mjw911
ppl keep saying that chinatown wars takes place on one of the islands in gta 4. so does that mean that the map is the exact same as the gta 4 map? (same roads, same buildings, same locations) will the map layout be identical to gta 4? thanks!
MattTheftAuto
I think its the same map but without alderny, i could be wrong, but thats what ive been lead to believe
gamesguru
It's extremely similar to GTA IV's version of Liberty City, but there are still significant differences; and just like noted, there is no Alderney City.
MC.
I wonder how will this game work without Alderney. Maybe the bridge is closed or something or the island is just drifted away.
lordjubblydave
Yeah, its the same map as 4, without alderney. Also I read somewhere that the routes around the map would be different.

I don't know i just remember reading something along those lines Here " - good portion of Liberty City is modeled in the game (different routes than console games)" taken from http://www.gamekyo.com/newsen29038_grand-t...st-screens.html Also maybe, there will actually be a multiplayer mode rather than just, social club stuff. i am guessing, because on the rockstar chinatown wars website there is a multiplayer tab. I am sooo down for mp gta ds Edited March 6, 2009 by lordjubblydave
Crosbie
And will we get a fold-out map with the game as with the full versions? Even better, will we get to see this in advance?

Imagine the looks you would get pulling out your map of liberty city out on a packed tube train, while whistling into your ds for a cab,

WTF is a Full Version?? Meh, you know what I mean. I nearly put 'console versions' but I figured some pedant will point out that the DS is a console too... Non-handheld versions? Non-DS versions? www.GTAComplete.com
It might actually. If they decrease the graphical quality down by A LOT, then it might hold the map.

Oh you meant Home Console, lol I have never heard those called Full Systems before so you confused me. Home Consoles = Wii/PS3/
GTA3Freak-2001
It might actually. If they decrease the graphical quality down by A LOT, then it might hold the map. Decreasing isn't the right word when clearly the game world in CTW is in a totally different style and has most likely been modeled from scratch. This isn't like Vice City Stories where the game is almost comparible to the PS2 games its based on, as far as style goes.
