Yeah this is dumb. One of the main draws to the first one other than the story and awesome shooting. Was the gritty as f*ck. New york nighttime and underground. So dirty you can taste it, and new york accents and mafia coming out your ears.

What the f*ck is this sh*t? Max Payne in the f*cking Caribbean? Max Payne is about dark, seedy underworlds and isolation from everything else, not something out of a f*cking Thomas Cook holiday brochure!!! They'd better get this sorted out, Max Payne was (And hopefully will be) the greatest action hero of all time!

Well, at least if MP3 doesn't turn out so good, we will have Alan Wake... It's not like Max Payne I know, but it's made by Remedy and... Sam Lake.

Seems to me Rockstar have admitted they couldn't continue the theme and style that Remedy started and have just taken the game in a different direction. The problem is the first two MP's would of just been generic shooters without the NY setting, film noire' and bullet time. With one out of three present I can't see MP3 being that great.

I'm probably the only one excited to not be getting the same old crap with the new Max Payne game. I'm pretty sure we have the Max Payne movie starring Marky Mark to thank for this change in scenery for MP. All I know is different definitely equals better for this (IMO) stale series.

What the f*ck are you on about exactly. There have only been two f*cking games! Both absoultly brilliant.

This on the other hand looks like a piece of crap and I am not impressed. Brazil, what the f*ck ? I want good old new york with the mafia again and seedy undercuttings behind it. Its not meant to be colourful, its meant to be dark. I am just going to retitle this generic 3rd person shooter until I see more because this is no max payne.

 

I am just going to remake Godfather but this time I am going to put it in Somalia. Change of scenery for GF, all I know is different definitely equals better for this stale series.

How can this possibly be the same? As said its meant to be a noire and you cant have that without payne narrating it himself and the comic book strips for cutscenes and storyline, and with no grit how can it be taken seriously.

 

All I hope is that this is some f*cked up prologue mission they are showing us to confuse us. Or its a dream. Then he grows hair, shaves, gets his leather jacket back, and 92FS then goes back to new york.

 

The sounds and look is what made the feel, and set it apart from most games.

 

 

Btw, the film SUCKED BALLS to beyond, and no way in hell was this series dead. f*ck id even be happy with Max Payne 1&2, with improved graphics and controls, and a Co-op aspect and id be happy still playing the first games again. A shared bullet time bar. vigilante/kill some crook gits mode. Like R6Vegas terrorist hunt.

 

In the end its different devs and writers and by those shots, that only leaves 2 games i want this year.

For the time it was an alright game. Nothing worth buying IMO. Bullet time seemed new, but it wasn't anything more than that. Don't even get me started on the tightrope walking nonsense. Stale series with only 2 games that look/feel a lot alike, I still stand by what I said. I welcome the change. Will keep my eye on this game.

I am sure I am not alone in thinking that, all that made these games unique and awesome has all been lost. If you welcome a change you must not have understood or liked the genre it had. Even if the game turns out to be good, its still not max payne. If it aint broke dont fix it. Especially when everyone loves it already. Way to make a series into a run of the mill peice of sh*te. Exactly. R* better change(d) the name instead of using Max Payne. It could be an allright or even 'brilliant' game... but not a Max Payne game!

 

Well, for now I stand by this. My opinion could change when I see some decent footage/trailer or something. But I highly doubt that. They shouldn't have messed with the Max Payne (formula).
