Amazing action shooter. Just the best in recent years (shooter of course).

Despite what people were thinking before, only 2 out of 14 chapters are set in favelas. Nice cliche breaker.

Is there anyone know why i can't set my directx Version into dx 11?

I can only played it in 9, if i set them on 10 or 11, it'll not respond and stuck at copyright splash screen.

What are your system specs?

Was about to complete New York Minute Hardcore, but got melee'd and dropped to the floor by some f*cking clown and shotgun'd in the chest on the later stages of Chapter 13.

Guess I'll try again tomorrow...

I have a question regarding the story. At the stadium level, Alvaro Neves said to his right-hand man not to kill Max and Passos—maybe because they aren't being paid to do it. But why at the Branco office level, the dying member of Cracha Preto told Max that they're going after him instead of Rodrigo. He said, "We came to kill you. Because of what you did to us. You killed so many of us." I just don't get it. At first, the Neves told not to kill Max, and now his paramilitary group want Max dead.

^It was a destraction while Rodrigo was being shot in the head upstairs.

Distraction? The dying paramilitary guy said, "Because of what you did to us. You killed so many of us." It looks like they want vengeance on Max.

Victor made agreement with Neves to send his men to attack Branco HQ, he probably didn't want to kill Max and Passos, but then he got paid to attack and probably told his men it was because of revenge.

Now the only thing i didn't understand is who organized Fabiana's kidnap? Did Commando Sombra did this on their own hand or did Victor told them to do this?

Spaghetti Cat

Just finished this last night, was that intense! Also #6 on the PSN side of the crew, woot!

So I figured I'd share the load out that I'm using, seeing as how R* has some of their own on the newswire.

**Using a 'Medium' loadout, it provides a good balance of movement, health regen, and equipment.**

Weapons

Single handed - This is really a tossup between the Auto 9mm and the 1911. The auto 9mm is a great gun, has a really high rate of fire, nice range, and is compact enough to keep a light load. Though it doesn't become available until the rank of 20, so consider using the PT92 if you haven't gotten that far yet. Using the laser and gas upgrades at the moment, and are work with precision. Can't wait to dual wield with this weapon! The 1911 is a really deadly weapon. The gun has an fantastic range for a pistol. I had a hard time using the shotgun on the New Jersey level, the 1911 was my long range shooter, it's that good. The only drawback is the small clip, you will be reloading a lot with this gun. I haven't got there myself yet, but try the extended mag upgrade with the 1911 to compensate for the small clip size. A silencer is also a good choice if you decide to sneak around the map. It drops enemy's with a well placed shot or two.

Two Handed - SF-40. Good rate of fire, decent range, most importantly is light. Though the MPK is an excellent gun, it's a bit to heavy, and you'll end up sacrificing other items later. There are a number of good attachments for the SF-40, but I'm pretty new with the weapon, for right now the laser and silencer are the ones that are on the gun. This makes the SF-40 silent but deadly weapon. The M4 Super 90 is also a good gun if you are willing to cut down the weight in other areas.

Thrown - Frag Grenade. For only two grenades the sure weigh a whole lot! If you were able to save weight in other areas you can afford the hefty nature of this weapon. Somebody probably needs to come up with a good way to explain how to use the nades, esp when aiming, it is an effective room clearer. My troubles come when using it long distances or in tight quarters, always ends up coming back or hitting other teammates! Though there isn't any other thrown weeping, that I have found, that can clear out stubborn bad guys. Special mention for the Tin Can to create a distraction while sneaking. But really, what else are ya gonna do with a tin can?

Perks

Option 1 - Big Dog. This is really helpful with light loads. Usually I don't have on a vest or head protection (heh) so the perk is useful when dodging enemies who, more that likely, have me outgunned. The early level works just for you, but later levels work for the whole team. Really comes in handy during drawn out Deathmatches or Gang Wars. Having that extra burst of protection has tipped the round on more than one occasion.

Option 2 - Paranoia. Most useful while sneaking, or on a large map. Once again I haven't played this enough to give a full report, but it has come in handy. Great if you want to sneak up on someone, or are facing large numbers of enemies. Though one note of caution: the early level is weak. You really need to wait till the later levels for this perk to become fully effective. For example, Friendly Fire is turned on, it's great to watch the opposing team start shooting each other. Honorable mention to Grounded, once again, haven't used it enough to go into much detail, but it's nice while sneaking.

Equipment

Head - Balaclava. If you have the weight for it, go ahead, if not, no worries. This is really optional for me. Only perk you get is from shooting enemies from behind, other than that it's a neat little mask for you character.

Chest - Urban Camo. I can't stress this perk enough. If you only pick one piece of equipment, pick this one. I even tried to build a light weight class once and had to have this item. Why is it so good you ask? That giant billboard posted above your head get's a little harder to see. So what, you say, I want my heavy armor! Well if you don't want the enemy to know you are there in the first place then pick up some Urban Camo. This is really great if you use the cover, bad guys can't see you around the corner. Nothing like blasting fools running to and fro! Pick this if you at all want to sneak around the map.

Slot 1 - Radio If you had two pieces of equipment that are must have it's the Urban Camo along with the Radio. The Radio relays the position of enemy's unto your mini-map. It only works with the bad guys that you teammates can see, so keep that in mind, they can still sneak up on you. I tend to sneak around the map and only shoot when I have to, the radio allows me to know where the opposition is at. So if I need to run towards the enemy, or away, I'll know where he's at. It's pretty heavy, but still it's worth it.

