PC Gaming will always have it's advantages and disadvantages when you compare it to console gaming. It's that simple. Obviously someone who doesn't want to go through the steps and processes to build a PC worthy of playing IV will go with the console version and vice versa. Also, why do you accuse me of repeating the same thing when you don't stop talking about the bad PS3 update? It didn't even affect most people and was fixed pretty quickly. Now call me picky but I would take a slow computer over a dead console any day. At least with a slow computer I can still use it but a bricked console is of no use to anyone. Now if Vista did slow my computer down guess what I could do ? That's right I could reinstall windows XP and everything would be back to normal. Tell me what do you do to rectify your bricked console ? Oh yeah you send it to MS and get it back around 3 - 4 weeks later. You have still yet to show any proof that an update on the PC can render a PC TOTALLY INOPERATIVE like a firmware update can render a console. The best you could come up with was "vista slows computers" please get a grip, you are just embarrassing yourself. As for me having to keep repeating myself it's all down to you. First up you flatly denied that any console could be killed with an update. I clearly showed you were wrong but not you are going "oh yeah well it doesn't happen to everyone" yadda yadda. Haha yeah, i just wanted to share my opinion, not start a war exactly. and i'll share mine. mods for GTAIV (and other games too) totally rule. enough so that i could never play it on a console. thats how counterstrike came to be. an old Half Life 1 mod became a VERY successful stand-alone game. can't wait till we get some uber mods for GTA IV. such as making roman shutting the hell up about bowling. In my oppinon I like the controls for the Pc version (And the multiplayer lobby), Ps3 version seems alright with its free online, but its the Xbox version to me that seems to have the best balance of graphics, controller, and multiplayer. I say this because the most recent patches for the pc version elimated misc objects to improve performance... I dont know if this was done on purpose but I can't say that I'm very happy with it. Everyone on pc multiplayer cheats... whats the fun in that? Its just my oppinon, so if you dont agree no need to get your panties in a bunch. With the PC you are deffinatly rewarded for your effort and money spent. I can, however, see rex's point. Sometimes it's just too damn tiresome to f*ck with the PC endlessly. It's an endless battle of tweaking and f*cking with to get stuff to run right. Sometimes not, but most of the time you gotta be trying to figure out something. With the console, you plug it in and play. When you're an adult and you have work, chores, excercising, whatever, sometimes it's just easier. No headache. So an update bricks it. Oh well, who gives a sh*t. Send it back if under warranty, if not, 200 bucks will get you just the unit now. Big whoopdie f*cking do. I spent a hell of alot more on hardware for my machine in the past 2 years than I have spent on console gaming my ENTIRE lifetime! I'm 28, had em all. Except the direct compeition.( For example, I have a 360, not a ps3. ) But I have always had a new console. So, all that said, I'd rather play the PC version by far. I love building new machines and pushing hardware to it's max. IV is just awe inspiring on the PC, I love it. But you can still see where rex is coming from. Aside from him arguing with charlie about the bricking. That's not a winning battle there rex. haha It is really too bad though. One of the best aspects of PC gaming, the freedom with modding and such, is completly destroying the games online value. Can you say raped? That's not the PC's fault though its MS and Rockstars lack of insight. f*cking blows my mind, there is NOTHING to prevent cheating online. Who does that? You bought the 360 on a whim i.e. by chance, but you always had a new console? You guys need to understand on thing. Being here in the PC section means you're a PC gamer. OK? If not, get the f*ck out. Pretty please. This is the f*cking PC section covering the f*cking PC version of this f*cking game. Very simple. We bought our PC's for many things, gaming is only one of the reasons. People do sh*tload of stuff on a PC, while you can do one and one thing only on a console. And good thing s it's not possible to do any work on it, becasue you could lose a lot when it gets bricked or RROD or whatever the f*ck it gets. We don't care, you have your console, we have our PCs and that's it. You maybe fail to understand this, but I would never ever get a console. Why? * console tiles are just not interesting to me. I have seen most of popular PS3 game and not one of them has made me thing "Christ, I should get this, it's great!". I just don't give a flying f*ck about 99% of console exclusives. Like many of us don't. * depending on your country, consoles can get EXTREMELY expensive. As an example, my friend payed some 700$ (back then) while I got my machine for around 1200$. The games here go for a 100$ a pop. One hundred f*cking dollars! For a game I don't even want to play LoL. * and yes, xbox is quite less expensive, but it does like to break down. Which in my case would be a good thing as I would be deprived of all that lag and pop-up with low framerates and loads of blur while doing ridiculously low FPS LoL * I don't want to play like infant in front of a TV. I find it very demeaning. * this plug and play<>functionality+reliability+quality trade off i just not acceptable for me. So evildix, divinee and other little trolls, leave. And I guess we should add Cryolitis, good idea. Caused by - gaming companies that push the PC gaming boundaries but fail to deliver a good pleasurable gaming experience all around. Symptoms - graphics whore will disregard content as far as the eye is pleased Treatment - a game with specified graphics level AND good gameplay should be designed. I personally loved the eye candy part, especially after getting my new PC, but some stuff (like the endless caves and frigging aliens) I just couldn't swallow. (Good) games for me consist of a number of small details that make me go "aaa..." here and there and Crysis just didn't provide that for me. There is also a number of issues that (IMO) make the game look funny at times. Like, I creep up slowly and there are some guys, 50 meters ahead. They are just inside the range of standard rifle and I look at 'em through that scape attachment. Now, I open fire and kill all but one. He starts creeping slowly so I hit him just once. He twits and tries to run away and I hit him once again. You can repeat this action for as long as you want (or approximately), but you won't kill the sucker. He just twists ans shouts as you empty sour clips. Second example, I use my invisibility feature and hide in the bushes. I shoot one of them, hide back in the bushes and they start to look for me. I get up, kill another one of them and again take cover. I mean, they are right there, but nobody is reacting as I kill the one by one, from an arms reach distance. Third example, I'm waiting for the guy hidden behind a door. I fire a shotgun round from some 30 cm distance right in his fekking head. He gets hurled away, his helmet comes off and he attacks me. WTF? I respect Crysis for what it is, but I will not tribute it with more then it is. If some good action game (like COD) built on Cryengine came out, that would be "the sh*t". WTF? I respect Crysis for what it is, but I will not tribute it with more then it is. If some good action game (like COD) built on Cryengine came out, that would be "the sh*t". Yes,the AI can be/should be improved.I found Warheads AI pleasing,it never glitched on me so far(hope it never will)But yes,that's why no matter how i love Crysis i won't give it an 9 or 10 because of these things.Not like the Killzone 2 fanboys why cried because the game got an 8 and not a ten....man,those kids give me the creeps.Anyway,it's a lot harder to create AI for an open ended/sandbox game,than a linear/corridor shooter.COD 4 was great,i loved it bought it too,if MW2 can be better,i would be very happy.But no matter how how we twist it or turn it,that game was linear too,with smaller levels. But in the end,i agree with you,the AI should be improved.I was satisfied with Warheads AI but it would be kick ass if they could make the AI better.And hopefully the german laws don't force the devs to apply such bad ragdoll physics like in the first game.It would be awsome to throw around dead bodies. Oh,and animations should be improved too.A little motion capture wouldn't hurt. But we should finish this cuz' the thread is really OFF rail now. COD has more or less dumb AI when you look at it, but the action area is fairly limited so you don't notice ti that much. It's like if you had two stupid kids, one sitting quietly and the other raising hell. Th loud one always risks to come off as stupid. Crysis has nice and large levels, but I would like to see a more urban surrounding with possibly loads of heavy machinery in a destructible environment... did I hear anyone say "FUN"? You would then have the option to sneak in and out ninja stile or the demolish the whole place.
