The game was running rather well on 1.0.2.0, now it won't even start... I just get "GTA IV Fatal Error Invalid Resource Detected" when I try and run the game... This has been probably said, but it doesn't hurt to repeat - fix those fekking car drivers spawning inside visible range. bukkit Posted March 24, 2009 Share Posted March 24, 2009 (edited) COPS! , fewer patrols , faster cop cars , improving AI and aggresion ,,, the problem is that there is a bunch of them on every corner , bud they are too slow , too stupid , and u can get rid of them on a few 100meters , even 3 stars. so gta is lacking of the chase fun factor , no spectacular chasing or similar fun things with cops (that was my favourite thing to do in GTA2) apropo car chases ... improving the car controls. AA or DX10 would be gr8 , but no reason for wishing for that , cause imo that will never come. GTA V wish list : enhance the genre , i know its kinda fun, but this genre is waaay to old , missions r boring , just drive there kill somebody , take a new job , watch cutseen , and here we go again. it should be about desicions and dialogues , not just watchin cutseens and see how niko is making his own desicions , or how he yell at roman for no reason , it should me more like a rpg (fe fallout 2) where your steps have a huge influence on the storyline. also it would be a nice touch to implement the time factor into the game , now u can just make mission after mission , and finish the game during the one gametime month , which is unreal (ex : roman is in depth and russians wanna kill him , the next day he calls me that he had won a bunch of money and buyed a fine apartment WTF?) it should be more like mafia where it takes few years to finish the main story, introducing all seasons would be cool. missions should be more complex ...just compare the bank job in mafia , days of preparation , tense atmosfere and stuff ,,, here ? just take 4 guys to the bank and shoot all cops ...lame. the new genre would be the best step (mile jump forward) blending a sandbox action game with rpg features and talking to people , and chosing your own destiny , building up your character and personality. to the technical aspect , 1person option would be fine , i mean not making a fps from it (like they messed up fallout 3) but just to dive into the virtual world and smell the athmosfere from the direct first person look (who knows how popular would be the nvidia 3D technology when gtaV will come out) walking down the street and enjoying the enviroment , and then jumping to the 3rd person whenever you like euphoria physics is just great (hope to see it in the new max payne) they should do it even better , and introduce the molecular physics like in starwars force unleashed , destructive enviroment is a must ofc .) also more interier enviroments would be great ... thats about it , things that should the next patch fix (shame that wouldnt happen) and my hopes for a gtaV with enhanced genre and storytelling.... hope u enjoyed my blog if not , just scroll on , scroll on Edited March 24, 2009 by bukkit Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Now i installed MY game (Because i PAID for it) and installed version 1.0.2.0 because then i can spawn cars instead of searching hours to find my car to drift.... Then i putted my handling.dat in it... First i can drift with my handling.dat (this was version 1.0.2.0 to!!!) and now not??? This is f*cking bullsh*t Rockstar.... I didn't paid for a game to play like you guys want. I PAID FOR IT SO I CAN DRIFT WITH MY DUDES ONLINE. LIKE THE OLD TIMES IN GTA SA. Now i gonna uninstall gta IV and bring it back to the shop where i get it. You guys sucks really. Your not only ruining MY game but for the others who liked to mod too!!!!! Damn Rockstar.... elBATCHo Posted March 24, 2009 Share Posted March 24, 2009 patch 1.03 worked very nice for me. i can run the Text filter and Shadows on Very high and everything else on High with no problems on 1680 res, and my FPS NEVER drop below 25 or so, anything above 25 is smooth. what really sucks about this game is the aliasing, it looks HORRIBLE when look at street poles, stairways, random objects on the street, cars, etc, everything has those nasty edges on it, and Blurr effect makes it look like Xbox 360 on a 720 tv If this game was a very fast pace game liek Crysis I wouldn;t care about anti aliasing, i dont run it in Crysis because you can;t tell, you're always moving and have no time to notice the aliasing. unlike GTA4 where you are crusing the streets, walking thru a park or sidewalk etc... Update the R* Games Social Club so you can share what you create and GTA IV would rock. I want a assassination mission that has you go kill all of the security guards at one of the strip clubs because some pimp isn't getting his cut of the action. After you kill the strip club security guards the strippers would come after you and you have to loose/get ride of them before the mission is complete. I would like to be able to do san andreas version of fight where you could sneak up behind and slit that throat. Furthermore I would like a 50 % damage increase for the knife because right now it hits for about the same as regular fist. Ability to at least in some way be able to jump from a place and grab onto an object while falling. Ie jumpinf off roof and grabbing a balcony rail on the way down. Ability to climb onto a object that is not a roof and not automatically jump to the other side. (ie those things that prevent you from running off roof that are a couple feet wide) Ability to use cellphone via shortcuts and not through interface. There's not a single person in the world right now who will benefit from v-sync. I've never seen anyone have a benchmark of over 85 FPS in this game. Since R* has its tongue up M$' arse (GFWL) they are trying their best to screw everyone who refuses to buy a 360 pad. They pretended to add support for direct input devices but have botched it not once, not twice, but thrice. No one is that incompetent, not even EA. In, 1.0.4.0, i think they should try address the problems other people are having with crashes and such, and im sure theres a memory leak in there still (dropped from 40/45fps down to >10fps after a couple of hours play, thats only happened once for me), but i cant personally ask them to improve this game much further without straying into the territory of a GTA 5 discussion. I've tried everything, it's up to Rockstar now to fix it. No point in improving performance and adding more graphics options when it's all going to break within a few minutes. Serious stuttering, textures flashing and some not even loading. And when I close the game due to all this, it takes 5 minutes for it to close. And during that 5 minutes, my computer goes incredibly slow. Whereas on other PC games, it takes less than 10 seconds to finish closing with hardly any slow down. God damn you Rockstar Toronto. Thanks for confirming that you are a sh*t driver. Having to slow down for corners is one of the major aspects of driving that is the hardest to master. I think i can speak for most of the people i race with that the vanilla handling of the sports cars (comet is my drug of choice, due to great oversteer and handbrake response), if f*cking brilliant, just because you want a car that drives on rails doesnt mean that is in any way what a car handles like when pushed round a corner. Only gripe i have is the lack of realistic accelerator response while sliding, which non of the amateur mods out there are likely to be able to address since it is probably a game engine issue.