Slot 2 - Sutures. Helps replenish you health at a faster rate. If you don't mind waiting a second to heal, then this perk is for you. Helpful in massive firefights where you have multiple opponents.

Slot 3 - I forgot. No I really did. I'll remember it later and be all like 'why didn't I remember it'! Oh well, it's only open on one of the later rank ups. If I find it I'll repost.

That's all for now, I'll try to post some more tips and tricks later on if you guys are interested. Also give me a shout if you're on PSN, usually on later in the evenings.

Nice loadout, dude. I didn't unlocked most of the things you listed yet, but I'll surely try some of these when I unlock them.

But about the weight of the loadout, I never had a problem with this. Sometimes I play with a heavy loadout and it's not so easy to note the difference between a light and a heavy one.

I went into a bathroom stall in the airport bathroom to run into that ex-cop again for the third time or so. After the cutscene I went back into the stall and the guy was gone. He's a figment of Max's imagination. He's crazy man. mercie_blink.gif

Really? I thought that he was real. He even said that they left the US to work in a charity program in Brazil. There's another tourist that you find two times in the game. Look for him and you will unlock and achievement/trophy.

As Neves and Milo Rego watch Max and Passos leave, they perhaps assume that they were just hiding, and only realise after that they did even more damage to the Crachá Preto than Comando Sombra. Becker's right-hand man Bachmeyer uses the office retaliation attack as an opportunity to assassinate Rodrigo.

We don't really know the answer to the Fabiana bit. They might have just been after money, which Victor then realised he could use, and had it intercepted.

Barry Spock

Great post on Load Out Spaghetti Cat.

This is something I want to talk about but the R*social club comments feed really isn't the place for longer posts.

I hit level 20 - pretty cool how many weapons unlock. I was surprised how spendy something of them are. The big 'Transformers' ones are.

I'm a Mini 30 guy. Sure, maybe it's an over-specced gun, but go with it. For anyone working thru the single figure levels and teens, I definitely reccomend the Mini. When it levels up to having a telescopic sight it's KILLA.

I am a bit of a camper, and sometimes when I'm foccussing on picking someone off on the other side of the field I get tunnel-vision and don't notice an enemy coming up behind and kicking me in the head.

So - Mini 30 - extended clip, gas kit, barrel improvement and tele-sight.

single weapon - M10. I still carry this for running n gunning, although if I keep the aim loose, the Mini again is just as good in close quarters.

- I've tried frag-grenades but I'm just not hat good with them. It's been more for novelty. I removed them because I wasn't getting enough kills for the weight they add.

- Like Spag Cat, the camo shirt is a must for me. Almost to a point where I don't want to tell anyone about it because I want to keep it a secret.

-Burst: I also like paranoia, and Sneaky. Sneaky's great if you can identify who the newbs on the other team are, trigger it then run at them and smack em in the ear. Veterans are usually better at remembering who they've killed.

- add ons -- that brings me to the ID tags add on. This one is basically standard for me. Especially if you've been playing for a couple of hours and there's a whole load of player names swirling around in your head - who the F8ck can remember who was on their team at the start of this game? ID Tags takes a lot of brain strain out of the game by ensuring the other team can't burst paranoia on you.

- I like the lucky coin, esp. now I'm really trying to get dollas again.

I like the booby trap once in a while. You usually get one or two suckers. Poetic justice the other day: my corpse was face down and I didn't recognise him, tried looting, and suicided accidentally! LOL.

Sutures, or the bandaid can be worthwhile if you end up in the Heavy category like this loadout gets me.

Also, with avatars, a lot of those things I mentioned like Sneaky and booby-trap tend to keep me choosing torso/legs etc that keep the avatar boring/normal looking so the enemy don't remember him as easy. No bright sh*t.

__________

Been trying the Bull now I'm at lvl20 just because it looks so badass.

And tried the tear gas grenades and gas mask combo but wasn't really getting any kills with it. Still not totally sure how much damage gas does...

In Chapter 12, when Neves encountered Max he said, " What the f*ck is your problem, man?" Well, it just don't make a sense. If Neves and his men want Max dead, why he said like that. This thing make me confused.

That'd be pretty cool if he wasn't real.

To be honest, the third time I bumped into him I felt kind of bad. He talks about his daughter being there, but he doesn't know where she is because of the the chaos going on - which is Max's fault.

Good point. I think it has to do with his subconscious and his regret or guilt of losing his kid and what he could have been, meaning this guy he keeps running into represents what he could have been if the events of the first game never happened. Just a thought.

Try shooting for the unprotected parts, shoulders and head, eventually worked for me after a sh*tload of deaths. Just finished the game, pretty nice ending.

Fighting Becker is a lot more frustrating.

Especially when you have like 20 UFE soldiers and Becker throwing grenades at you. I found that the one of the hardest levels, followed by Chapter XIII in the police station. Passed it though. The last part is pretty fun.

Yes. I f*cking did it. The final gunshot was an exclamation mark to everything that had led to this point. I released my finger from the right trigger, and then it was over.

In other words, I completed New York Minute Hardcore with about 35 minutes to spare and got the Shadows Rushed Me trophy.
