They said that the 1.0.4.0 patch will prepare the game for the next gold build ! That means that they will release one more patch and will sell DVD with GTA 4 1.0.5.0. Of course they also can sell DVD with 1.0.4.0. But they didn't do anything from July ! Or June ?? Stupid? Today we released a Maintenance Update for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV. This update ensures all copies of the game are properly aligned for the next gold master build pressing. We have also improved the resource management numbers to detect and adjust accordingly to different operating systems. I mean why would they bother saying that if they weren't going to release a future patch? Sure it's been ages, but there's a lot of reasons why Rockstar hasn't released it yet (smiler_16 has a good point). I don't know if there will be another patch, at the moment all signs point to the fact we have been pretty much abandoned (as have PS3 users). read it... I'm still expecting a 5th patch, but I must admit that hope is fading. Lots of time without any announcement... if you we don't see a patch by the end of November, then I must say Rockstar gave up. I've been around this for some time now, and the gaming industry is the one where most things aren't granted. Exclusivity being one of them. How many games in the past years were announced for various platform but in the end were released for just some? How many games were exclusive and some months later they appeared on other platforms? How many times producers and developers say "don't expect this game on X platform" and in the end they release for that platform? Man, we just see a tiny bit of what's going on. "Behind the curtain" there are lots of deals and conversations going on that we don't even imagine. Who can tell what are the plans for future GTA games on the PC? No you, not me, that's for sure. Facing things properly, there is a chance of getting both DLCs on the PC. For PS3 I agree it is a lot harder, and I'm not seeing that happening. But for the PC there's a good chance, so stop being so negative and start thinking on the possibilities. As for the patch, I admit that it's been a long time since we got any news on that matter, still I'm not ready yet to say "we won't get more patches". After TBOGT, we'll see. Smiler-Online Posted October 26, 2009 Share Posted October 26, 2009 Microsoft just continue to make me believe that they are trying to make PC gamers move to Console, but if they continue and make PC gaming become so bad that we have to move to consoles to enjoy games in the future then I'll move to Sony's latest console because of the fact that Sony are much more loyal to their customers, maybe Microsoft do have the most succesful console right now, but I'd rarther buy from a loyal and respectable company!. The next GTA won't be "V", it will be new games (plural) built on IV, so they have absolutely NO reason not to patch the game, nor would it cause so-called embarrassment. The better IV runs, the better the next games run. There is no reason not to patch this game, and they know it, and they built it to last, and I have a strong feeling the next games will expand IV in a more direct way than the episodes do anyway. I agree...If there will be a patch it'll come with a DLC possibly TLAD in February or March...Microsoft may release it from GFWL like in Xbox LIVE add-on and it'll cost 1600 microsoft points (They already start releasing add-ons for another games in GFWL like Fallout 3,Street Fighter IV,etc...)....By the way if they agree with Rockstar not releasing a DLC for PC edition there wont be a pack %99... It literally IS a conspiracy, and it involves more than gaming. They are only using gamers as their "army". I wrote about it and it covers 6 distinct parts of the plot and how it works at pc gaming is dying post on my personal blog. Maybe you will be interested, I would like to know if you noticed these things as well, and if you have, can we network? I love forums, this is how we meet new friends back to about the patch: I really think 1.0.5.0 is a given, when I really think about it there are a few very important things left to do over the next few months, and they are things I can see taking a while, and even longer due to the patch needing approval (and due to the last time they told us they got grief, so they will just let it come out on it's own).
