Well, so far this poll shows that the vocal minority was pretty much what rockstar said it was. I can forgive a 1 percent error on their part lol.

Impossible unless you have overclocked that sh*tty card to death.

That card should not be a problem if the other components compliment it well. People who have that card, as I have seen, always lack elsewhere in conjunction with it. He plays 800x600, too, which would suggest that he's *just makin' it*. And an 8500 would *just make it* if the rest of the PC it is plugged into is up to par at least for that component.

when it wants to.

sometimes its smooth enough to play sometimes its not. i play with all settings maxed in 1280x960 in a window. if i play fullscreen 1280x1024 my fps is down like 40%. ingame benchmark says 20fps. fraps says min 15fps, max 30fps, avg 22fps driving round the big island in the daytime. havent tried driving at night. i get roughly the same fps on all low settings in 640x480 in a window as i do in 1280x1024 fullscreen maxed settings.

might be a vocal minority, numbers seem small when its 13% of 100 people, but what about if its 13% of 1 million people? or...how many copies did they sell on console, over 5 million?

Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), said today that Grand Theft Auto IV has surpassed all-time entertainment records for day one and week one sales by dollar value. Released on Tuesday, April 29th, Grand Theft Auto IV, the critically acclaimed video game, has sold through to consumers approximately 6 million units globally with an estimated retail value of more than $500 million in the first week. Grand Theft Auto IV sold approximately 3.6 million units on its opening day with a retail value of approximately $310 million globally.

6mil*.13= 780,000

oops only counted the when it feels like it crowd.

6mil*.28 =1,680,000

Always.

Never had a problem with GTA IV (besides the incompatibility with Radeon X1000-series cards)

I'm in luck, even my PC is at minimum requirements, I don't have any error, BSOD, crash etc, I got 35 fps, it's not much but very playable to me, I play it on medium graphics. smile.gif Now just waiting patch 3 to fix missing objects

I did a few polls like this when the game came out and came to the conclusion that alot of the pissing and moaning came from the same 2-7 people.

took a while but it seems the most are banned now. or took off for another forum to flame.

Always works for me, but multiplayer is a different story XD.

Actualy most of the complaining was from people that were under the recomended CPU specs, which was reasonable because they could play any other game with 50+ fps, and it has died down because they either upgraded or accepted it and moved on.

It always works, even on my ATI Radeon 2400 128MB card. wink.gif

Really? Is it Shader 3.0?

Lol even the Radeon x1300 had shader 3.0 and thats a generation before.

And all the Radeon 2xxx series cards has Shader 4.0 if im not mistaken... I think I might be though but yeah im pretty sure they do

I'm not familiar to ATI cards so I don't know if his graphics card able to run GTA IV. But seriously 128MB able to play GTA IV?

You'd be amazed, saw someone try it on an older dell laptop with a 8400m 128mb and it ran fine. Wouldn't let em change any Graphic settings what so ever lol!!! It had that red warning on it and said 200mb or so usage and he couldn't change anything but like the resolution and what not lol.

Or the game just slowly loses it's popularity. It happened a lot sooner on consoles.

Yeah! The IV forums seems not active as when the game was released. It's too quiet now! Bah! Why should I care? I'm having fun with chatting cool peoples at the lounge! smile.gif

Yeah that seems to be happening alot more lately. Older games seem to still have some popularity then new stuff like Far Cry 2 gets raving reviews for a month or 2 and then nothing lol.

Always biggrin.gif with the Memory Leak Fix (-memrestrict 314572800). Was crashing within 1 - 5 minutes before I enabled it.

The odd texture issue and glitch here and there, but that doesn't matter.

I'm one of the few lucky sods who didn't just have the game running properly, but also running smoothly the first time around. So, obviously.

I almost never visit forums for games that run fine.

Just waiting for patch (the one that fixes atleast 50% issues).

I am not going to use those fuc%ing command line bull$hits.

Well I don't mean to nitpick but don't you mean :-

Because according to the poll the majority have the game running biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif .

Works always, and at decent framerates. I haven't had any stuttering in my game since the patches were released. I also don't try and overstep my settings for my rig. smile.gif

I choose "Always" ... although if there would have been an option "Most of the time" I´d pick that because: About once every few hours, as in once per gamingsession, I might encounter an "GTA 4 has stopped working and needs to shut down error" ...

Sad thing that Multiplayer is so infected by cheaters nowadays though ... would have been nice to actually be able to enjoy that since its pretty much all I have left in this game.
