I'm testing it with great desire.

Here is my error log:

 

2009-08-14 01:16:32 - Error during Tick in script 'gkFuelMod.fuelMod':

                      System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

                         at gkFuelMod.fuelMod.KeyDownHandler(Object sender, KeyEventArgs e)

                         at GTA.Script.ProcessEvents()

                         at GTA.Script.DoTick()

                         at GTA.ScriptThread.OnTick()

This happened when I pressed "Ctrl+Q" during show in "Perestroika". Because all gauges were on screen and I wanted to remove them... moto_whistle.gif

I would be thankful if it's possible to correct this. Luck!

OK Gangsta, here's one for you.

I've tested the mod a bit, and I've noticed fuel only drops when vehicles are in motion.

Standing still, with e-brake on and full revs doesn't budge the fuel meter. In other words, fuel isn't consumed when the vehicle isn't moving, regardless of whether the engine is sitting idle or at 8000 RPM. I know this is just a small detail, a tad bit anal retentive, and prob would call for a script overhaul; but I just thought I'd let you know.

how to use vehicle tracking?

i have press y and trackin shown at top left, but it didnt always track it.

i have try to turn off the engine before leaving.

can you explain the procedure?

It does use fuel when stationary, but a very very small amount. I belieive it uses about 0.2. The strange thing is that when you put any revs on whilst being stationary the fuel useage goes down... I'll have a look at that and try and correct it. I'm going to overhaul the fuelUsage calcuation to include cars that you're not in, but have the engine switched on.

 

Vehicle tracking, leave the vehicle and press Y once you are outside of it.

 

You cannot see if you're refueling? The fuelGauge needle should move relative to the amount of fuel in the car? I'll have a look at the Control + Q error and why it seems to happen.

There is no clear readme, so a noob wouldn't know how to install it, other than going to the GTAGarage page... Even when you go to that page, it is not very clear where to put all things...

I'm not a noob myself, but I don't even know where to put that radar icon. sarcasm.gif

Also, you said that the package should contain userStations.pet, boatFuelStations.pet, carFuelStations.pet, heliFuelStations.pet and carDB.pet. Well, they're not in the package and I have no idea how to get them... whatsthat.gif

 

Another thing: The screens are very different. One is from the old version, another from a new version with real speedometer... You should remove old screens from GTAGarage and this topic. confused.gif

Oh and BTW the page on GTAGarage is out of date as it still says you need .NET scripthook version V0.891, while you need V0.893.

Ok dude... Looks like you are a big noob... The userStations.pet, boatFuelStations.pet, carFuelStations.pet, heliFuelStations.pet and carDB.pet are in the folder included in the mod all you have to do is put them in the scripts folder and turn on the game and press Ctrl-O..wow sarcasm.gif

Put the FuelModData folder in the scripts folder and the jkFuelmod.ini and jkFuelMod.net.dll in the scripts folder.

 

Run game and press Control + O

Read a few post back just before your original complaint Dvt-MedShot, and you'll learn that the mod got updated and the database changed to .xml.

Granted the first post should be updated to reflect the file change, but as GangstaKilla is far too busy improving the mod for the rest of us and for an official v3 release, which would likely consist of a proper updated file package with the blips and readme. The current release is in BETA due to popular demand.

 

As for now, just :

 

Put the FuelModData folder in the scripts folder and the gkFuelmod.ini and gkFuelMod.net.dll in the scripts folder.

 

Run game and press Control + O and Control + J

thanks Gangsta Killa for finnaly updating the mod, i can finally use it! its nice so far, but i think the guages are too big (maybe just the speedo)..

 

but i am having a problem, i dont have any icons on my radar for fueling stations, i just drove around until i found a station on my own which had the red and yellow circled areas. i downloaded the radar_fire pump icon, but i have no clue what to do with it, or if it even is what my problem is.. u didnt say what to do with it in the OP, or on GTAGarage.

 

let me kno what u think about it, its annoying just driving until i find a station.. and i think its prolly something i did wrong.

 

anyway, thnx for the cool mod wink.gif

Since the mod is currently in beta status. I haven't really had the time to do a decent read me or remember to note all the changes. Well you'll be please to know that testing loading the gauge images from outside an embedded script went fine. I'm now in the process of constructing a gauge framework to allow gauges to be created, modified and easilly added to the mod.

from what i tested, it worked great, i saw no errors on my end, and glad the old bug i had with the car refueling when i let go of w is gone biggrin.gif.

i have little problem with the mod, the speedo thingy is working but rpm and fuel aint, rpm and fuel stands still.

Werid, the status lights on the speedo should indicate when something is wrong. When you first start the game and the mod isn't loaded after entering a car then both the red/yellow engine will be lit up as the mod hasn't grabbed the damage of the car yet. Also the fuel light should be on as the fuel hasn't been calculated yet.

 

Although the RPM gauge should work without the mod being switched on. Only if the vehicle's engine is moving. Strange.

im having that wierd problem with benches and newspaper boxes.. i didnt mention it before because i thought it might have went away, but its really annoying because its a bit more severe than i read others are having. all of the benches in the game are replaced with carwash parts (the brushes, the moneybox, the rails, all but the physical building), and everywhere that there is a newspaper box i have the gates that open and close (the toll gates at the bridge and airport), plus one side of the airport is lacking the gates at the entrance. also, my carwashes are not working.

 

prior to your v3 release, i had tried both previous ones and all three of the previous scripthooks, but none worked. but for some reason, after trying the mod and it not working before, my game became dependant on the ScriptHook.dll to be in the game folder, otherwise it would give me an error saying the game failed to start because "ScriptHook.dll" was not found. this leads me to believe that whatever the scripthook messes with (to cause these glitches), it mustve permanantly done it, my reason for believing is the failure to start without the DLL.

 

i dont know if its a problem you fix, Hazzard fixes, or if anyone can, but id like to know if it is fixable, and if anyone else is having this problem. its really annoying because my framerate drops when i near parks because there are 30 carwashes lined up a row on each side that all have the yellow "Use" arrows, and they all say to pull up to pay if i get close to them..

 

 

p.s. another odd glitch i had a while back, it happened only once, but at the airport where the small dummy planes are lined up, there are two empty lots, and this one time i went there the lots had two dummy planes in them, i could drive and walk right through them, and there was a stripper dancing on an invisible pole near the front of both planes. it was rather amusing for a little while, because i could knock the stripper down and then she would just 'pop' back into position dancing on the plane tounge.gif

do you by any chance adding a vehicle to your gta?

if you do/alter same .ide file, that thats the problem i think.

dammit, i cant bowl either.. which means i cant complete the FIRST DATE mission..

even removing the ScriptHook and all the scripts dont fix it, whatever messes with it messed it up for good sad.gif

 

edit: well i unmodded the game, i replaced all the original everything, took out ALL ASI and .NET script mods, clean original files, but i still cant use the carwash, the benches are still carwash parts, newspaper boxes are still toll gates, bowling still dont work, and i still cant do the FIRST DATE mission.. looks like i now have to reinstall the game and start over if i want to be able to do the missions. f**k...

The scripthook and vehicle mods wouldn't cause anything like that. It sound's like a map IDE or IPL has been edited or corrupted hence the replacement parts everywhere.

I have a problem that: When Niko on foot I push button "Q" to take cover but the fuel mod says error found.
