If you were waiting for GTA5 and the first screenshots were of barbie's horse riding rape cirus, I think you would react in the same way.

That is in no way the same thing as what is happening here whatsoever.

 

What really gets me is that I'm fairly sure that if this game were to come out and everything was identical to the first two people would be bitching and moaning about that too. It's Resident Evil syndrome, people complained that every game was the same thing and then when the formula did change to something more like they wanted people complained that it just wasn't the same. Give it more of a chance beyond one preview, I've already said I'm not a big fan of the changes they've made but the key thing to me about Max Payne was more how they told the story, it was the graphic novel panels and the narration. Clever writing made Max Payne enjoyable, if I'm being honest the gameplay in the first two was fairly generic third person shooter with the addition of a gimmick, albeit a gimmick done well.

I know what you're saying. But, for me at least, even if it was an exact copy of max payne 1 or 2, I wouldnt have anything to complain about. You can never get TOO much like the first games enough.

 

As for the rockstar screens, most are just that of the scans earlier. And I am not just saying this because im dissapointed in this, but even if it was " generic shooter 3 " and I saw these screenshots, I wouldnt be excited AT ALL. So I have no clue why some people still want it.

 

Ill give it a chance to redeem as soon as I see a gameplay video. But unless it gets changed around alot. All I know is, I dont really want to play a game that looks like that. They cant even get him to hold weapons right. I mean come on.

They're just complaining because it's not "Noir" enough, aesthetically. Kids these days like to complain about their favorite franchises being "raped". But I personally think it looks f*cking awesome.

Just looking at the screenies and it looks like the most badass MP maps ever created - the Sao Paolo favellas. I really think this game will leave South Bohan deserted when it comes out, can`t wait.

 

I don`t understand R*`s reluctance to hype their games before release, there`s games slated to come out after this that we know a lot about. A few more screens, a trailer, and maybe an interview with a dev would be nice. C`mon R*!

The only thing Max Payne needed was more (and bigger) New . York Noire maps. Also some more variation (in Max Payne 1 you replayed some maps but in Max Payne 2 it was crazy the ammount of 'maps/scenery' you actually replayed (although in a different way/route).

 

Still not entirely convinced...

I love the whole mise en scene in these pics. Yeah, it's not dark and gritty looking (maybe gritty) but I think it looks great. For example, Vice City was a lovely and major change of scenery after gloomy, grey, GTA III. I think this will be nice.

I believe Rockstar are capable of adapting other's work as proven by The Warriors, which generally was liked by fans of the film and people who played the game. Rockstar, will bring the series in a new direction but will obviously be weary not to piss off too many c*nts like you who don't want anything to change. I think that if you were in charge of the games direction we'd be playing May Payne with improved graphics. Just dragging the whole thing out. Now I said 'I think' I'm not trying to pass it off as fact.

I will tell you one thing,whatever assumptions we have in our minds of the location,the reality is nobody gives a **** whether it should be in new york or brazil or somewhere else,you asked if I have seen and visited brazil,I ask you if you have visited the whole new york,there might be many locations similar in both the countries(I meant about the view of buildings and skyscrappers in high devlopment countries,and U.S. and Brazil are 2 of them),besides they wanted to add the slums too to have a new atmsosphere,and by the way in the previous two games,most of the game was indoor,so nobody cares if it was new york or california or something else.I dont worry about the location as long as there are the traffikars,mobs and deadly gangsters are,and according to me,there are,as I saw from the balance sheet made by rockstar,which gave information about the gang PCC max will be handling with,I really was overjoyed by their history and took in mind it would seriously citizen kane to play this.

Almost sounding like conpiracy theorists on the brink of a new discovery that Obama is actually Cyborg 'puppet.' It is a Max Payne game. You will be playing as the charachter Max Payne. Different writers, yes. Reputation to live up to, yes. Staying true and honouring the orginals - Rockstar saiid they will try and do.
