Rockstar Toronto Posted March 21, 2009 Author Share Posted March 21, 2009 Curse you Rockstar Toronto, now I have an excuse to play GTA 4 all over again race everyone to the clock tower to see it working CC, the online is so damn sweet atm! I've been playing free mode and co-op, and you don't find one damn cheater! And everyone that I played with was commenting on how good this was. Occasionally a cheater would join just to say "you're fags, Rockstar sucks" and similar stuff. Haha, priceless! It will be some time before I get to try it because for some f*cking reason this patch has decided it it won't install on my machine because "the rockstar social club isn't present" well that is pretty f*cking odd since the damn Rockstar Social f*ckING club is right here on my task bar and since I can launch the damn game FROM the social club window. I mean correct me if I am wrong but doesn't that mean the f*cking social club is present. Sorry just incredibly pissed off with this sh*t, Rockstar Toronto is it possible for you to get one damn thing right. Oh and if you dare go "are you using a legal copy" I swear I will do some banning, I have two damn legal copies here. Charlie, that means the installer doesn't know where to put the files. You have no idea how infuriating it is having people complain that GTAIV has no AF just because there wasn't an option specifically called that, now that it's called texture filtering maybe they'll shut up. Hey, look back at your 1.0 options screen, and look at today's 1.03 option screen. 1.0 looks like a funny joke now. Actually, it seemed like a sick joke then, too. I think R* needs to release a hot-fix to unban the forced originals on the files that don't lend any kind of gameplay wise advantage. sallino Posted March 21, 2009 Share Posted March 21, 2009 This patch is very bad... On my pc (in sign) the performance are worst than before, now fps drop under 30 easily... Before this patch rarely. And now the game stutters much than before. And, the option for put down the shadow is not optimized... If you put off the shadows you earn a lot of fps (60 on algonquin lol) but the game stutters A LOT. I keep this patch just because I want to play in multiplayer. It still insisted the social club does not exist . I have just solved it, I completely uninstalled the RGSC did a reboot and reinstalled the RGSC and now I am fully patched again. Jehuva Posted March 21, 2009 Share Posted March 21, 2009 Yo! After i downloaded and installed this patch i started to get fatal errors etc lol and its only freaking few days old game for me... Didnt ever have any mods or anything that doesnt belong there. ANyway i was able to start up the game from gtalaunch.exe and it goes to main menu but when i try to go to actually in game after it starts loading story complete it just instantly crashes to windows.... I'v seen quite many has this problem so is there something i'm missing now...?!?! bought from steam re-installing game from backups now, hoping it will help since someone said it helped him. Have you checked to see if there are any firmware updates for your motherboard? This has corrected stutter issues for some Phenom users. Which video driver are you using? Missing objects reinstated in a *huge* plus for me and the improved multiplayer security measures are superb. I'm really impressed that R* now acknowledge that modding in single player is a major part of the GTA IV PC experience.. Nice not to have to recode all mods just to work on 1.0.3. However, I just realised that I'm running modified visual settings and the explosion file to get a different effect. I also have the timecyc changes to improve performance etc.. My question is, how are you guys planning to work the game so that you can run modified files for single player but then also be able to play multiplayer? Am I right in thinking that to be able to play multiplayer it's an all or nothing type of deal? I.E. I'll need to manually restore all modified files first before thinking of playing online and then restore them back for each single player session? Seems like a major hassle.
