Rebel
I still don't get how you thought an Avatar armour was for AC2... I was so hyped for the game I actually didn't bother to check the actual front of the leaflet so it was pretty much the code and the writing on the back of it. Not to mention why would you put a code into a game that wasn't even out for ages, and for another game? Probably a good thing I've only ever done it once. Abel.
This is immeasurably shambolic, an absolute slap in the face to the PC gamers, like myself, that have been awaiting this release for far longer than console owners. Assassin's Creed was excellent on the PC (despite reported porting flaws) due to its improved textures, brilliant controls and lack of DRM. Ubisoft has lost my sale of Assassin's Creed 2, I have never obtained a computer game through illicit means, but it's going to start with Assassin's Creed 2. This is beyond idiocy for various reasons: 1.This will gain Ubisoft absolutely no sales, Assassin's Creed attracts a small crowd on the PC, nevertheless, there are many gamers who have been waiting intently past the delays that Ubisoft claim have been employed to "deliver the best possible experience" and, consequently, I assure you we shall all be using an alternate method to play the game. And no, I don't mean resorting to consoles. 2.Not only is Assassin's Creed not a highly sought-after PC game, but it boils down to this: if a pirate wants a game, they'll get it, regardless of copy-protection, if a law-abiding citizens wants to buy it, they'll buy it. Simple. 3.Ubisoft has lost otherwise guaranteed sales of their videogame, which, sadly, I have sampled personally and can comment that it is not only excellent, but clearly a product of laborious work for the company. I have been a massive fan of the series since the originals PC debut, I own merchandise including an Altair figurine and the brilliant Oliver Bowden novel: Assassin's Creed Renaissance. To be honest, It doesn't feel right to unjustly acquire the company's latest game, but this needless copy protection has driven me to it (unless, of course, a hack for the game is released that puts a stop to the intrusive system conclusively). However, this is the least of my grievance towards this decision. What about console pirates? I not only know of the countless XBOX 360 gamers who pirated MW2 prior to its official release, but I also know of a few personally. Why does this bother me? Normally, it wouldn't, but it is undeniably unfair for Ubisoft to adopt this system without it also being subjected to all current console gamers, who, with slight modification, could just as easily pirate the game for themselves (although, thankfully, this isn't the case, hope I'm not bloody inspiring Ubisoft to act upon this hypothesis ). Conclusively, I believe the system should be abolished outright, if not by some clever hackers, but by Ubisoft themselves. Come on, throw down your laurels, Ubi! ptiko
The funny thing is, ubisoft will be like "WELL, IT DIDN'T SELL WELL ON THE PC DERP, WE WONT MAKE ANYMORE GAMES FOR IT DERP"

Algonquin Assassin
I finished Assassin's Creed 2 the other day in about 22 hours, and I must say what a completey f**ked up, and bizzare ending lol. I've been replaying Assassin's Creed to try, and get a better understanding, but I just don't enjoy it as much as 2. Sure it's a good game, but honestly the jump to 2 is like GTA III, to VC. The first one is gritty, and serious like GTA III, and 2 has a more light hearted, and "brighter" atmosphere like VC. Well that's how I see it. WedgeAntilles
So I've been playin ACII for a while now, about halfway through the story for the 3rd time, got one save with pretty much everything completed. I must say it has been a long time since a game sucked me in so much, hell I am enjoying this more than GTAIV (the horror!!) Anyway imagine my disapointment when today I fire it up feeling like a bit of killing and prancing around on rooftops and I get this error message: Registration of the trophy information could not be completed. The game will now quit. (8001050F) and thats it, thats all i get upon start up! I'm playing on my PS3 which I've never had no trouble with before! Whate could have caused this? When I try to look at my trophies I can't see any of the ACII ones there, is this why? All my other games seem to be just fine! I have a feeling that if I delete all the game data utility and saves that prehaps it might work, BUT as I said earlier i have completed the game completley and it would be nice not to have to go and get EVERY f*cking feather AGAIN!! Any ideas? Anybody hear of this or something similar prehaps with another game even? And possible remedies? My PS3 is not online btw.

I guess since today or yesterday was the added day that only occurs in a leap year the PS3 resets to a past date which doesn't marry up with what the PS Network's date is. David.
Check out the reviews and forums post on this game on PC. http://www.amazon.com/Assassins-Creed-2-Pc...68308117&sr=8-1 Serves them right for 60 $+ always internet connection+ constant server crashes. What happened to UBISOFT? I'm boycotting this until they remove this stupid DRM. Just wanted to know what other PC gamers think about this....... copperwire93
Same goes to me, first it's their crappy Starforce DRM that made my disc screech like idiot. Now, this new internet-required DRM. f*ck them! I'm not gonna buy this game even they going to remove it later for their arrogant thinking. I hope they got more losses than profits. If they do the same thing on Splinter Cell : Conviction... well, double f*ck em!
AndyGanteks
Does anyone know how this uplay thing work? I am on PS3, and wheever i click on PS3 to access it, the system and everything just freezes, so i went to the site here: http://uplay.uk.ubi.com/win/actions-reward...assins-creed-ii and noticed i got 50 uplay pts, enough to unlock altair otufit, extra map and so on. So what i want to know is, i just ''unlock'' it via that site, and next time i am in game, i will be able to select the outfit, or buy the knieves, or go the the hidden tomb? Long Haired Freaky Guy
Sorry for the huge bump, but thought it would be best to bump this then to start a new topic. Anyway, just completed the story the other day, and all I have left to do on the game is to crack 4 of the glyphs (it's the one with riddles and you have to choose the correct 5 pictures...tempted to google it but not yet), and all the side stuff, but the game feels empty now that the story is complete...makes me wish I did all the side-stuff before completing the story. I have a question though; my radar says that there is a treasure chest on the villa, but I can't for the life of me find it anywhere. I climbed on the roof, went into the attic, cellar...evwrywhere, but still can't find it...anyone else had this probem? Anyway, on a side-note, really enjoyed the game, if I dare say, much more then IV...

JOSEPH X
Anyway, on a side-note, really enjoyed the game, if I dare say, much more then IV... I would definitely put it up there with IV. I honestly don't know how I missed this. I think it was the AC1 missions being a bit samey that put me off. This is a totally different game altogether - it's beautiful. I've just finished the Desmond part and opened up Venice, so I've paused the story and I'm exploring Florence, Forli, Tuscany and renovating the Villa. I've just finished the Desmond part and opened up Venice, so I've paused the story and I'm exploring Florence, Forli, Tuscany and renovating the Villa. After completing this game, I actually rate it higher then IV. ACII was the first one I played of the series, so the whole concept of the game was great, such as all the facts/history you learn whilst playing a great game. I'm actually considering starting the game again, but I'm wanting to get 100% on the first save file first. Only problem is, as I stated, having no main missions to do and only side-missions left makes it abit repetitive, so am finding myself hardly touching this game. Another reason for wanting to start the game over again is to fully capture the story and the events. I found myself rushing through the game the first time round, simply because I couldn't put it down so just ended up finishing it within like 2 days. Oh, and as for the treasure chest at the Villa, it's underneath the villa in the tomb. Completed all the Glyphs, collected all the feathers, now all I have left is a few Assassin Contracts, treasure chests and some of the other various side-stuff. Algonquin Assassin
I don't know how many will agree with me, but playing 2 after 1 was like playing VC after GTA III. I do like Assassin's Creed, but it was 2 that made me a fan of the series. I could never really get into 1's "grittiness". 15th century Renaissance Italy is definitely more appealing to me. Although one thing I did like about 1 was how each assassination had a precise plan. Not really sure why that wasn't present in 2. In general most of the missions in 2 were done a bit more "GTA-ish" which is why I probably like it more. Chewie
It's really weird how the first games graphics seem better than the second, and ACB has the best out of all of them.
JOSEPH X
I've noticed that in 2, you can go in all swords blazing, apart from the missions where you fail if you're detected. It's much more satisfying when you do an assassination stealthily. I've got a bug it seems in one of the glyph paintings, it won't let me rotate the outermost circle to make the picture. Loving the tombs, the platforming is excellently done.

It wont let me move it independently. That's may not be a glitch. Some circles are linked to more than one circle. So those outer-most circles may be stuck together, but one of them may be independently linked to one of the inner circles. For example, circle 5 and 6 may be linked together, but circle 5 may also be linked to circle 2 giving you the ability to turn those two without turning circle 6.
