Nice! An amazing piece of work! icon14.gif

I guess you are basically reading the bone position for the head and position a custom camera accordingly? How were you able to use GET_PED_BONE_POSITION? It doesn't work for me when i pass in a Vector3 pointer. confused.gif

No vectors, I tie objects to the bones and get their relative positions.

Yes thats it. You could scrape your nose off on some corners with the nrg. colgate.gif

The camera stays glued to your face. It eliminates a lot of the clipping issues fp mods can have while also adding a level of realism.

For instance you bend down and look at the hot wire position when hot wiring.

Slamming of in the breaks hard will jolt you.

hi,

i really like this mod biggrin.gif

i hope you can fix the following bug: when i press the right mouse-button on the right frontseat (in order to destroy the window and shoot) the game crashes. If I press the right mouse-button on the backseats everything works fine.

Thank you for reporting that. I will check it out.

actually, the first person camera stays a bit when you hit something and get ejected out of the car. So it's possible, and has to be great.

EDIT :

After trying it while having an accident, and leaning with a bike, the camera should definitely turn with the head, like if the player is upside down, the camera should too.

@HippieCommunist Ill look into on foot first person but the games controls aren't set up very well for it when your not aiming. You cant strafe.

@Borocay I had that problem in mind when making this. But if you prefer a static rotation on the games chase camera it is possible.

I was even considering having the view look into corners , sort of the opposite of what chase camera does right now.

@yeahsine Its a good point, after a certain amount of roll the camera should probably roll too.. Like when your stuck on your roof.

@Pandur That might be useful if your using mouse driving. Are you using this? If you only have a keyboard try bikes with the mouse

You get a nice cruising feeling you cant get normally. I use a gamepad but found the mouse driving quite addictive. I found i could counter steer out of trouble more accurately then with the keys. I started out on a ps3 pad But then when the pc version came out and the bad patch I was on keys for a while so I know what I was missing.

Amazing! But there's no inverted Y axis user posted image

Also, the auto-center is annoying me  sarcasm.gif

Oh well. But still a great mod!

Do you have your Y axis inverted in the game options? If so i believe it could be detected and applied. As for autocenter you can disable it easy with notepad.

Open up FirstPersonDriver.ini with notepad and change

AutoCenterLR = 1 to 0 if you dont want it to autocenter left to right

AutoCenterUD = 1 to 0 if you dont want it to autocenter up and down.

CenterTime = 2000 change to a higher number if it begins to autocenter to fast after the last mouse or joystick input or just ignore if you disable the previous two.

If you totally disable auto center you can still center the view by tapping capslock twice (enabling and disabling mouse steering)

I personally ride with autocenter up down off.

Autocenter is disabled for passengers automatically.

Yet another cracker from one of the leading GTA 4 mod gurus..

Going to install this now and give it a go. I'm a big fan of first person driving - really creates a realistic feel to the game.. This mod looks like it wil enhance that feeling even more.

Thanks for your hard work C06alt.
