Waynio Posted March 6, 2009 Share Posted March 6, 2009 hehe, i beleive i'm a bit addicted to playing this online so i'm going to continue playing, but i just found out about a bonus game mode, follow the ones you suspect are making boats fall out the sky and report them and you get 200 gamer points , same with any of the cheaters you notice, but the end user "us" should not have to be game cheat cops lol but really i seriously hope rockstar and/or ms come up with a solution, especially with some of the insane things happening in game causing pc's to crash, i know when someone is cheating as the game goes really laggy all of a sudden, it is not just vehicles being dumped, about 5 skate park ramps apeared on the road, so next thing we'll be seeing could be hotdog stands, a pile of people, an aeroplane or 20 i'm hoping it is just a simple trainer made by a rogue coder, but i thought with ms live you could not cheat, i'm going to start making a ms live friends list so i can be sure i'm playing against real gamers. seemed fairly ok 10pm uk onwards, just normal lag in races where someone playing on poor net connection, so i guess the cheating babys were tucked up in bed lol. I was just in a free roam server, nothin new just a few french people in it messin around. They were being jerks though, tried to kick me because i was a "weak english player" well that didn't work so I was just roamin around happily. Then my game went black and said "Connection to one or more players has been lost" I was like okayyy this is a new one and tried to open GFWL then my screen started freakin out and my game crashed. Restarted and joined them again and they started laughing all deviously frenchly and it happend to me again. Has it really been long enough for people to find exploits and infobooms? :-S I really just hope my game was acting up but I joined a seperate server and nothing, nada. I have honestly never seen an online game so completely destroyed by cheaters. Ever. I have to admit I generally only play Wolfenstien Enemy Territory anymore, and I only play on one server because the players are on top of cheating and what gets by PunkBuster gets caught by us, and the player is promptly banned! Someone was complaining about me asking if Rockstar would use Punkbuster, at least it gets rid of the majority of cheaters. The rest get caught by the players. It would be a damn sight better than the nothing they have now. GTA IV really is a blast to play online for about 12 minutes a night, till the cheaters crash the server and/or my computer. Thats honestly about the longest I have been able to play. RockStar should get their money back from SecureRom, and invest it in PunkBuster. You think they cheat for the kills? No one cheats for kills. It's always about annoying other people, and if you complain and get annoyed rather than leaving the server, they win. Best course of action against them is a kick vote. If unsuccesfull, ask the others to add you (if you were playing together with them) and make a pw protected server. If everyone did this, cheaters would be extinct by now. Instead everyone chooses to bitch and moan and thus, provide them with what they want. Waynio Posted March 7, 2009 Share Posted March 7, 2009 last game i played last night was when a cheat dumped a solid road block on the track, could not drive through it so thought balls to this and just watched a film, rarely get to see who does the object spawns. there was 1 or 2 people saying i seemed to be going faster than everyone else, and to be honest it seemed like i was going a little faster but only in a couple of races, does this mean the cheaters have the ability to target players with tweaks to make them look like cheaters, if this is so it has got way out of hand, i don't even use any command lines since getting my gtx285, rockstar have got to use a good anti-cheat function else no one would want to play online anymore because of this. i have even set all graphics to low with a res of 1680x1050 for when an idiot spawns a pile of vehicles so my pc does not crash, i can play the single player game near max settings and could do on multi if it were not for this problem. If an exception is made for the well meaning modders, a lot of morons will also take the opportunity. Not really. Morons will still find the way, it's just you guys who don't use mods at all won't be able to defend yourselves and leave the server, making every server a cheat one aka killing the MP. The only way of rescuing the MP is waiting for SAMP devs to make a dedicated server. And lastly, if modding it outlawed, then only outlaws will mod.I'll translate: If modding is banned/removed, then only assholes will mod. @Waynio No one tweaked your game, you weren't going faster than others. It's just others were going slower, since they had lower FPS. You