I'm not buying it so I can buy V when it comes out right away.But I am watching a walkthrough on youtube.I normally don't like straight up shooters,but this seems awesome.I'm currently watching chapter 11 I think.After the Nova Esperança Favela with the Panama Cruise Ship.

Here's the thing, I love everything about Max Payne apart from the gameplay. Love the story, love the vibe of it, think the voice acting and soundtrack are fantastic. But all that bloody shooting. I really, truly hate it.

So, is the story still as great as it was before?

You're probably right. Given the nature of the character, I think they could really pull off a comic book series.

As for the games, I think they could do some prequels after this one. There was a three year gap between Max's family dying and him taking down the Valkyr operation. Possibly room for another game.

Finished the campaign yesterday and it was pretty sweet; I certainly enjoyed when Victor said he would walk from the charges, and Max was like, "With a limp" and broke his leg. Oh man, that was awesome!

 

It might just be me, but when Max shaves his head and keeps the beard, he looks like Walter White from Breaking Bad.

Couldn't wait for the PC version any longer and rented an Xbox 360 copy last night. Started playing through it today, made it to Chapter VI and the jeep driving through the front doors before my power cut out and I didn't feel like playing any further for today. I'm having an absolute blast, I started on Hard difficulty but the impreciseness of the analog sticks forced me to drop down to Medium. The gameplay has been incredible, the first New Jersey segment has probably been my favorite chapter so far, and I can't wait to play through it on the PC where I can truly take advantage of the higher difficulty levels.

 

Not sure if I'm going to try the multiplayer or not. Multiplayer games on consoles just feel so much slower and more limited. Just a little over a week left until the PC version is released, though, so I won't have to wait long to try it.

How is the aim assist in MP? I've been using Hard Lock in the campaign because I really struggle without it. I know I'm probably sounding like an elitist, but I just cannot stand free aim with anything except a mouse.

In MP, you can have either free aim or soft lock. I use soft lock, because my free aiming skills are absolutely terrible.

 

Soft lock isn't too bad, but if you're good at rolling and maneuvering, you can easily get out of someone's crosshairs.

The only thing i'm disappointed in is the health regeneration in multiplayer. Takes all strategy away, was hoping for a fun multiplayer not an uncharted copy.

Yeah, the other day I got the drop on someone and unloaded a full clip from the AK-47 into their back and it didn't drop their health bar one bit. They turned around and one-shotted me with a pistol.

 

I ended up reporting them, because that certainly didn't seen normal.

 

[EDIT] You can filter by health regeneration technically - you just need to unlock hardcore mode, since it doesn't have that perk. However, you need 5,000 kills to unlock said mode.

To melee is just like IV, get close to an enemy and press RT

Im takin my sweet time with the game Single player and Multiplayer. The only think I regret about not waiting until PC version, is there is the chance that PC might support up to 32 players, just like the way GTA IV was..

 

REally love the multiplayer, everything about it is cool, except for the suppose lag and possible hackers. Yea Im hearing things about Hackers on the Ps3 version, not sure if it is true or not.

 

There is good flexibility with choice for beginners and advance players with the soft lock and free aim. I am currently on chapter 7 or 8 for the single player campaign. Max Payne started to become more "badass" when he shaved his head. Idk, I think most people who shave there headcould be a badass .

According to this, it's a bug for those who have a combination of gold and platinum medals on Score Attack. They're currently looking into it.

It's RT in single player and Y in multiplayer.

From what I can tell, Rookie DM/TDM are only for new players - as soon as you hit level 5 or so, you can't use them anymore.

Damn, I was playing multiplayer last night, and I swear towards the end only about half my shots took damage. Plus, I couldn't get back into a party I was in because it kept saying I was "blacklisted". I'm not sure if that was the game's fault or my crappy university internet connection.

Multiplayer is buggy as hell. I am ramming my gun up there f*cking asses and only half my shots do damage, they better sort this out soon it kills the fun. Its not my connection either, everything else plays fine.

I think using free aim in multiplayer really cuts down on the "How the f*ck did he not die?!" moments. For me anyway. Although I do agree that the multiplayer does desperately need a patch, soon. Half the time it's frustrating just trying to get into a game.

Not for me. It's really annoying... I keep on waiting for when my bullets turn real but it never happens.

 

I hope R* do actually acknowledge the problem.
