I saw an advertisement on the side of a bus for MP3 today on my way home from work. It reminded me that I will be playing it soon  Has anybody else seen anything like that yet?

The last I saw a game advertisement here in Brazil it was about Warcraft 3.

Stores here will get the game only 3 weeks after the release. So everything about games here are repelled by the government.

That's why I don't even buy games from stores. Steam/PSN ftw.

Im off on holiday in June, so my spending has been completely frozen lately as i try and save up. But im making an exception for this game on release day, i cant wait!

 

I loved the first two games, so as long as this keeps the heavy atmosphere and drama, it will be money well spent.

"never before seen chapter" does hint that Rockstar have only been using a few levels for trailers and such. which means WIN when it comes to environment variation. has to be my most anticipated game for a long time, MW3 didnt do much for me, same with BF3. but Max Payne 3 is really getting me hyped, not long now gents!

Well, considering we've seen very few levels, (off the top of my head, an office building, a soccer stadium, warehouses/garages, a scrapyard, some NY levels, and either multiple or the same favela level) It was kind of obvious that we haven't seen everything, especially since the game is 3 acts long and spans 2 discs on 360.

That grey suit he is wearing in the office he also wears on the roof top helicopter scene at night. I wonder if it goes from day to night in one level. This is kinda funny, I was watching the movie "Nothing But Trouble" the other day and Chevy Chase was wearing the exact same grey suit and he mentioned Sao Paulo. I thought it was a funny coincidence.

The achievements were released by Rockstar a good while ago. I noticed xbox360achievements had only just put them up, and I guess it's because they just got the gamerscore values.

If I finish the story the first time on Hardcore, will unlock the achievements of previous difficulties?

How could we possibly know that now? The best we can do is guess, and yes, often that is the case.

 

I don't think hardcore is a difficulty level, though. As it's worth less than all the others. Probably just an option.

If it's like the first two games, then you'll have to beat the game on the "entry level" of difficulty before the other difficulty levels are unlocked. So far I don't think anything is known about this though.

I've been wanting to play Max Payne 3 for a really long time now! I've always played the previous two on the PC however this time I'll be playing this one on console.

I've never played it on console before.

 

How are the controls on console compared to the keyboard and mouse? I always did wonder how it plays on console.

The console versions of Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne were a horrible port from PC. The gameplay is not that bad, but it still can't be compared to the PC version. So I hope R* will do a better job this time... I know they will.

 

R* should release a HD Bundle for the 1st 2 games.

I said it earlier in the thread but the biggest differences I saw aside from graphical was managing the targeting reticle as it sort of moves around Max in a circular fashion, that action felt a lot more fluid with a mouse, beyond that a conventional controller is what I'm used to.

Oh god 2 weeks to go already? I feel like it was yesterday I was defending this game when the original screens first came out! I'm glad people have swayed back to the land of the sane when it comes to this game, I really can't wait to try out every gun and replay the crap out of it.

The controls didn't feel bad when I played the first two on the PS2. I have never played the PC version of any Max Payne. But if an 8 year old can beat both games on the consoles, I'm sure you can I'll be playing Max Payne 3 on the PC this time but with a wired Xbox controller.

I played through Max Payne again, finished it this afternoon, hopefully I'll play through MP2 before release
