(Mouse and keyboard)And connecting a game pad is usually just a pain in the ass to configure. Just my opinion though. Oh no, here it comes! Plus there is often problems configuring certain buttons to have multiple functions. And on the note of the keyboard/mouse configuration; one of the major problems with games like San Andreas were the controls, most notably for aircraft. Piloting a helicopter with a keyboard was f*cking impossible with that game. In any case, the PC fans who've been making a big deal about their superiority, and constantly bashing the consoles are making them selves look ridiculous, and honestly, no one cares about your computer's stats. People who post their system stats on their signatures are irritating everyone, and just mirrors your ignorant comments. I'd rather just play games, and not configure my graphics card to the newest requirement every six months just to run the latest game on "epic high quality", meanwhile spending another $800+ just to meet the recommended requirements. This is why consoles are more popular than PC's for gaming. I know everyone will want to flame me for this, so please voice your objections. Now sorry, but I do NOT agree with you on that comment about San Andreas. Simply because if you know how to handle vehicles with the cursor buttons, you wouldn't say anything like that. Rawmeat Posted March 8, 2009 Author Share Posted March 8, 2009 The blur is very annoying, but it sort of makes GTA IV look more cartoony/artistic and sort of mixes in with the cover art. Without the blur, it looks very clear, but makes the horrible jaggies more visible, everything in the distance is also more visible, but that's what Rockstar used the blur for, to make it hard to notice the game loading in front of you which is pretty distracting I'm using a "blur" mod that fixes all that. Also for controller i'm using my 360 controller and i didnt have to touch a setting (and also the game runs on high settings with a quad core and ol' 8800gtx very smooth) AND also the mods makes the game fun to play again! Don't worry,i'm left-handed and i hate WASD.Can't stand it.If i have to act quickly i always push the wrong button,usually the ones surrounding the WASD keys.The arrows are the most comfortable for me by far.And if a game comes out that has a bit harder handling,or is unplayable on keyboard,i just plug in my Xbox360 controller.Devil May Cry 4 and Dead Space are really better with it.And i need it so i can bowl in GTAIV. I personally don't think you should be bragging you are a "multi system owner" to me that is like saying "I like it up the arse so much I am going to keep crowing about it" but hey each to their own I guess. agreed. i really can't see why people don't realize how much consoles end up costing them (just because they think pc's are a hassle/too expensive). i enjoy not paying 5 dollars a month in addition to my $40 a month high-speed internet as well as not being nickel and dimed for mappacks and updates. i enjoy not paying an extra $10 in royalties for games to companies that do God knows what with that cash. and i certainly enjoy realistically priced accessories (which are optional thank God) as well as the ability to upgrade my GFX card instead of camping out at gamestop for the latest and greatest console release. i almost forgot about the reliability of pc's. it agonizing to wait for a month for microsoft to fix your precious 360 that has broken for the third time due to piss poor cooling. at least with pc's all you do is send one part back that returns in a week or so. dunno about console games. but pc games often have massive staying power. look at the original half-life. 10 years and still alive thanks to a kickass modding community. i am willing to bet GTA IV will last far longer on the pc than it will on the console. (even with their precious lost and the damned "exclusive" ) and now i will gather AA guns for the inevitable paratrooper console trolls that will rain down upon my post. get an umbrella charlie... I remember we would get console cretins invading daily to laugh at PC owners and tell us how our PC's wouldn't be able to run a game as advanced as GTA 4. There is no getting away from the fact that GTA 4 could have been even better on the PC if they had put a bit more effort into it. However even the PC version as it stands it still blows the damn console version out of the water . It's also great to see a few console users making the switch to the PC and so far from what I have seen they haven't be disappointed either . So whenever we hear of a console user switching we should do the "another one bites the dust" dance, because it's one more of us and one less of them yeah? I played on console originally and tried the PC version on my capable machine and have to say it just doesn't run well enough to enjoy like I did on the consoles. My components are Q6600 @ 3.0ghz/6gb ram/ATI 2900PRO 512mb and I run Crysis