said you can max out the game in SP, thus your FPS is certainly ain't low in MP. There's a thread on the forum about some guy saying he was going faster than others sometimes, and there was an explanation. Oh and yeah guys, you need to drop your overly aggressive vigilante mode. Every other frequently modded game in the universe has them, and they work. When you join, the server checks your version and the MD5 (a number generated by all the digits in each of your files) of all the files it uses. If there is one that fails, the server beams you it's version. Thus you don't have to go mod hunting to get into those servers, and the cheaters and hackers all get their own servers to f*ck about and piss everyone off in. Combine it with punkbuster to stop code injection (what trainers do) and your bullet proof, and you dont evne need private servers (as cool as they are.) Half Life does it, Counter Strike does it, BF2 does it, Star Wars games do it. Even SA:MP and MTA do it, so why R* hadn't thought of it. BECAUSE THEY STILL HAVEN'T GOT OVER HOT COFFEE AND THUS TRY AND MAKE MODDERS THE VILLAINS OF EVERY PIECE. Tw*ts. If you play soccer, you CAN just pick up the ball and run around, knocking everyone else down. Unfortunately, noone else is playing succer like that, and therefore you will be the only idiot running around following your own rules. For tha same reason, you will be banned from playing soccer and for sure get your ass kicked. Thats why MP modders are plain idiots, nomatter what stupid excuses they come up with. Only one thing I want to say is don't over-do it. I had someone file a complaint on me because I turned godmode after he killed me. He tried again (notice, only him, everyone else was doing something else, there was barely any kills in top left corner and probably accidental when there was one), and failed so then he proceeded to whine for about 5 minutes about how I'm a loser and I cheat because I can't play without cheats. So then I actually told him lets go play DM match if he wants to kill around. He refused with an excuse that I will cheat there too. Invited him few more times, he just ignored and then quit after few mins. No logic whatsoever. (I mean, sure, file complaint against those Tug boats spawners, but not just ANY modder. It's because you file a complaint against an asshole, not a modder. Most assholes are modders, but not vice versa aka not every modder is an asshole.) Waynio Posted March 8, 2009 Share Posted March 8, 2009 most of the time it is virtually impossible to be 100% sure who dumps a pile of fire trucks at the begining of a race, but i definately caught 1 and i filed a complaint through win live, i don't want to report someone i only think is cheating, i have to know for sure if i'm going to file a complaint. modding just should not exist in multiplayer altogether, needs to be keep only for single player, not only is it unfair it really spoils the fun of the game. however the only fun thing i have seen sporned on a race was bits of a skate park but they spawned quite a lot of them, it enabled a crazy big jump on superbikes but made the game laggy so was not so great. i would not mind if people used mods for better game performance like command lines that is just optimizing but not to cheat or make the game lagggggggy on purpose. would have been playing online a lot more if the cheating either calmed down a lot or they were unable to cheat, but i suppose when someone says something can't be done they can't resist to try to prove them wrong. anyway i just hope rockstar fix this cheat fest if they can on the next patch and hopefully a race track editor or more race tracks or even all the same tracks but in reverse would be an awesome bonus goes to show how great this game is thou with me still wanting to play despite its problems. still not seen a 32 player race and would like to very much Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Hacking in multiplayer IN ANY FORM shows the social skills of a hacker is remarkably low. You have just requested some extra high social value attention. I WIL spend my time and my energy in f*cking these people up in my own way. You people are very evil and bad. I know you are a small share of all the GTA 4 MPlayers, and when we meet ... There is NO point in bumping this topic, this is a FAN forum and we have no official connection to Rockstar so spamming this forum and bumping these topics is not going to get you anywhere. The best thing you can do is report cheaters/modders using the games for windows live interface, that's what I have been doing and if enough people do it then Rockstar and the GFWL will become aware of the problem. Now stop bumping this topic just for the hell of it, if you have something relevant to say about the topic then fine, but don't just do a "bump" post.
