarmed for grabbing objects he's in range of, I'm curious if a script can manipulate this to allow him to pull objects to him. We know high physics force on a weapon can push peds/vehicles into orbit lol, so could physics be manipulated to somehow pull object to the firing weapon, ofcourse thats only when the projectile is fired as opposed to the "gravity gun" which holds object till something causes it to release ..

 

I think of the grab script for Niko, which vehicle grab is already written in the game, as peds grab on to car doors atleast but I note if Niko is near vehicle but not actually touching, it does sorta pull him to the car and makes him hold on until something causes him to release, either timer or user input. So where are the programmers/script writers out there ?!

k, I even suggested to CoMPMStR if he thought a gravity gun was feasible..

 

He suggested same thing I thought about when I posted. I tried setting physics to negative, "-4000" on deagle, it drew cars towards niko rather quickly, knocked the heck outta him, tounge.gif

 

CoMP mentioned -2000, I tried that, it still drew cars towards him, eventually enough shots and it knocked niko back.. So no gravity gun technically but mehhh .. Maybe a coder or someone can do somethin w/ it.

No it's not impossible at all.

I could easily create a vehicle gravity gun which would attract the vehicles around the player for example.

Vehicles are extremely easy.

However, the peds aren't, since the method to get the peds only gets peds which aren't bound to a scenario. There are some ped flags we can try to change but I'm not sure.

Objects, quite difficult, but still very very possible.

Then maybe some good coder see this mod and he gets intressed and make us good phys gun inc. grabbing pedds,objects!

I kept imagining stuff like superman from SA being implemented in IV..

 

It would just be funny as hell to make niko get into a superman pose, fly 200 miles an hour into a truck, and crush it.. I keep bein reminded of the dragonball mods for HL1 though.

Does anyone remember the superman mod from GTA:SA. They managed to script him to fly face first all the time, add particle effects when he lifted stuff, and basically allowed you to target most stuff. We could use one of the episodic slots with a null object to get his hands free, and then have him target an object and force pull or force push it. Grabbijng it would be a bit harder though.

Yep, I did some tests last night, and it works nicely.

Today, I have to complete my coursework, then after it I will try some more stuff to make it look good.

In a few days, after the taxi mod release, I will have time to do this one as well!
