c'mon. let's put things in perspective here.

Exactly, people are getting emotional about a bloody game, it is downright funny and frankly unbelievable.

 

It seems nowadays not much is needed to make people upset.

No, it's not about a game.

It's about people being assholes.

Ingame or not ingame.

If someone is an asshole online, I wanna punch them in the face.

If someone is an asshole in real life, I do punch them in the face.

 

It doesn't matter if what I do is right or not.

 

(Assholes are actually people who weren't treaten well as a kid, etc, and they only need some attention, love, but since their psychology is f*cked up they are doing mistakes like being an asshole. Punching them in the face will not help them, but it does prevent them from bothering me again.)

To be honest from the above I *could* make out that you yourself didn't have enough love or at least not a decent education. As punching people in the face because they annoy you isn't a very smart thing to do.

 

That is my point, you have zero tolerance, in the real world people will annoy you, be it in traffic or in public transportation or whatever, the same on online multiplay, punching people in the face, or getting too worked up about it isn't the answer.

 

You guys also need to realise, that this game isn't only about shooting people or being competittive, some people (myself included) want to just have a good time online, and I use godmode on the car, to not being bothered by these kids, that seem to believe that each freeroam session is just another deathmatch. Luckily it seems that such session become less and less frequent, something that is only a good thing.

All they (R*) is have the server read from server-side files only and not client-side. They should only do this for every mode except Free-Mode.

Well, I think you modders/cheaters see what the majority of players think of you. Look, were not asking you to stop modding/cheating, were just asking you to start your own game and stop f*cking up ours! What's the problem? You act like just because you bought the game as well that somehow gives you the right to come f*ck up the rest of our games. If they do ban modding/cheating somehow, (which they will have to, cause the game can't be played online by non-cheaters the way it is) it will be the modders/cheaters own fault because you were given the power along with a moral test, and you failed miserably!

GTA IV online IS a complete failure, because us honest people can't play it the way it was intended to be played. And let me clarify that, the way the game was intended to be played was the way Rockstar released it. If you are going to argue that than your a comlete moron, and I'm sure that I could prove your ignorance in any court of law. Multi-player is unplayable when you kids start that sh*t.

I use god mode because all i want to do is do stunts and drive around, never do I randomly kill someone who doesn't have any mods. The second mod I use is a car spawner. i'm absolutely against cheating (so called modding). the only possible solution is providing the same possibilities to every client. ergo: allow these modifications in marked games, that would be ok

Once again, playing online tonight. Team deathmatch this time. I'm owning with a rocket launcher, and some faggy modder got butthurt and attacked me with the multiple car thing all stuck together. That promptly crashed the server. Tell me again you freaking fruitcakes how this is fun? Because your soo weak and small, and lack the skills of a circus chimp you crash the server? Well I figured out how to report cheaters on GFWL, and spent the better part of this evening just reporting cheaters. I don't know if it will do any good, but with any luck they'll start banning these tards.

• Don't cheat in a game unless cheats have been deliberately enabled.
• Don't modify or hack game content to create cheats.

That pretty much says to me you should use the game in the state you bought it which includes official updates. If you alter files or use a third party program to alter the way the game behaves online then I would pretty much say you are breaking the terms of your EULA and breaking the usage terms of Games For Windows Live. But hey what does rules matter to people that seem to have pure utter contempt for those that just want to play the game properly the way Rockstar meant it to be played.

This is very clear. Of course does spawning a car constitute cheating ? Tough question if you ask me.

I run a completely vanilla game, no files have been changed or modified. I happen to run a small asi that executes native game commands, no alterations to the original game files have been done.

This has not been specifically stated in those two lines, and you know when we are talking legalities, this MUST be done, otherwise the EULA doesn't apply.

 

Regarding your last point, I do show consideration for other people, you seem to miss that there are also loads of people that like to mod their game and still manage to not bother or hinder other people.

well, the reason why I'm on this board is because I love this game, but of course that is of no concern to you.

 

As mentioned before cheating is something you do to gain an advantage, you cannot gain an advantage in free roam.

 

The other MP modes I don't care about, as I am not in for killing or racing or other competitive modes, the fact that I'm not even allowed to have some fun in free roam where I would harm no one is frankly unbelievable.

 

I guess some people are so hell bent on their own ideas or believes, that a compromise isn't possible, that is sad.

Yeah some people like you, there is a perfectly acceptable solution, if you want to use mods or play with your magical "vanilla" copy of the game that somehow magically manages to do lots of things without actually breaking the terms of use then do it in a PRIVATE LOCKED PLAYER MATCH. Do not ruin the public servers with your modding, now that shouldn't be too difficult should it, I mean after all apparently there are hundreds of people doing the modding. So I suggest you find them and set up a player match and lock it.

I say all we need is dedicated servers. Leave ranked games on P2P make an option for player games to have dedicated servers so we can admin our servers. A little bit of securom magic in it and all rockstar has to do is put out exploit updates every few months or so.

