.:Rodrigo:. 0
First, this isn't a step by step tut. You need to have some experience with Max before starting this tut, but don't be afraid, is not that hard What you'll need: -3DS Max* -Basic 3DS Max knowledge. *30 days trial The textures I used were: -vehicletyres128 Located in: vehicle.txd @ models\generic -enforcer92wheel64 Located in: enforcer.txd -vehiclegeneric256 Located in: vehicle.txd @ models\generic Let's start with a Cylinder. I'll be working with this specs: Radius:39,015 Height:17,769 Height Segments:1 Cap Segments:1 Sides:18 1-First convert to EP (Editable Poly) Well, now go to face mode and extrude and scale a couple of times to make the wheel look rounder, like in the picture. Once you did that, repeat the step 1 but this time extrude with negative values e.g: -1,5 It should look like this now: 2- Now let's make the rims. You should use the texture you choosed as a guide. I will use this one: enforcer92wheel64 This is all about using Extrude and Inset to get the look you want. 3-Now we have to optimize the wheel. Let's go to the Top viewport. Now select these edges: And now press Connect. Now go to Face mode, select these faces and delete 'em: Now go to Vertex mode and select these vertexs in the Perspective viewport: Then in Edge mode select and Connect these edges: If you did everything as I said your wheel should be splited into 4 parts. Delete the ones selected: Edited March 4, 2009 by .:Rodrigo:.
