I noticed that Mini-30 has scope in just one shot. Is there weapon customization in MP3? I don't remember hearing of reading about it. Or Max simply picked up version with scope from the ground?

my guess is something similar to...COD 4 singeplayer, specific versions of certain weapons available, so there'd be a Scoped Mini 30* in some scenarios to be used a light sniper rifle, I noticed a suppressed Taurus PT92 in some shots, I guess Max will start missions with special weapons or they'll be left unconspicusly overlooking the yard of a warehouse that Max "just so happens" to have to pick off guards from outside with. convenient.

 

though on the fly customization would be awesome, being able to thread and unthread suppressors and mount scopes as you go, that'd detract a bit from Max's whole "make do" attitude.

 

*FUN FACT: the "Mini 30" in game is actually identical to the Mini 14, in real life the 7.62x39 version of the 5.56x45 Mini 14 is called the Mini Thirty.

Today I saw a trailer for max payne 3, and i actually thought it looks really cool it's first now I discover it. I've never tried the other max payne game but when I saw an offer in blockbuster where you could swap Saints Row 3 and get max payne 3 for free I am sure I must have it

But the fact that almost every game that takes place somewhere in Brazil only shows the bad part of the country pisses me off, and I'm pretty sure that Rockstar will do the same thing with MP3.

It happened in Call of Duty, a game that shows Brazil as a giant 'favela'. São Paulo has the same aspect of Rio de Janeiro, expect for the fact that it's more urbanized (have more buildings and big constructions) and doesn't have so many beaches.

While playing the recent XBLA title Alan Wake: American Nightmare it occurred to me that aside from being a fantastic survival horror, Alan Wake is a damn fine third-person shooter. This is relevant because I wondered where Max Payne would fit in, given the general trend towards first-person shooters.

 

I realised that Max Payne, multiplayer mode aside, is a story driven game much like Alan Wake. Call Of Duty and it's ilk are great but they can't compare to the experience I get from playing a well crafted, story driven game such as Max Payne or Alan Wake. Games like that are keepers in my opinion, whereas a Call Of Duty game becomes redundant with each new iteration.

 

I think Max Payne 3 will be one of the year's finest games. Hopefully it sells well and leads to the rise in popularity of linear, story-driven games. Be they action or horror or even another genre.

 

My point is that for me, Max Payne becomes a more exciting prospect when categorized alongside the likes Alan Wake than with Gears Of War or Call Of Duty.
