For those who say it won't be relesed: On what platform do you play GTA IV?

PC. And nobody said GTA IV will *not* be released on PC, they just acted mute. But for the DLC they *said* it will be a X360 exclusive.

They *said* GTAIV PC=built from ground up,They*said* higher settings are reserved for future machines,They *said* only 1% of the community is having technical problems

I proudly play GTA 4 on the PC and I love it and take pleasure in the fact I bought 2 copies of the game for the PC. To my mind there is no finer gaming platform on the planet. However having said that it doesn't change the fact that Microsoft are c*nts and do not particularly want to help the PC as a gaming platform in any way because they see it as a competitor to their sh*tbox. It's MS you have to thank for the 7 month delay in you playing GTA 4 on the PC and it will be MS you have to thank for the DLC not coming to the PC.

Well ultimately its Microsoft's decision and i believe that its a better possiblilty that PC gets it over PS3 but i doubt it due to the fact its so easy to pirate sh*t online. Sorry boys...

 

But if you do get TLAD it wont be for a while. microsoft want to make money off of the game obviously because they paid out their asses for it. I think they believe if they put it on pc right off the bat 360 owners will run to their pc's and pirate the game instead of paying the price of the product. i KNOW some of you PC GTA'ers are loyal and say you will pay for the game and i believe you (some of you lol) but microsoft is going to pick strategic buissness planning over its fanbase. That goes with any corp...

Well GTA games has always been late to arrive for the pc..normally after at least 6 months from the console release..but that was in the past..I just hope the DLC will still be released for the PC or at least a Retail, which i think is better...i wont mind waiting for another 6-8 months for Lost and Damned..At least its out! But if not..then i don't thin so i'ma purchase GTA 5 on pc again down the future..i mean..what if GTA 5 expansion packs will be Sh*tBox 720 exclusive at taht time? then i wont't be able to play it again...

basically he said that Microsoft approached Rockstar with dev money to produce a mission pack that would be exclusive to the 360

 

so with that said, this isnt Rockstars decision

you never know MS might decide to release it

but im not holding my breath

Rockstar need to sort GTA IV for the PC out first, get everything spot on, which will take quite sometime before even considering TLAD for PC.

I voted Yes on TLaD. My reason is somewhat the same as others because I also read the article where it was said "loyal paying customers will be able to get DLC and other features that pirates won't" ( ok I shouldnt have quoted that, but it was pretty close). I'm trying to find that article but am having a hard time in doing so. That doesent mean we''ll get the SAME exact content, but it could. I understand Microcrap paid money, but exclusives have a timeframe sometimes, and with rockstar bitching that 50mil isnt going to be enough for to make a profit, I think down the road we will see more DLC. They already have the game running on PC, most of the hard work is done, why wouldn't they want to make some more money down the line. Thats the same reason I think we'll see future gta's is because the engine is already there, it just needs optimising as time goes on, and as time goes on hardware gets cheaper and faster.Also with GFWL they are making the market place for PC so theres a few signs that point to a chance of DLC .

I've been dissapointed in some of the people in these forums for a while now, because most act so immature. I was here when the console version of GTA IV came out and the "will gta IV be on PC" was the most popular thread here. People were much more optimistic, finding every clue and analyzing it. It was a much more positive enviornment, still had its trolls, but thats forums. Then when the PC version came out there was so much disrespect to rockstar even when they were trying to help. So many useless hate threads and pointless rants. How do you think this makes the community look. Rockstar probably ignores most of the flamming but I'm sure it gets to some of them. I know not everyone post on these forums, especially if the game is running great for someone they may never come here, but when asking for tech help I think it would be a good idea to put the anger aside and act respectful.

If I'm not mistaken, the original Gears of War was promoted as an XBox exclusive yet it came to PC.

 

In the end, Lost & Damned will probably stay XBox exclusive until sales start to drop off, at which point they'll release it for PC. I think the most sensible option for Rockstar is keep XBox exclusivity until say a year after the 2nd DLC is released, and then combine both DLC and release them as an official expansion pack for PC. That way it won't detract from XBox sales, especially if they don't reveal their PC plans, they get a new revenue stream when XBox sales start to dry up, and by a year after the 2nd DLC, Microsoft's marketing for XBox will be focused on GTA V, so they probably wouldn't care if former XBox exclusive DLC is released on Windows. Rockstar could also throw Microsoft a bone by heavily tying it into and marketing a PC expansion as part of Games for Windows - Live, which may be floundering now that it's boss was fired.

I can't help but notice that in the answer about the DLC coming to PC that he didn't give a no it will not be coming to PC, he did say it was a 360 exclusive but didn't give a solid no to it coming to PC. Seems similar to the "we aren't working on a PC version" remark after GTA4's launch but perhaps I'm reading too much into it.

Maybe he meant to say "we aren't working very hard" or "we aren't really trying"?

Okay doke since people just want to use this as another "bash GTA 4" topic I think it is fair for me to say you are all talked out on the subject of the DLC. So I am going to do what I should have done a few days ago and locked this.
