Democrat Posted April 4, 2009 Share Posted April 4, 2009 PROBLEM SOLVED (A) hello , soory if am not very good with english , am from lebanon ( = arabic ) hehe , anyways i registred in the forum to solve the problem just follow these steps : 1- Download this file : http://www.mediafire.com/?nyrqx5g5fjm 2- Copy this file to the game directory : usualy : C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV 3- launch gtaiv game from whereever you want , doesnt matter if launchgtaiv or rockstar or bla bla bla and you will see that the game will run normally no more errors ... 4- what happened ?? : that file disabled the games for windows thingie 5- any other things ?? yes , now the saves are located in : C:\Users\***\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames ( *** represents your username ) 6- guess what ? you can copy your old save games to that folder and you can download save games from the net now you can play any offline saved game without anyproblem no more save protection 7- this solution is great for the 1.0.3.0 patch , it works normally and for people arguing about the original paid games , guys no need to pay crack and play my game is cracked by razor1911 , works gr8 that's it , we're done for any more info , msn : [email protected] Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Have russian licence, downloaded russian patch and after installing it and trying to launch with RGSC it simply checking the disk and then do nothing at all...not even displaying any mistake screen. But when launching with GTAIV.EXE the "EFC20" fatal error appears...OMG Rockstar, please do something! Check to make sure you have the latest GFWL redistributable installed. http://www.rockstargames.com/support/IV/PC...Lupdate/RU.html Have you always launched the game with RGSC? Are you able to sign into RGSC? Do you have any idea as to why the PLAY button will not open gtaiv.exe ? i've checked the folder and all the files are there, reinstalled many times still not working. It sounds like the game is failing on the securom license check. Try revoking the license and then when you press the PLAY button it should ask you for the 5x5 key again. Look at Gta San Andreas for example, install the game and run - all done. With Gta IV you gotta install patch 1, patch 2, patch 3 and there is security stuff, and you gotta run setups to make the error messages go away,... why?? for better graphics? Why all this work to run a game? I just want to play! Don't get me wrong, I play Gta IV alot, until today - I installed the latest patch, and came across the same error! GTA IV FATAL ERROR: EFC20. I like Gta IV, but I wish Rockstar would have made it more simple to manage, like San Andreas or Vice City. Then I would play it more. I'm guessing that patch 3 is the culprit here because it worked just fine before the install. Any suggestions, help would be mostly appriciated... I have found a razor 1911 fix for patch 1.0.4.0(patch included so you don't need to download it and that's why it's 50 MB.
