An example of why you must tap out bursts of fire

Truthfully, this was sorta a test to see what my vids would look like...wanna get some footage of the Air/Ground War tomorrow...

I think I can make some adjustments to get better quality.

Very nice this will help alot of beginners. I always laugh at how huge the reticule circle gets when you hold the trigger the bullet doesn't hit the target once.

Nooo!!! That's what makes owning noobs so hilarious....lol.

So did you set up a camera in front of the TV or how do you get that on film?

Yea...handicam. Not too bad quality considering. It helps that i got a big ass TV...lol

I actually bought my laptop to get gaming vids off the TV (one reason anyway). Its got 64-bit Vista...can't get ANY video converters to work with it (or hardly ANY program for that matter). I knew I should have got a Mac... confused.gif

Must really test this. I have just kept shooting on PC.

Still, there are only a few who would match my skill (from the people who I have played with of course).

Image quality not bad indeed... Now if you could record the sound separately no-one would ever notice that it's not a capture card. I'm really looking forward to seeing some air-ground war footage!

Well if you did that just to test the quality, I've got to say this. The video quality is OK, only it seems a little more orange than usually...

Actually, you are right. I have the game picture settings f*cked up so I can see better in night fights (you know, so that I can see in dark corners) and forgot about it. Gotta set it back to default Thanks!

EDIT - March 17, 2009

My small protest to the closing of the Griefer Thread:

thanks for helping GTA get one step closer to the mediocrity of the mainstream

Whenever I play against someone who asks me I show em the tricks I know if they are pilot in regards to the beatdown. Especially when it comes to rpg's.

So true icon14.gif Its the only reason that people can win auto aim games.

But if you are close range then it doesn't really matter.

You can actually tell the skill set of people you're fighting by listening to the gunfire. When I get in a match and hear everybody just holding down on fire, I know I'm going to clean up. When I hear people all tapping out gunfire, I know I'm in for a more intense style match.

It's funny that a lot of people tap out gunfire until they get hit, then they seem to sort of panic and start just holding down fire instead of remaining calm and still tapping out rounds.

I never thought that it mattered if you tapped out your shots but i tried it out after watching that video and it makes a whole lot of difference. I can fire faster then holding it down and it looked like on bullet hole on the wall instead of that massive spread. I can't get online atm but when i do i might play some death match to test out this new skill!

Great video... you should send it to the billion "randoms" around the GTA-servers and the games with em could be a lot more entertaining!!

BTW, your a pretty good player ChristopherD! Stabbed me in that TDM... meanwhile I'm not even expecting that anymore. blush.giflol.gif The blips far or team seemed to suit ur playing style aswell and your way too polite on these forums when you talk about ur shooting skillz! icon14.gif

What's great about that video is that so many of us have been saying for so long to "tap out shots" but there is not only an example but an illustration on the difference, for your eyes to see.

I agree, ChristopherD definitely downplays his shooting skills here but hey, that's not a bad thing! Myself, nobody on my friends list is a crappy shooter and if they are, I'm currently working on making them better. In fact, methinks it wouldn't be the worst idea to send people the link to this video.

Yeah, it's not! That's what I ment... there are a bunch of people that talk about nothing else than how good they are. Not the attitude I like... at least if they aren't doing that in a fun way... or they really just are extraordinary good shooters and you just can't deny it. f.e. Stev150 that dirty muhfugga!^^ ph34r.gif

But HE is one of those really nice characters who always tells you how good you did when he still outscored you by twice or triple your own score in DMs... suicidal.gif

sshhh...don't tell...lol

Actually, believe it or not, my AA off skills just got a serious bump from a two week stint I did about a month ago playing Quantum of Solace! That game has an AA on too (sorta). It just kinda helps point you in the right direction (not actually a lock-on), so I figured I'd turn it off and didn't do too badly. When I got back to GTA (will always come back to GTA...lol), I was extremely surprised that my AA off skills had jumped up dramatically! Go figure.

And I didn't even realize it was you I shanked (small pay-back for blowing me up 2 secs from getting that Turf in TWs...lol)...I still have much trbl in up-close gun battles and usually have a better chance with the knife, which is just one more reason I prefer AA off to on! Knife is useless w/AA on.

rudy - I'll file that one under "the more things change, the more they stay the same"

Waiting for a host of posters named after obscure GTA characters to start flooding the board (joke).

Chris - up close was another major reason I needed to get at least decent at disallow, got tired of getting stabbed, shottied and having dudes I could pwn in medium and long range firefights killing me up close.

Now here's the thing, and I mentioned this the other day to deejay after it happened a couple times and I believe he's had the same experience, but when somebody is right up on you, and I mean like 5 steps or less, instead of the tapping out a round thing, what seems to work is holding down on fire and spraying across the middle/top of their head.

Well, yeah. And having a quick firing weapon such as the SMG is also better at close range than an AK.

Yep, I should have said that this works with the SMG. Got lucky with the AK/M4 but it just isn't as realiable up close for those situations.

Deathly-Bullet

Smg's, combat guns (Guns that you use in combat situations); short range shooting.

Assault rifles, range guns (Guns you use in far range situations); far range shooting.

Never try a M4 in short ranges.. Rather an AK.

And don't try the MAC in far ranges, rather the Mp5.

Just some advice(s).
