Just completely eliminating the ability to have mods online is wrong. I think stopping the mods from ruining every game was important and necessary, but modding is also important and therefore there should be a pure online mode where absolutely no mods can go AND there should still be an un-pure online mode where mods may be used. Now you really shut up You you modder lol LOL, I won't shut up. Almost every game on the market is modded and allows mods online. GTA IV should be no different and should have pure and un-pure modes. I want to be able to use mods in free mode with my friends, we had a lot of fun with the spawners and trainers. But I also want to play in clean, mod free TDM and racing servers, because I don't like being cheated. We should have pure and un-pure capability when playing online, period. Although I do not intend to make machinimas right now, I intend to make some in the future so I hope you guys can fix this. I've been playing free mode and co-op, and you don't find one damn cheater! And everyone that I played with was commenting on how good this was. I don't want it to break it again then having to redownload 14gigs. Just to be safe, I'd recommend you wait a bit and see if steam updates their version too. Steam games are usually never updated with patches outside their own system, so it's probably not a very good idea. Backup your Steam files first. Wheels still do not work in the PC version of this game, despite being advertised as supported. Unless you consider a wheel with 180 degree deadzone (which is where all the steering happens anyway) a working wheel... It will be some time before I get to try it because for some f*cking reason this patch has decided it it won't install on my machine because "the rockstar social club isn't present" well that is pretty f*cking odd since the damn Rockstar Social f*ckING club is right here on my task bar and since I can launch the damn game FROM the social club window. I mean correct me if I am wrong but doesn't that mean the f*cking social club is present. Sorry just incredibly pissed off with this sh*t, Rockstar Toronto is it possible for you to get one damn thing right. But just drive around very fast with a car? Is that annoying? Or spawn a Sultan RS, not millions, just one to drive? Or spawn a Sultan RS, not millions, just one to drive? First I thought that its because of the mods but as I removed all of them the message was still there. Using the original LaunchGTAIV.exe fixed the problem and I was able to start the game and get to the menu. After checking the options screen I tried starting the game but during loading it crashed (no error message) only windows error reporting. I thought the savegame might be corrupt so I created a new offline account and tried starting a new game. I got through the loading screen and the intro audio started playing but after just a second the game crashed. Same thing no error message. What's going on, really not in the mood for 40 minute reinstall because a patch ruined my perfectly working game. Anyway, did a complete reinstall. Games working now, on to test if the mods do.