 

And think of the other benefits, better pings, no more getting kicked for being to slow, the possibility of autokicking if someone gets an abundance of weapons in half a second ( for deathmatch servers ). Server side mods, map builders, oh jesus it would make MP everything we wanted it to be.

shame hackers made san andreas mutli player and I can tell you now hackers get banned fast! there dedicated servers qith admins that control everything, might not be perfect(cuase some admins are ass's) but about 98 percent of thepeps aren;t cheating, and if they are they play on asever that allows it(which is perfectly fine with me).

 

i perdict IV mutli dies off quick if somethin isn't done to make game play fair, san andreas mutli still has lots of players, and is more fun to play even with the sh*t gfx!!

People who use mods and hack online ruin it for me more than most. Of course it is unfair and annoying but to me it makes gta crash on me,

 

I was in T DM just now and was driving a car with another person. I started to get close to a person, both of us started unloading full clips of ammo and the guy never moved, he never threw anything or shot anything, all of a sudden all cars around us blew up out of no where. So many explosions that gta crashed on me. said too many network id's please restart gta.

 

I agree that Rockstar should do something about this. BUT as the system works out anybody could start a quick server or even create a profile on GFWL. Since all of the servers are not dedicated it is hard to anything.

 

The most we could do is kick everyone we suspect of cheating.

 

Actually, Instead of kicking, PRESS HOME AND FIND THE PERSON UNDER PLAYERS......CHOOSE HIM AND HIT <FILE COMPLAINT>

Then kick.

Same thing happened to me an hour ago. Pissed me off cause he not only crashed the server but also my GTAIV.EXE (got an error telling me to restart game.)

 

Ugg. the guy spemmed cars and then used a hack to blow them all up at the same time.

 

If you are just hacking to have no cops in free mode and do stunts thats ok. I could c where that could be ok because it has no cops, and cheating would not deactivate achievements.

 

Everyone else who cheats in DM, TDM, and Mafia work, should die, or at lease kicked/banned from the servers.

Who are you to suggest people how and where to play the game. As far as I know you're a Mod only on this forums, not in-game, in life or anything else. You just need to understand one thing, modders don't ruin the game - assholes ruin it. There's a big difference.

Sorry to "burst your bubble", but trainers do not modify anything, they use native code - it could be very well a feature in next release. You don't blame SA-MP and MTA team for using modding and using undocumented/hidden functions in GTA3-SA games. I'm pretty sure they are using mods which invoke breaking the EULA. And also, using your logic, playing with mods in singleplayer is again breaking the terms of use, since it modifies the game. So I want to know what specifically are you trying to ban?

You still do not gain advantage. If I have top skill and I kill everyone in free roam, isn't that considered advantage? Totally two different thing, gaining advantage in competitive play for your own rank and/or other features; and using trainers/skills/friends to gain advantage (not really advantage but since you insist on it, it can be interpreted like this) over a game - as in more fun stuff to do with friends, less annoyance in finding vehicle in a city, more things possible.

Also, checkmateinc, can you explain how can I turn off friendly fire in an already running server? Starting a new one is not a way when there are 10 servers with 1/32 and 3-4 servers with 6/32 amount of players.

 

 

All 3 of you (and those who agree with them) are targeting wrong audience. You take all modders and put them in one big basket. That is wrong. That is kinda equivalent to racism/nationalism. If one black guy kills someone with a gun, doesn't mean every black guy should not be allowed to have guns. Same stuff with modders. If some asshole uses a mod or trainer to harass and have fun, doesn't mean legit players should be punished and have less fun. I won't deny, I mod too. I'm not afraid of getting my key/acc disabled for one good reason: I don't grief/harass/get annoying. Thus, I don't break any EULAs, I don't break terms of use, and more importantly, I don't break Code of Conduct. I also wont deny I reported a few guys, not because they cheat, but because they harassed and griefed for no reason. Trainers and mods are just side tools for those guys. They abuse it.

 

And lastly, if modding it outlawed, then only outlaws will mod.

I'll translate:

If modding is banned/removed, then only assholes will mod.

 

P.S. That is considering you play in freeroam, but I can see trainers could be used in non-ranked games too like everyone using godmode cars with non-godmode health in TDM, you can still kill a guy, just need better aim, you can also shoot tires to make it harder for him to drive. In the end, all what matters in non-ranked games is fun, right?

Have to agree, I like to play fair online and not cheat.

 

I am quite addicted at the moment to playing multiplayer mode (especially Team Deathmatch) but hate these sad motherf*ckers cheating (I can name one already who I have noticed cheating the most online...BRAINSMASHER666 ).

 

I have been to one server where some asswipe decides to crash the server by spawning a heap of cars, boats etc and causing me to restart my PC

 

Hope Rockstar release a patch to stop this cheating. It is ruining the fun of playing online.

 

If anyone wants to play an online multiplayer with me who plays fair, my nickname for this site is the same one I use to play GTA4.

I won't play online untill they fix this mess, luckily I haven't had the time to play so not a big loss for me, but for the poor paying customers who have multiplayer ruined by idiots with no skills (Losers trying to be winners! ) I feel sorry for you guys, this should of been thought about way before release. Rockstar did you not think that there are little cheeseball like people out there who cant play games and need cheats to feel good ??
