Max Payne 3

Just completed New York Minute Hardcore tonight. I haven't felt this stressful in quite some time.

 

Almost failed it a few times. Almost ran out of bullets near the end of chapter 11 but the zip-line section saved me. I got downed near the end of chapter 12 and couldn't spin around fast enough. Thankfully part of the building exploded killing the guy who downed me. I somehow missed the APC in chapter 13 and had to scramble to get another launcher. The APC went through about five volleys before I destroyed it. I Thought it would be a guaranteed death. And I was threading the needle in chapter 14 for the most part since I had less than two minutes for most of it.

Would be stupid to play as max' dad, but in gameplay; dodging bullets is just a gunplay mechanic, it wouldn't matter

I knew about this guy but could never find all of the concept art. Nice finds. I have a different version of one of them, the only one I could find back then.

Has there ever been a patch or a mod that translates the Portuguese in this game to English? I've finished this game a lot of times now and I kinda wanna know what most of the characters are saying.

I am currently replaying Max Payne 3 for the first time since its original release back in 2012, this time on the PC and what can I say ... it is gorgeous, even more so than I remember. I think this game really should be played on PC with mouse + keyboard controls for the best experience. It is just so much more satisfying compared to playing with a controller. I am having a blast, currently at Chapter III. Also damn, this game holds up inredibly well on every front ... visually its amazing, from a gameplay perspective it is gorgeous and this game is simply pure fun. I love it!

Is there a way to mod the MP only weapons into storymode? like making enemies spawn with them or giving them fixed spawnpoints on the maps?

I just got this game as a free pick when pre-ordering RDR2 on PC. Since RDR2 doesn't work, I decided to try this. I have never played Max Payne games. It looked good until the screen began to glitch into bright pastel blurred colors and images split into three or four clones. I thought it was just a stylized thing used in the intro cut scene but it continues throughout the game. I think people with epilepsy would go into shock playing this. I don't even have epilepsy and it's bothering me.

 

There needs to be an option to turn this off as right now, it is unplayable. But I guess it doesn't matter because if RDR2 is refunded because it doesn't work, they'll take this game back as well.

 

And, by the way, I hate you players.

This game was really ahead of it's time I feel like. Both graphically and gameplay wise, still one of the best feeling shooters I think I've played. People were all about GTA V, so sadly this game sort of fell under the radar a little bit, but it definitely deserves more love.

hello, guys!
does anyone play it through new R* launcher?
I got a copy of MP3 complete edition when I bought RDR2. However, when I start I got this error:

if I ignore this, it starts initializing, but it never finishes.

Any idea if you can replace the .bik files (used for pre-recorded cutscenes) and as long as they are the exact length as the original, they'll be used in the game?

 

Part of me has always wanted to take some screenshots and use photoshop to recreate the graphic novel styled cutscenes you get in MP1 and MP2.

Max Payne 3 is an amazing game, story, level design, soundtrack is one of the BEST I've ever heard. Shells or Future are absolute gems and every other track fits perfect.

With MP3 I even went as far as getting a bottle of Jim Bean and drink every time Max drinks in game, and the next day play it when sober with a hangover after Max quits booze. To say the least it made the game even better, an experience.

Also got the comic book made by R* for this game

Welll, ehhhh, yeah, the second song plays in the Favela gang territory, you can't expect gangs or night clubs to be listening to downbeat ambient music now can you? The music in Max Payne 3 was one area where it hit extremely well, from the country music playing in the bar, the dance music in the clubs, etc, each area had it's own music feel as well as the overall score music tying things together nicely.
