Smiler-Online Posted October 17, 2009 Share Posted October 17, 2009 (edited) they are probably trying to add dx 10 and/or dx 11 support + AA +1 I imagine that they are going to make it DX11 compatable with the next patch which may be due roughly about the same time as W7 is released. and obviously this would help to fix many of the problems that the game currently has, including the lack of AA support and the overall performance improvements would be nice!. and I would imagine that Microsoft had quietly payed R* to release a patch to enable DX11 support once W7 and DX11 is available, which may explain why R* made the stupid decision to release the game without DX10 compatabillity.... It's really annoying when you cant kick some ppls from server, because some players don't know how to vote kick... You just need to look at Rockstar Toronto's account they haven't been here since Sep 1 2009, 18:55. Now if that isn't a clear indication they have moved on then I don't know what is. Me personally GTA 4 is reaching the end of it's life on my PC. I will be unstalling it sometime later this week in preparation for the retail versoin of Win7 and I doubt very much I will be bothering to reinstall the game again. I agree that I don't expect another patch for this game, they indeed seem to have moved on. Having said that, I still run the game on occasions, and to me it's by far the best GTA game ever. Yes, there is heaps of speculation as to why its taking so long, or if it is ever going to come out. But in the old sticky topic 1.0.4.0 Maintenance Patch, Rockstar clearly stated that 1.0.4.0 was a 'maintenance patch' for a future Gold Master Build patch. I mean why would they bother saying that if they weren't going to release a future patch? Erm I think you read what they said a wee bit wrong :- Today we released a Maintenance Update for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV. This update ensures all copies of the game are properly aligned for the next gold master build pressing. In other words they need to make more discs, so they did an updated version of GTA 4 made a new master copy and printed more copies from that master copy. The new copy you buy in the shops now will be the fully updated one to 1.0.4.0 (ie you won't have to update it). The maintenance patch was just to bring our versions into line with the new version being sold. As many have speculated this is a clear signal that the likelihood of new patches is remote. I don't know if there will be another patch, at the moment all signs point to the fact we have been pretty much abandoned (as have PS3 users). There is a hell of a lot more going on in GTA 4 than there ever is in Fallout 3. I am not complaining because Fallout 3 is meant to be empty and devoid of life which makes it particularly silly to compare it to GTA 4. As for GFW being optional in Fallout 3 !!!!!! erm since when ? Sure you can create an offline profile in Fallout 3 but GFWL is still there. Just like you can create an offline profile in GTA 4 but GFWL is still there. As for GTA 4 needing a 22nd Century PC it's odd how I can play it on my 2ish year old Quadcore then isn't it ? I bought the parts from ebuyer and last time I checked they weren't operating in the 22nd century. New content will eventually delivered. Expect a "universal" expansion pack, that is a new DLC / GTA IV package available for all platforms featuring new fundamental elements, gameplay and perhaps resource management. They need something slightly massive during to continue revenue throughout their development in GTA V. Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption should also feature the newest version of euphoria. It lacks in gta4, even after four patches WTF, those thing pissed me off, it's not normal on medium textures and on high textures the fps is the same and not only that-shadows looks like a wool , popping up textures... so this game need from a good patch.
