I'm very much looking forward to hooking up with the GTAF crew on PS3 and kicking some butt, but the Fancy Pants crew is just for a bit of free roam fun. Dunno if MP3 will have free roam, but I'm guessing GTAV will.

That picture made me lol hard, mainly because rather sooner then

later some1 would add some pixels to it...

Fancy Pants crew got shut down. I guess because the emblem was too smutty. Bit of a shame but you got to expect that kind of thing could happen when you push the envelope.

Never take the user scores seriously. I've seen some people score games like Uncharted with a 0/10 for being on PS3 only. It's a clusterf*ck of over-opinionated, under-educated assholes.

I personally haven't been taking the professional reviews any more seriously than I intend to take the user reviews. One of them was actually complaining that not only is cover not effective enough (it isn't supposed to be effective - it's Max Payne, not Gears of War), but that the lack of regenerating health meant the gameplay was "dated." Apparently if your game doesn't try to appeal to the Call of Duty audience, it's considered dated. Absolutely f*cking ridiculous.

 

Like all games, I intend to ignore all outside opinions until I try it for myself. I can't wait for the 29th.

I can't wait for this game to come out! I never managed to be graced with buying Max Payne 1 or 2, but I have watched playthroughs for both, and I may get them for PC later. I've also applied for the GTAF crew, and I hope it isn't filled! My Social Club is "Sapman" (I don't know how I came up with these dumb names), and I can't wait to start playing with the crew.

 

It looks like the reviews are generally positive towards the game, and that's a plus. The scores seem to be similar to LA Noire. It would be great if the reviews are posted on the front page, though, so everybody can see it.

We had some very talented people working on it throughout the week. blueboyjr did the initial sizing and placement from there about 5 versions were made till we got it just right. Nixion's version is the one we settled on. We even have a Gold and Vice City version for special occasions.

 

People can do some pretty amazing things with what is essentially a very lightweight version of a generic PS style editor. The NYPD Crew in particular have an amazingly detailed emblem.

Make sure you're selecting Crew Invites in the Activity tab, rather than Messages.

Just got back from midnight release. Me, my buddy, and some other guy were the only ones there for Max Payne 3. There were so many Diablo 3 fags there, it was disgusting. lol. I've never seen so much acne and greasy hair in one place.

Oh, for the most part, I agree. I've always taken reviews with a grain of salt. If a game seems to have merits that appeal to me, then I'll give it a shot. But a general rule of thumb I've observed with metacritic is that if there is a large discrepancy between the critic score and the user score, say about 10% or more, then something is amiss. The last few CoD entries are a shining example of that.

Just got home with it. It's pretty damn good so far. Finished chapter 1 and I'm gonna pick it up again tomorrow after work. My only quarrels are that my RB button is jammed, and in the beginning they made me press it in some tutorial for bullet time or whatever, so that was a pain. I also fell into blue hell right after getting out of the elevator. It was hilarious.

This is one of the best shooters I've ever played. A few bodies have glitched out because I shoot-dodged over them (not every time), but that's me picking nits.

 

If the rest of the game offers environments as detailed and fun to shoot people in as the ones in the first three chapters... Replay value is gonna be strong. I already see myself playing the night club level over and over again, just because it feels so good to play.

 

Do you guys think there will be a noticeable improvement in graphics if I install the game to my Xbox harddrive? Or overall performance? Only in a few cutscenes has there been a bit of slowdown. It's not painfully obvious, but you can tell it's there.

 

Today is gonna be a long day. I have to get through 6 hours of work, knowing Max Payne 3 is waiting at home, waiting for me.

Better loading times should be a guarantee if you install. Overall performance, such as the slowdown you described, should be quashed.
