Jackoozy
So, I thought it would be really interesting to see all familliar places both in CW and IV renditions. Of course a lot of things were changed due to DS liimitations, but nevertheless you can see all these little similarities here and there. I'll begin with Huang's safehouse:
OJsAlibi
Yes...!!! I would contribute, but I don't have the resources.
Gouveia
About that picture, it's almost the same, but there are no garage at IV's rendition. I would certainly help with the IV part, but that would be useless since I don't have a DS... Or an emulator

gta 4 gamer
p.s. Better play on emul, I like it more I believe emulator talk is not allowed on the forum. Please support Rockstar and actually buy the real version of the game(DS). I heard they have been working 2 years on the game?
Jackoozy
gtaps2modder Nice one! But you have right to play on emul only if you own the copy of CW ________________________________________________________ Another famous place: this time it's from "Uncle Vlad" The thing is that for some reason the bridge starts near this place and not goes over it... but it's pretty much the same location nevertheless. Gouveia
gtaps2modderNice one! But you have right to play on emul only if you own the copy of CW I don't know, I'm going to the USA on April 15th. If the DSi is released by then, I'm gonna buy it. Nice pic, Jackoozy! CTW is growing on me EDIT: I couldn't help myself. I bought CTW off ebgames.com and downloaded the emulator. That makes my ROM legal, right? Next step: Buying a DSi because it runs kinda laggy. EDIT2: I got some obvious, that I think that you don't need a IV pic: Schottler Hospital- [email protected] Café at Broker- Edited March 24, 2009 by VinnyGouveia
Jackoozy
Thanks, Vinny! Nice pics you got here. Some interesting facts 1. Roman's depot is repaired now 2. Faustin's Mansion doesn't resemble the one in IV 3. FDLC is still there , but I couldn't find Karen's home...

Gouveia
Too bad this emulator lags a lot, otherwise it would be a lot better. Steinway Beer Garden -
Jackoozy
This place looks just like in IV! I wonder whether there's Packie's house. PS: I'm currently using No$gba without any lags...

Yeah, if I get rid of this lag, then it's gonna be a lot more enjoyable. I'm currently looking for the safehouses, gonna post pics later.
xgohawks
Um I'm not sure if this counts but CTW has a mission where you kill Lost club members That was kinda cool to do

And of course there are no trees in CW. EDIT: Niko was there btw. During the mission called "Have a Heart" for Elizabeta. When he had to deliver dead Manny and Jay to the doctor. Jang01
Yea, bought GTA: CTW the other day, but for screenshots, I use an emulator... anyway I use DesMume and that runs perfectly fine if you change the config>frame skip to 1. Great game and Niko's first safe house looks a bit different, you can see the door and the hotdog vendor across the street, but where did the railway track overhead come from? haven't played GTAIV for a while, I'll check it out. GTA3Freak-2001
The changes are mostly due to the grid like road layout which I don't mind but do curved roads really take more work to render by the DS?
Jackoozy
The changes are mostly due to the grid like road layout which I don't mind but do curved roads really take more work to render by the DS? Well, yeah, I think so. You see, CW's Liberty City is simplier than the one in IV and its structure somehow resembles LC from GTA 1 and
Jang01
I was playing CTW earlier and found these, then looked them up on the emulator, blah blah and here's some more The Beach Gate entrance and the triton/satan/devil guy (sorry for no GTAIV pic) oh yea...should I just put links to the photos or just show the whole photo in the reply? Some people's internet cuts out (like mine) if to many large photos are on the screen at once. Edited March 29, 2009 by Jang01

JOSEPH X
The changes are mostly due to the grid like road layout which I don't mind but do curved roads really take more work to render by the DS? I think it`s the best compromise between map size and viewing screen size. You can then bring in the sides of the map, and show both sides of a street at the same time. Imagine an exact replica map from IV, to view a car the size of a CW Hellenbech then all you would be able to see around it is road surface. To then pan out the camera to get the buildings in, would mean the car being too small and the buildings being less detailed. My favourite details are the memorials to Hernan and Jose in Bohan
