You know what you're absolutely right.

 

I really need to stop looking at reviews and gameplay videos before buying games, it has pretty much killed the excitement of trying new games.

It finally arrived two weeks after it was sent. Just installing it now I played and completed the first two games on the PS2. I would say Max Payne 3 definitely lives up to the name and was a great experience on the Xbox. However there was one little issue I have with this game which is part just before the ending. Warning only reveal if you've completed the game! stood in a car firing grenades out the sunroof at enemy vehicles was a bit OTT for me

I think the thing is with all guns you've got to stick with them and rank em up. I got the Mini 30 up to rank 9 (anyone know what the top? 10?) but I've gone back to the AK-47 to try and rank that up -- and now I'm getting killed again sometimes where I'd suvive encounters.

The AK-47 served me very well until I got to level 20. Once I was able to purchase new weapons, I went with the RPD and haven't regretted it. I love it, mainly for two reasons:

 

1. Large magazine size;

2. Phenomenal range.

 

Once I was able to rank it up to 10 and get the attachments I wanted, it made it all the more deadlier. I'm hoping that when I (eventually) reach level 40, the G6 Commando won't disappoint.

Finally got to level 20, and bought the FMP G3S. Feels sooo good. Sniping every moron who spams their RPG.

i really hate the snipers in this game. they usually just camps at 1 spot and snipe the hell out of every1 who spawns. i have ever gotten spawn killed once over 6 times in a row by the same sniper at same spot

One thing i hate about this game.... The ridiculous mutiplayer load times, such a pain in the ass. Game like Battlefield 3, Uncharted can get you in quick.

 

They are only loading small to medium sized maps. Whats the deal

I think my advice to anyone around level 16or 17 is to hold on and save all the cash you get so you can hit the ground running when you get to twenty. there's some awesome guns available then but they're damn expensive. I'm on lvl22 now and just bought the SPAS (lol, spaz). It's ok, but not much of a step up from the M500. It fires a bit faster and does a little more damage, but I'm a bit disappointed with it stock.

 

Don't know if anyone else was interested in the MP Hawaiian shirt that R* put out. I was, but they're lazy with their shipping options to anywhere besides US/EU -- and it was gonna cost more in shipping fees than the shirt cost.

Anyway, the original place in Hawaii is also selling them, for only 6 bucks shipping - awesome. Smoke that R*.

I assume Michael patcher has no idea what the f*ck he is talking about.According to NPD the sales of mp3 were less than 50% of LA Noire.That means sales of mp3 across all platforms were limited to 450K in US.But on may 22 it was reported by take 2 that max payne 3 'sold in' (not shipped) 3 million units,and if you see the VG CHartz numbers,max payne 3 is doing well in US selling more than a million in US alone.

 

After reading those sources,I came upon his statement bashing mp3 and saying why not develop gta 5 instead.I can sense a simple hatred against this game by him.

 

Continuing,there are TONS AND TONS AND TONS of idiotic GTA fanboys who on every max payne 3 news whine for gta 5.It hurts me,really hurts me that people dont appreciate hard work that Rockstar has put.Really the gaming generation has reduced to solid idoits and morons.

 

 

Having said all that.I know MP3 will sell really well.Obviously take 2 wont lie by saying it sold 3 million units approx.And it's sold,not 'shipped'.

I agree, but unfortunately like half of GTA players are kids, so thats your gaming generation right there, it has always been idiotic in my opinion and R* games is the only company that keeps me playing video games, if it wasn't for them i would be completely over games.

 

I also love how they always deliver high quality, mature games and like you it makes me feel bad whenever i see idiots whining about how "sh*t" is to them L.A. Noire and Max Payne and how they bash R* for not giving us info, i think they don't appreciate those games just because they're not old enough to understand them.

Hey, in MP anyone know what the little medical cross is on the minimap? Is it like a team member who's down and unable to recover? Is there anything you can do for those people - like give em a painkiller? I'd do it if it meant xp.

Nah, they don't last very long.

I'm pretty sure it's a team mate in 'last stand' mode (is that what it is?) when they're down and almost dead but can still fire whatever ammo they have left.

I don't think there's anything team mates can do about, so I don't know why they'd show it.

I've never seen it but most likely I just missed it in the fragfrenzy.

 

But I think you're right, it must be last stand.

 

So all I can think of is the level 3 Big Dog burst with the minimap thingy as a signal for a teammate to use it.

Maybe it's only visible for teammates who actually have the Big Dog burst? Or wait, it probably is a teammate who activated the Big Dog burst. That would make sense, if you're hurt you can run to him and heal.

What's your Social Club name? I'm sitting on about 400 requests atm but we've been freeing up spots by chipping off a few 0 exp inactives periodically. We're always looking to pick up active MP players to replace the placeholder accounts of which we have many unfortunately. You don't have to be some super crazy pro player you just have to actually play as a bare minimum for membership.

On the multiplayer I keep getting disconnected from game due to connection problems it says. It's really annoying is anyone else having this issue? I'm on the PC by the way. This is the only game I have which does this

 

EDIT I've tried port forwarding and I still disconnect from 70% of games. Why can't they have dedicated servers? It's 2012 FFS!

I have the same problems. Maybe not 70% of the games but it happens a lot that I got kicked to the main menu. Seems it's gotten worse after they started the anti-cheat thing.

 

Rockstars support page helped a bit. I mapped ports 27900 and 27901 and now I stay in the game once I'm in. Still can't join some games though and have to sign out of the Social Club to get into the main menu when it happens.

That's what I thought it was.

 

I'm done with this until they patch it. Made it into Legend, but we shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops just to get into a game. They'll patch it before the DLC, surely.

I've just done my port forwarding settings again and I seem to get into games easier now but I suck so bad on the multiplayer. I always seem to die without seeing the enemy and I hate how the player's name will always pop up. It ruins it seeing all these big red names floating around and makes it bloody hard to hide because you have a huge arrow above your head screaming "I'M OVER HERE GUYS!". What's a good loadout for gang wars free aim?

Was lurking on NeoGAF and apparently a good majority of the members hate this game because it's "not Max Payne."

 

 

Seriously? I'm getting really pissed off at people thinking that they know what noir is. Not sure why this argument is still brought up. That includes the whole "fat and bald Max" thing. Yeah, because Max Payne's appearance totally means that the game isn't noir... If anything, I'd understand the hate if you loved Max Payne 1 & 2's cheesiness. MP1 and MP2 were both dark games told as a noir parody, with added homage to Hong Kong action films, pretty much. MP3 flows way better and is fit for this generation, in my opinion.

Use the Urban Camouflage instead of body armour. It dulls your name out, and completely hides it when you're in cover.

Ever watch a John Woo movie? Or play Strangehold? Basically, this was the game series that popularized bullet time in games, and is probably one of the best systems there are out there, its clean and fast.

I just got the FMP G3S - the $10 000 sniper rifle. Man, it's pretty extreme.

I hit one dude in the gut - knocked him off his feet and dead with one shot -- with armour on.

But you can't shoot from the hip at all - it goes straight to the sight.

And the tracking is pretty slow - slower than someone running at right angles.