at 1920x1080/Very high at 20fps, or 40fps at 720p. The game is just that poorly optimised that I have to disagree (In general, I get 10-20fps at whatever settings by the way...). This all said I'm no fanboy to consoles, I know they limit the technical evolutions in videogames as most developers will design their product with the largest audience in mind. If a 4870x2 or nvidias latest card is the only cards that provide a significant performance improvement on the console versions I must say I don't think GTA4 is very successful at all on the PC playstation4life! - hahaha Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Each system has it's good sides which the other lacks. For example the only way to avoid the inconvenience of having awkward controls with the PC is to buy a game console. Clearly you aren't even reading my posts before you start arguing back. Second, it's all opinions. I do use a game pad for my PC sometimes (my wired 360 game pad, actually) and it does work on some games too (such as Crysis and GTA IV) However, on most games it's not supported. Now I'm sure you may disagree, but in my opinion that is just a pain in the arse. Sure on some games, mouse and keyboard are also better to use as well (such as first person shooters) but as for other games such as driving/racing games for example, I much prefer using a game pad. Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention what a nuisance it is to actually get a game pad working on PC. (downloading drivers and sh*t... actually I think that's another annoying inconvenience with PC gaming in general, the constant requirement of updating drivers is just a pain in the ass) I also find it pretty hilarious mr "moderator" is fueling a fan boy war by being a fan boy himself. Made the PS3 version of CoD: 4 a misery to play! Oh wait, I'll just fire up the awesome, added maps, moddable, higher res version...Guess which one it is. I'm so happy I've sold the PS3 . I honestly don't care whether or not you believe I have the game. But as I said before, it's all a matter of opinion. Well I have never had a problem with the xbox 360 controller and any games on the PC. However I don't use it that much because I find a joypad to be restrictive and a childish way to play games. The only reason why I have a controller at all is because I was stupid enough to buy a 360 for GTA 4. Updating firmware on the PS3 is simple and ususally takes less than a minute since the updates are small. (unlike driver downloads for graphics cards)Also there's no hassal of uninstalling previous drivers or anything. Yeah it's easy peasy on the PS3 isn't it :- Firmware 2.0 was supposed to make enhancements to PS3 functionality, but since its arrival, many users have complained of experiencing slowed system performance, crashing and, in some cases, complete system failure. source If you want I could dig up lots of other horror stories that seem to happen everytime a new firmware comes out. I've already said in this very topic that I prefer the PC version over the console version, but there you go again failing to read what I said. Tell you what why don't you show us where in this thread you said the PC version is better, because I have checked all your posts and NOT ONCE did you say anything positive about the PC or the PC version of GTA 4. Infact your first post in this topic was just one "oh yeah what I don't like about the PC is blah de bloody blah blah" and you knew that was going to get a reaction because you said :- Oh no, here it comes! Now that is pretty blatant trolling to me. Not once in this thread have you said anything positive about the PC, it isn't about being part of a PC fan club, if you enjoy the PC version then great tell us why you like it better than the console version. If you find some aspects about the PC version then great tell us about them. However in your case all you did was bitch about the PC in every post. All I can say is I've never had any problems such as that and I'm sure that over the apparent decades in which you've used a PC, I'm sure you've encountered a few technical issues yourself. If I did get those problems which you quoted, I'd just play on my 360 instead anyway. I've said before that I like the PC version over the console version. To be honest I don't usually make a big deal out of as you do, because it will just annoy console owners. So just because I didn't comment again and again about the PC version being the far more superior version doesn't mean I hate the game or don't own it. I think you are just jumping to conclusions a little too quickly. Well since you dug up one of my old posts let me do the same: Here's a segment from your first post: However even the PC version as it stands it still blows the damn console version out of the water . Now, I'm not sure about you, but I think common sense says that a post like that will spark a conflict and most probably piss off console gamers.
