Will 3D Analyze help me get a smoother gameplay

I have a crappy system and am wondering if 3D Analyze would help to make GTA 3 run smoother (higher fps)

2.2 GHz Celeron processor

768 MB RAM (just upgraded biggrin.gif )

64 MB intel 82845g graphics card

I'm currently on Stauton Island and sometimes the game would be running sooo slow I'm sure the fps would be at like 3-5. By sometimes I mean 50% of the time.

Try set lower resolution - this helps in most of cases. GTA3 is very unoptimized game.

I have it on absolutly minium 600x something and 16 colour

Trails are off and draw distance at medium.

Also the 82845g intel graphics card is integrated among everything else in this crappy Dimension 2350

Would 3D Analyze help to increase frame rate?

I doubt that. Most of the features that the analyser tweaks might already be absent in your graphic card. But still, if you know what you're doing then go ahead and give it a shot.

And turn down your draw distance further to its lowest value.

There's no guarantee that 3D-Analyze will make your game completely playable, although it might help in emulating features that your on-board graphics lacks.

If you're still experiencing an unbearable lag, turn off the frame rate limiter in the video options of the game.

Your PC is better than mine except videocard.Buy a new videocard(AGP interface probably).

Well AGP is probably the only type that'll work for the guy so PCI-E is outta the question.

try turning trails off, frame limiter off and frame sync on

and 1024x768x32bit

this my work (you can try 800x600 if in this resolution you have lag)

You're probably lucky that such a graphics chipset is supported, my old system had an Intel 82810E which also barely ran GTA3 and Vice City. Both games ended up with missing textures that took 5-10 seconds to load after stopping the car!

Stef_92: I don't think the Intel chipsets supported 32-bit until recently, if ever - my HP machine was limited to 24-bit back then (which all games hate so it ran everything in an even lower 16-bit), and to make matters worse, it used 32MB of the PC's SDRAM since it didn't have any of its own. Glad I'm not using the Povilion any more, it didn't even have an AGP slot!

Edit: This is practically identical to my old post in the 16MB Mobility Radeon topic...why do people ask the same things? AFAIK 3D Analyze only sets up 'options' like window and wireframe modes.

I'll have (in a couple of day) as a gift Dell Inspiron 1000, which is with 2.2GHz Celeron, 512 MB RAM and Sis M650 video (64MB shared memory). The video is DX7.0, but doesn't support hardware T&L, and will run GTA poorly, so I'll be glad to know if someone experimented with 3D Analyze. Thanks in advance.

Heihachi_73, actually you're right. I've never seen bmp image 32bits. I've seen 24bits

Yeah it could help but.., it's pretty strange you lag on GTA III xD. I have a bad computer too so my IV and SA lags too.(I never lag on III and VC) The problem is you have to get a lower resolutrion and lower everything. Put your draw distance low too... And NEVER turn on your anti aliasing it makes really lag. If you did that and still lag, yeah then go use 3d analyze.(I use it for IV ^.^)

@Terorking: Please don't bump old topics.

PS. This guy has the worst PC of 2009, even GTA III from 2001 doesn't run smooth on his PC/lappy lol.
