Trouble007 Posted February 22, 2009 Share Posted February 22, 2009 First, your GPU is too weak to handle max or high settings, You have to OC your CPU in order to get extra 10-15 FPS, You have to add new GPU, I can advice you for the HD4850, or the HD4870 1GB, in order to play on max settings.Note: sorry to say it but you don't have modern gaming rig, my GPU is the worst GPU that you can consider as a gaming one. So you tell me I just invested $650 on a pice of sh*it that I have to OC well dont I feel like a dumb ass WOW, It is just the GPU that won't let you play high-end games like Crysis and FC2, In order to play GTAIV you have to buy an air cooler, the 4870 1GB+air cooler should cost some 230$. Not wat i was wanting to spend, can you tell me what g-card would do best to run gta iv with eveything on high and have 20-30 fps get a 8800gt dude, its an old card but they perform real well in gta for some reason, you can pick one up used on ebay for like £60 - $120? and btw you rig isnt rubbish like some people might imply, its only this game that needs a stupid amount of hardware to make it run right, you will be able to play with the 30fps with a 8800gt. lol I kno about e-bay thats where I got my first g-card I was thinkin that too or just get a 9800gtx for a lil more, but ill look into it some more before I decide to buy i had a 1gb 9800gt and got rid of it for a 260gtx, all off ebay saved a fortune. check your memory settings to dude, i edited my above post make sure you are running in dual channel mode. ok ill pull it up and take a pic and post it EDIT: I had gta iv on when I took this thats not the version i got mate. try this one hereand just see if its on dual or single on the memory tab. but sounds like the driver has sorted it out anyway!! whats your benchmark scores and game running like now?
