How does Johnny compare to Niko?

I haven't been able to play this yet but I am curious as to how Johnny compares to Niko as a main character.

Is he just as much as a Badass or does he not really live up to Niko?

 

Who do you prefer of the two???

 

Put down some good and bad points please.

Johnny seems to suffer more guilt then Niko. I prefer Johnny tho, I think i can relate to him more

johnny is a badass, when you walk around with a gun people run, when i walked around with niko nobody ran. johnny handles bikes better, but he runs slower. johnny is the more bad of the two

I prefer Johnny over Niko, however, they really need to find better voice actors, because the voices for both of them are stupid. Niko's is very fake sounding and Johnny's sounds very forced when he is trying to be gruff. There are times when the actors real voice comes through and he sounds much better, they should have just gone with that. Or even switching Billy and Johnny's voices, they would go better based off of how the two look. I would like to see a patch for those who have TLAD that allows you to use the new weapons and vehicles with Niko, as well as some new clothes. Thats what disappointed me the most. I also burned my G*ddammed hand on the controller while trying to arm wrestle, have a nice blister there now. Should sue the bastards...

They both realize that life is pain and niko lost his brothers long time ago when he served in the war... johnny lost his recently viva at the end of the game

I haven't even played it yet and Johnny already looks more appealing.

 

I like Niko, but I'm getting tired of the double standards we've been seeing with protagonists like him and Vic. They just constantly complain about killing people, which doesn't suit. "Oh no, I can't kill this dude. He may be a dick, but it wouldn't be right." Yet I'm sure they'd be more than happy to rush off and blow up a bus full of nuns or something.

 

Johnny looks like the kind of guy who really couldn't give a sh*t who he kills and will eliminate anyone who gets in his way, unless that person is of some sort of value to him.

 

But there are similarities between them. Both their stories are tragedies, which is why this game is much grittier and more sinister than the previous games. The whole thing is one big tragedy, set in the darkest and coldest locale of them all. Values mean nothing. The American Dream is nothing but a metaphor for "disaster."

 

But, uh, yeah. Getting ahead of myself here. Johnny seems more appealing because he fits the GTA mold better.

I like Niko more hands down.

 

Johnny is definitely more bad ass though, he will kill anything that causes an issue for him- and not just when your controlling him it seems.

from what ive played niko is fitter than johnny. johnny cant jump as high(i think) and definatly doesnt run as fast, also it might just be ive lost my touch as i hadnt really played it a lot recently, but i remeber not dieing as easily as i would with johnny. i have to get armour and full health in a gang mission which is ussually about 10 people to kill wheras with niko i remember going guns blazing into the last mission with just a tad of health. the point im trying to state here, is i think niko has more health than johnny

I kinda sorta noticed that-

 

Not sure if its true, or if its just a mental thing when playing but I felt like Johnny died a lot easier and lost health a lot easier.

Johnny disappointed me as a protagonist. Of all the Lost members, Billy is the only guy who strikes me as a real 1%er Biker. Johnny is reluctant to act, and bitches a lot (lil' less than Niko).

 

He even says to Billy to focus on Business instead of Respect, no real Biker would say that because Respect on the street = money

 

He's cooler than Niko, but still too soft IMO...He bitches when Billy smashes that mechanic in the face with a hammer which is totally not in Character with a badass Biker. He should have laughed, that woulda made for a better Biker...

I do agree- Johnny is #4 on my top protagonist list right now and I haven't played either of the stories games- basically he's second to last besides CJ..
