chris
This car gets better every time i see it, i would say paint it black and roll like Al Capone but the paint on yours looks really good, is it the original paint job? If so thats pretty awesome.
Illousion
Nah it's not the original, it sucks actually. It has small drips here and there  Did a quick little photoshopping of how i want it to look sometime. Chrome reverse wheels and i modified the grilles.  The wheels turned out pretty bad, quality wise, but the car looks damn good this way in my oppinion. Kaj.
If you lowered the saturation a bit and tweaked the hue of the rims, they'd probably look ace.

Illousion
Triple trouble. Â I've started to work on it again, I'm in the middle of changing the dash and windshield. Here's as it sits right now. Dash is out, suddenly the car was soooo roomy. These shocks are probably from the 70's but brand new. My father had them lying around on the shelves in his parts store, so I thought why not put them to use? Old dash, out and about. New dash freshly painted, turned out damn good. Also found some big holes of rust behind the right front fender. Old cars in a bad climate, ey? Decided to fix it right away. Â Well, that's it for now. Hopefully I can get 'er back on the road ASAP. Illousion
It's my duty, their getting somewhat rare. Â Worked a little on 'er before the rain came. As it sits right now. Â Welded the holes, turned out pretty decent. Â Rustproofing! Â Polished the crome around the indicator, upper is before and lower is after. Â Thunder and rain then came and interrupted, so here I am. Â Â Semi-whitewalls, yay/nay? Dreaming of California, where the sun never sets. Illousion
Thank you gentlemen! -------------------------------------------------------------------- Started to mount the rear front fender again, but found out this thing had rotted. It keeps the fender in place. Â Quick fix. Â Managed to find two more holes under the car. Â Removing the other fender. The light housing is some aftermarket crap made of plastic. Â The previous owner must have painted the car with the chrome on it. Â This indicator is finished. Got another one somewhere in the garage though. Â What I use to play music while I work. Â Other fender is off, nothing looks too bad here. Â But after a date with the knife some holes turned up. Â Â The front end is in kinda bad condition. Got another one, along with some fenders that I'll swap some day. Â Â The hood isnt in the best of condition. Â As it sits right now. Â Found this huge hole under the hood. Fifty bucks and a sandwich says that alot of the water that I've found inside the car is caused partly by this. Actually the whole engine bay needs a total makeover, but that aint going to happen anytime soon. Â That's it for now, folks! Dreaming of California, where the sun never sets. The Sound of Milli Vanilli?!
Â Man, talk about looks can be decieving. That thing has more rust than my bug does! Hell, the 122's I see at the junkyard aren't as bad as this (though I've only seen a few). Thats the swedish road salt for ya! Â Anyway, What engine has that thing got? B18 or B20? Are you planning on tuning it or something? dog_day_sunrise
What kind of HP will a motor like that generate? It looks very tidy, twin Weber 45s?
The Sound of Milli Vanilli?!
Â What kind of HP will a motor like that generate? It looks very tidy, twin Weber 45s? I'm not really sure what that engine is tuned with, but id guess slightly over 200, maybe 230hp since it's got the 45's on. From what i know their quite hard to tune over 300hp without Turbo, but it is possible if you make it into a 16v since there are aftermarket kits for that. Â My 142 which I'll be getting next Thursday has one of these newly renovated. I'm planning on putting on some double 40 Weber or Dellorto's on it. Â Currently the fastest B20 in engine in a 142: Â 588hp, not bad for a 2 liter 50 year old engine!. Edited July 10, 2010 by The Sound of Milli Vanilli?! Lurch
Aren't Dellorto's just reworked Webers? From what I remember, the only way to really differentiate the two was that the Weber came in a 44 and the Delllorto came in a 45.

Could always hit up both, VW and Volvo, swap meets to try and piece together a kit as cheaply as possible.

Illousion
Not at all, atleast you guys taught me something. Â @Vanilli Since it's a '67 it has a B18. Only tuning planned right now is the Weber 36 i've got in the garage. -- So yeah, not much has happened since last time. Have some more rust, here in the engine bay. Â Cutting 'er out, infront of the pedals. Â Knocked a hole in this one, good thing I've got two more lying around. Â I also started taking apart some Amazon parts I have, hope I can use something.
