Yeah, I 100% agree that the DYOM database should be upgraded.

 

It's currently a "random upload network", where you can upload any kind of crap with any kind of name... Registration, Moderators and Login would be good. So there wouldn't be "password for missions". And many other sh*t. wink.gif

 

But what's with the "the Car will fall down dozingoff.gif " ?

 

Seriously, if the cutscene is so close to the player with the car, the car won't fall down, because the area is ALREADY LOADED. LOL! OMG I JUST USED MY BRAIN!!!!1111

 

Or, maybe a script that forces GTA to load all the map.

There was a memory limit hack which I believe does something like that(or at least loads textures faster), but it would require a strong computer, since the SA map is huge and the game would most likely lag.

My idea : for cutscene > when you put a cutscene there will be 2 options > add & done. If you select add, that means to add another cutscene. And when we select edit, there will be a box with cutscene 1, 2, and so on, and when we select this cutscene there will be a box contain > cutscene 1, 2, .....

The cutscene that we selected will change into yellow. And then this group of cutscenes can be skipped so, we don't need to press space repeatedly until the objective.

That would be nice, but DYOM provides more opportunities for making shooting missions.If you want those features for a racing mission, just spawn the player near a tuning garage.

Yes, DYOM is more kill one objective... It's only used to make shootouts.

Hi,

 

I have a nice idea which may make DYOM more usable for people writing 'classic' SCM scripts -- an exporter. It should (either from within SA, or as separate application) export all (or most) coordinates and IDs of objectives, spawns and such. I really like the DYOM designer interface, and it would be really cool if it could be used as a prototyping tool for SCM coders. If there were some format documentation of the DYOM mission files, I could have written a 'exporter' myself, but there do not seem to be any docs, and the script file is protected. sad.gif

We've presented this possibility already somewhere on this forum, but it's not something high priority at the moment.

What we would like to have is the (far) future, is a feature that will generate the SCM code for the designed mission, that can easily be adopted.

To reply on my own idea, I have started work on a text exporter (4.1 isn't protected anymore, and Sanny places original variable names... yay biggrin.gif ) which gives output like this:

also, a special key for mission designers which will let them skip objectives when they test missions. i am sure that everyone wants this, especialy the ones who make cutscenes.

how about a .co.uk version of the DYOM website. yes i know you speak English but sometimes the Mission Diolougue is confusing to me as its not how people in the UK talk (Not that your doing a bad job at speaking English) Just like i said it can be confusing at times

-Following Cutscene

 

This Feature will follow some object(actor, car, etc)

 

Like your General Dillema Mission... At the start, the cutscene is follow the Patriot Car.

 

-Area Effect

 

This Idea already mention by other people...

 

We can add Smoke Effect or Fire Effect at some place...

I can't understand what 'objective' part would need to be done using objects -- destroy them? Not all objects are destructable.

I can't understand what 'objective' part would need to be done using objects -- destroy them? Not all objects are destructable.

Like in Big Smoke missions, a car chase you! But you are not forced to destroy it!

 

If possible, like in Liberty City Mission, we see a aircraft appearing in the sky and then the player drive it!

 

 

Hey, I ever tried the neutral, enemy, and friend(except follow player and follow player and must survive) cannot swim. So, I think it's better if you put an option to the actors "swim">"yes" or "no"

 

Well this is an old post but the swimming ever works for me.

Friends can swim, if the "gangsta homies" can swim in SP. Too bad Catalina drowned cause the tanker was on his head when he dropped to da water...

PatrickW, Dutchy. If you don't mind I think it's better if you make a topic where the users can ask and answer some questions related to DYOM??? alien.gifalien.gifalien.gif

 

And then :

1. I ever saw that cleo is enable to spawn a custom peds/cars/objects/animations without needed to use IMG tool then edit/add something in GTA3. So, I think it's possible to you to make DYOM not only MPACK, but also with some custom peds/cars/objects/animations. It will be fun, isn't it?

 

2. Enable to edit the read-only DYOM file while in game. So, there will be mission menu>Edit mission>Password====>About the password, there will be asked if you select publish mission.

Reason = I ever (often) feel regret about some mistakes that I have made in my read-only DYOM file. Nothing I can do if this happen. alien.gifalien.gif

A DATABASE!

 

Example: Instead of creating CARS and ACTORS, I'll make a car named TNTX32 and a actor named TNTX33.

 

So when car features, I'll choose in a Management Menu:

 

"Actor TNTX33 get into car TNTX32".

 

That would be neat for managing!

Argh!

 

When making races, I need to make a checkpoint that's bigger Grove Street 10 Times! Add this:

 

Once reached a checkpoint in car if there's a cutscene after, the car IMMEDIATELY BREAKS and the checkpoint is IMMEDIATELY PASSED.

 

If not cutscene then the CKECPOINT IS AUTOMATICALLY PASSED.
