My laptop is the strongest mobile PC in the house and I dont want hackers/viruses ruins my laptop. So the only time when I use internet, is for Windows Update. When Windows Update is finished, I plugged off the internet LAN cable. R* seriuosley needs to find other optimizations/excellent coders/programmers. They just f*cked up the game. Deeto Posted March 23, 2009 Share Posted March 23, 2009 There is a way to handle the cheaters. In non ranked games if your group seriously does not want them you can vote kick them. In ranked games you can kick them before the game starts. This obviously requires previous knowledge of the player to determine if they do cheat or not. Keep a list of people to kick! For me at least there is a group of people I play with often that I know are not cheaters so there is not much of a problem when we encounter one. It's become very clear that this method does not work. For starters, do you really think it should be a player's responsibility to remember who is a cheater and who isn't? With thousands of MP players online everyday this isn't realistic. The kicking method does not work because it relies on other players to vote. Some players are legit, just clueless and they don't vote. Other times you've got a room with greater than 50% of the people hacking/modding, so you'll never get a majority. Btw, I thought it was interesting that Rock* mentioned the EULA in their argument against modding. Since when do they expect the GTA community to start following the rules of the EULA?? If you have a room with 50% of the people cheating and you don't want to play with cheaters, just leave and find another. No sense in wasting time trying to yell at them to stop or convince them they are ruining your gaming experience. Which is exactly why I never play non-ranked games. From my experience non-ranked games field every new player and kid who wants to screw around and cheat possible. Ranked games seem to attract better players and people who want to play legit. Yes I have encountered a handful of cheaters in ranked but I have reported them on GFWL and added them to my avoided players list. I have only encountered the same cheater twice once before. When I suspect someone is cheating I will follow them or do whatever is necessary to find out if they are really cheating. If they are I simply say in chat "so and so is a cheater" and leave. If everyone else wants to play with a cheater they can stay, but the group of players I play with will leave and create a new game. To be honest the cheating really hasn't been THAT big of an issue for me. I simply do not stay in a game when someone is cheating. Starting a new game is easy enough that there really isn't a problem there. This could also be due to the fact that I mostly play Team Mafia Work and the cheaters would rather just play Deathmatch games and go on killing sprees. No we should not have to keep our own blacklist of players who cheat but when online games on the PC comes into play what do you expect really? Ranked is the only way to play. The only thing you can do is not play their game and get mad/yell at them. This is the exact reaction they want. All you can do is leave the game and find another. If you want someone banned report them to GFWL, once they notice the reports GFWL will have to pay attention to the number of reports 2. Do Not Abuse the system! 3. I like to hate people like you NO.. they didn't. Like I said. In COMPETITIVE online modes, blocking mods and trainers is perfectly acceptable. We should be allowed to choose if we want to play a pure game of MP or not, and whoever's hosting said PURE game should have the ability to kick a cheater that may be spoiling the fun for everyone else. If it's so important to them that we don't mod our game, then what they should do is find the best and most popular mods, which I think are mostly in one native trainer, and actually include them in the next patch, along with a simple "allow cheats? yes/no" option in MP. That way it's no longer a "mod" and it's now a "feature" which they can advertise and make more money, which I'm sure is all they really care about. That way everyone's happy. But will they? How about if someone made a mod to follow you around in games and kicked you from every game you join. I guess from your own reasoning this would be perfectly acceptable. If this f*cking game had dedicated servers there wouldn't be so many f*cking cheaters and this game would actually be fun to play online (although I still enjoy playing with buddies, I don't even bother with ranked stuff). I mean what is this 1995 where everyone's playing P2P? When this game first came out for PC I was so excided for the 32-max player limit but I have yet to see a 32-player game that isn't laggy as f*ck because it's being hosted on some random person's sh*tty upload connection. WE. NEED. f*ckING. DEDICATED. SERVERS. Excuse my f*cking language it has just pissed me the f*ck off since the first day I got the game on PC. I've got a feeling somebody decided to teach you discipline with a Rocket UZI today. I joined Cops and robbers game. 4 seconds into it, 4 cars(diablos) fell from the sky. They basically fell ontop of one another. unless somehow this was a glitch.... I would consider it a cheat.
