Hell, I always thought it was gameplay over graphics anyways. Shouldn't the game still be fun no matter what it is played on if it truely is a good game to begin with? What diference does it make? Being able to see Niko's pores won't make the game anymore or less fun for me. And the important thing is if people play GTA at all, because no matter what system it is on, R* still gets their money that funds the next GTA. So..so what?

Yes but where is the line between "graphics" and "gameplay" drawn?

What about the city environment, IE: Deferred Lighting, shadows?

What about the physics? Euphoria? Is that gameplay or graphics?

Not necessarily things you do in the game (Gameplay) but it certainly impacts your game experience.

If you strip GTA4 down to barebone gameplay then I suppose it's a really terrible game.

Worse than GTA:SA. But most people realize that already.

Someone should hack/mod the Qubed games in the game and replace them with a GTA game, then we could play GTA within the game, suck THAT console fanboys. Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

However it did start off pretty rocky in the beginning but atleast we now have a rock solid game, still needs a bit of tweaking to remove the micro stuttering but overall its good now. smile.gif

Yo Dawg,

I heard you like GTA, so I put GTA in your GTA so you can play GTA while you play GTA.

Dude you seriously have to be blind to see that the console version is better than the PC version... PC ports are the same thing as the console version but with better use of technology... higher resolutions... alot more action going on at the same time (peds and traffic)... I mean play a game at 720p is HD but its considered LOW RES HD play GTA4 at 1680X1050 or 1920X1080 youll see a big difference and no I can clearly see a gameplay difference at over 30 FPS wich is pretty low for a game like gta4

GTA4 was built for future technology for PC users mate... ***(Yeah f*ucking sure it was)***

See PC users are getting f*cked over by game devs that are so hungry for maximum profit with the least amount of effort.

And they try to make us feel guilty that we are not buying into their games which are several months old.

try a cross platform release you F*cking worthless dev bastards.

if any developer actually reads this... then you will prolly see that there is not much customer loyalty for your ptoduct.

I was stupid enough to buy your product... I seriously hope that other people are not as stupid as I am.

Euphoria may be the general term used for both the physics and graphics ingame by Rockstar, but the game should still have two engines, one for rendering graphics such as lighting/shadows/reflections, and another that calculates how the cars handle based on text handling files and how Niko reacts to getting hit by a semi truck, etc. They may be combined in code to produce 'one' engine, but it is still two diferent things.

The lighting and all the special effects are nice eye candy, but I will still enjoy it if it had SA or even 3's rendering engine. The physics and impact sensitive damage engine is fantastic in IV, something that makes the other GTA's just fun for short bursts now, and that is definately a gameplay addition.

I had always had that same thought! The original game is only around 300 mb, I am sure they could have sqeezed it somewhere on the disk.

Gee, that wasn't a sexist joke at all. icon13.gif

Sorry man, but once you get into a serious relationship, tampon jokes tend to get really offensive.

Wow, you are offended by that? And you play Grand Theft Auto which contains about the most offensive jokes found in any game?

I admit it was a lame joke, but hardly offensive. I couldn't help it after reading that post with the complete lack of punctuation.

What do you consider a serious relationship, anyways? I am curious how serious of a relationship I need to be in to find that offensive. I've been married 7 years and have two kids.

on topic: graphics bickering aside, pc games are modifiable (whether or not the developers pony up the tools). even if it is just a simple addition such as a different texture, your game is that much more fun. pc's often do cause trouble but consoles have their fair share of issues too. they are just never recognized until they actually happen. ex. your average gamer never really expects their hunks of plastic to overheat, but it does happen, and when they do, you have to wait weeks until it is sent back to you. which will most likely include an $80 "repair" charge. they also have a chance of bricking themselves every time you update the firmware which is quite often. at least if you have a hardware failure in a pc you can use a replacement part until your monster graphics card returns from a short 1 week RMA. consoles aren't built with longevity in mind, only profit.

Yep, GTA IV PC is missing AA etc but once you see it on a 360 or something you are likE WHAT THE HELL TURN OFF "P" NOW but you can't, so yeah IV looks way cooler on a decent rig. inlove.gif

But that's the same with all PC games VS console version I think, so you better buy it for 360 first, play the hell out of it and then download legally acquire it for the PC for stuff like multiplayer, modding etc - best of two worlds! blush.gif

Exactly my thoughts, okay proper PC gaming requires more tech knowledge, but you get alot of benefits such as ^ above, you aren't just a puppet of Microsoft or Sony as you can totally do what you want, when you want it. biggrin.gif
