in MaxPayne3 there is such a hidden thing as the blood on the screen, by default, it is disabled, but you can return it. So I think that these drops of blood are a denture from the RDR since they are very similar.

Yep, that's true, MP3 uses the Red Dead skyboxes for some of its levels, as vrock said it blatantly says "rdr_" in the files. Max Payne 3 had a lot of things from RDR, they even left the death sounds from RDR in the files. Unused, of course, but there.

Another BETA thing is an underbarrel grenade launcher for some rifles. The most well-developed for AK47.I still can not get the shooting, i can not throw the ammunition in the cage.

 

 

 

if you try with 97LC then the game immediately breaks down but it is noteworthy that the device can be turned on and on other rifles, there simply is no display of model because it simply does not exist in the hierarchy of the rifle model itself.

You know, I actually enjoyed Max Payne 3 for what it is. It was almost a decade after Max Payne 2 and I'm glad they went in a different direction instead of being 1 and 2 rehashed. We had that with the New Jersey levels.

Max Payne 3 was one of the few games I got the platinum for. That New York Minute Hardcore was intense. I was never able to get all the DLC trophies though because people barely played on those maps. But it was a great game.

So the game crashes when trying to play a private match of Dead Men Walking, on the Hoboken map. And the game crashes after you die on the Tiete River map.

 

I've found topics online of people reporting this to Rockstar, but clearly it isn't fixed yet. Has anyone figured something out?

Beta versions of Max's face. This backs up early reports that Max's face was originally still supposed to be based off of Timothy Gibbs. Maybe that's why the MP2 model in Arcade Mode looks so good compared to the MP1 model.

So now that Rockstar seems to be back on track with their games (RDR2 released and Bully 2 next) after nothing but GTAO updates for few years straight, do you think that we might get another Max Payne games in the next 5 years? The storyline related to mafia in New Jersey is still unresolved and I would love to see some shootouts in the dark alleyways just like classic Max Payne 1. That whole gang war between Punchinellos and DeMarcos has a lot of potential.

So... following an order of random events, I had the random urge to look up environment art for Max Payne 3 out of curiosity. I wanted to look at some favela shots to see some of the composition/environment detail. So what do I do?

 

 

And when I click the first result?

 

I find stuff from the old build of Max Payne 3 (2008/2009?). Old build shots, showing cut levels such as Hoboken Train Station, and a Punk Club (repurposed as the Bar's underground area). Also photos of old versions of familiar levels such as the Favelas, Morgue, Extremist's Apartment (suicidal hobo) and Yacht.

As I type this, I've already shown it to Spider-Vice. He's already taken all the measures of saving everything from the dev's portfolio to his machine. Because as we always know, there's always that one Rockstar mole reading any BETA talks, and they go apesh*t once they spot a portfolio ''leak''.

This was the only Rockstar-related piece of content on his portfolio.

 

My thoughts: really cool stuff in those images. It's very nice to see more of the older versions of Max Payne 3, before the game was basically remade. It's also interesting to see familiar locations look so different yet so familiar, almost like gazing into an alternate dimension. Most environments also look very GTA IV-like, and as Spider-Vice commented on a private chat, the shadows look just like the ones in IV PC. A very lucky find.

I speculate any of the two NYC chapters would be much longer than they were, maybe to even fill the hole of how the hell did they get to Brazil? The hobo's apartment was totally changed too, the morgue looks like the LC hospital (lol), and the funerary house AFAIK is totally missing.

 

The Precinct chapter was A LOT darker too.

The funerary house slightly appears near the end of the NY segment, however extremely limited and small. Passos uses the phone in the office near where the pic is in the final game to call his friend in Queens, I believe. You cover him from that part too.

 

It was blended in with the graveyard church, that is.

 

Also, I wonder if the final game's airport train ride was meant to be in the New York train station in those images. Would've made sense. At least more than that in the final game, in my opinion.

I have long found the remnants of props from the railway in NY as they are still in the game and there are train track coordinates  

for example, there is a lot of other props

Guess I never paid much attention to those. Also "lgtrain" now has a meaning, light train. Also, is that an untextured Branco's office?

Yes, this is Branco's office. There is also another interior on this screen. I really don’t know where this place is from in the game.

Looks like a different version of the Club. Or a place just made for that render, Rockstar have done that in GTA IV for example.

I  found an animated boeing for NY, it flies slower than the one that was in the final mission. probably it is just a decoration
