You're an idiot. You're comparing game sales of a last gen game to sales today, and you think MP is trying to be like Uncharted? Such talent for stupidity is rare and hard to find, even on the internet.

yea people have opinions too in 2012.

What are you talking about there over 100 milloon ps2, Mr Max Payne. You fail. if the game was good it would have had 10 15 million sales.

You just said that you judge games by the amount of sales. Do you have any idea how f*ckin' retarded that makes you look?

For it's time MP was groundbreaking visually and physically. Your just some little boy who hordes the V section. Have patience kid.

Max Payne and Uncharted are nothing alike. Max Payne is a sophisticated, noir, crime fighting series with incredible writing and acting. It will blow Uncharted out of the water.

And sales don't mean anything. Vanja is right on this one.

Found this on R* site.

The worldwide gaming press got their very first hands-on session with Max Payne 3 - picking up the story early on, they find Max and his partner Passos meeting up with the ruthless Comando Sombra gang at a local football stadium in an attempt to exchange cash for the captive Fabiana Branco. However, things quickly turn bad as the deal is crashed by unknown assailants. From there, they’re also given a taste of a level where Max tracks Fabiana's kidnappers to the hostile, rain-soaked docks by the Tietê River...

Their impressions? Check out a few quotes and links below to read just a few of the brand new previews...

"It's easy to be impressed when you're standing on the outside looking in. Once you're actually in control in Max Payne 3, the experience is mind-blowing." - CVG

"The game looks fantastic, handles beautifully and the depth of content in both its in-game design and settings seems to offer a ton of replay value. Not only that, its story, which is set up in such a straightforward manner, seems to hint that intriguing denouement is on the cards for the game's titular character. Players should look forward to a tale of greed, betrayal and decadence wrapped in sleek, cool mechanics that allow them to tackle it one bullet at a time." - The Guardian

“Bullet-time, and especially the shootdodge mechanic that you can initiate by running in any direction and pressing the right bumper, can be a glory to behold.

After jumping back into the game to finish the docks segment, I came away from the whole experience incredibly pumped for what Max Payne 3 will have to offer. With a cohesive storyline that's told in a similar but more evolved fashion and tight combat mechanics that make you feel like the bad-ass that Max Payne always has been, I sincerely cannot wait until this game comes out in May.” - Destructoid

“After just a few demonstrations, we've learned that Max Payne 3 is something more than just a shooter; it's a graphical powerhouse, a push forward for linear action games as a storytelling medium and an expert at concealing its gleeful enthusiasm for realistic hyperviolence behind a veneer of grim resolve. After playing through a couple of its levels, we learned something else: it's also a lot of vicious, bloody fun...” - GamesRadar

Read more at: http://www.gamesradar.com/11-things-you-ne...ut-max-payne-3/

“Max Payne 3's cinematic approach works brilliantly, and though much of what we've seen so far is set in South America, the demo implied that these chapters will be interspersed with episodes from Max's tortured past in New York. He's always been a compelling protagonist, and it'll be fascinating to see him explored further.” - IGN

“The third Max Payne, the first in more than eight years, is raw, third-person shooter thrills. Naturally, it's imbued with the cinematic flair for which Rockstar is known, drawing cues from Hollywood and Hong Kong cinema, crafting memorable characters and an engrossing story.” - GameTrailers

So you think sales which comes from your own friends if you have any, doesn't determine if a game is good. Wow if i own a company and we don't get sales we close up shop, and move on to bagging groceries. This is a 8 year old sequel that is getting beat in preorders by wiii games. People need to stop nut hugging R* for this 8 hour one night campaign, thinking that this is the game of the year, and know that we should be getting GTA, but then when the fall comes they will be scared to put out GTA against, Halo, COD, AC3, etc, and then delay it like they did Max panye because payne would have gotten destroyed in March.

Seriously, shut up.

R* are a games developer. They're not gonna make one f*cking game and that's it, no matter how popular it is.

If you don't like the game, I don't think anybody gives two flying f*cks. Stick to the GTA V section of the forum. icon14.gif

for this 8 hour one night campaign,

CoD is a 4 hour campaign.

Also, why would R* be in competition with themselves with GTA. There the same f*cking company. Eight years ago there was nowhwere near the number of consoles/PC's being sold in the world today. The market has changed dramatically since. You just cant compare. That's like comparing car sales from the 1920's to 2011.

You're right, Max Payne hasn't had a sequel for over 8 years. So why don't you show some respect to the fans of the series who have been waiting patiently, unlike the GTA fans who have tried to boycott other games because of their crippling ADD.

Seems like Eris isn't just a popular brand among the citizens of San Andreas, but also among the Commando Sombra and Cracha Preto street gangs of São Paulo.

I really loved the roaring rampage that was MP1. While MP2 was awesome, I loved how the first one really just about one guy going on a city wide rampage of revenge, and while MP2 was great, the rampage didn't start until the third act. So, yeah, I'd like the insanity back. Its what makes Max Payne for me, one guy versus the world.

That's why I'm kind of worried that Max Payne 3 won't be just Max vs everyone, cause you got Branco and this friend called "Raul Passos". Max wasn't the kind of guy to have lots of friends and the ones he did have weren't that trustworthy. The only friend he had in the first game was Alex Balder who dies in the first mission and Max ends up getting framed for it and in the second game, his only friend was Vlad and he turned out to be the big bad. Considering how trustworthy he is of Passos and Branco, I'm kinda worried. He's a lone wolf, army of one, etc.

kristopherm3 Yesterday

@R*

Do you remember in the previous games, you would pause the game and the world would be frozen but the camera would pan around Max Payne? Can you still do that?

R* Y Yesterday

@kristopherm3 Yep, when you pause Max Payne 3 you'll be able to freeze the action and pan the camera around Max

Woop so much Uncharted likeness....

It'll be more better if we can go free cam and take screens, well for the PC version that is...

Looking forward to the system requirements turn.gif

Yeah, I agree. I understand that they wanted to do something different, but the whole mystique of Max Payne was the one night real time rampage thing. I actually think the MP3 storyline with its intense Man On Fire homage will be a more faithful follow up than the sequel, but it's still a big change.

@Jeeebuuus : The early reviews are articulately glowing and gushy.

Regardless of being a fan of Rockstar, I honestly just think their trademark level of polish in detail and animation that's going to be applied to this project is going to shut a lot of people the f*ck up once it's actually in hand.

Got two of the preview booklets I noticed on the Newswire/Rockstar page. Thought it was something generic as I took it from a Gamestop in New York... but I have two of em biggrin.gif. My inner geek is pleased.

Getting the SE plus MP pack PLUS the Bullet Pen... so pleased with it.

For the first time ever, Rockstar disappointed me. New cover art sucks big time.

The reason the cover is not very impressive, I think, is because it is a slight variation of a picture we are quite familiar with. The big difference is that Max has hair in this one. I think its fine. It stands out and captures the story I think. What really matters is the game itself which I don't think will dissapoint.
