Ughhh
Dell Dimension 4500 (old ass computer) Pentium 4 2.4Ghz NVIDIA 7600GT (Drivers fully updated) 1GB RAM No mods Windows XP SP2 Enough free space on the HD I downloaded GTA San Andreas off of the EB Games site (LEGAL DOWNLOAD). I got the EXE then the two huge archive files. It gave me the famous Catastrophic Failure (search it if you dont know bout it). So I downloaded EVERY file again. The EXE, and the two archive files. Still is giving me the same error. My graphics card drivers are fully updated like I said, I did it today to make sure. I have a legal copy. There are no drives involved so none of that typical advice applies to me. if Im sounding selfish here its because Ive been tryna get this game installed for about 8 hrs now. Also I turned off all my extra programs like firewall and antivirus. Edited February 18, 2009 by Ughhh
Girish
A catastrophic failure generally hints at corrupt game files. I don't have any personal experience downloading games, but I'm sure it's not an issue at your end. There's a chance that one or more of the files in the archive is corrupt. Can you contact EB Games about this?
Ughhh
Will do. I know I should contact em but I figured GTA players would know better than them lol. I just tried booting in safe mode too, that didnt work.
Ughhh
I sent em an email 24 hrs ago and they still never answered. Anyone have any ideas? I really wanna play this game.
Ughhh
They sent me two useless emails that were exactly the same. Terrible support.. And I still never got a refund. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem on my end? Im doubting its a problem on my end tho lol.
Ryan
I can't think of anything that would fix the problem on your end. Do you have an EB Games in your local town? If so I'd try going to their store and complaing. Aside from that I can't really think of anything else that will help the situation.
Blizzard14
Sue them for being assholes.
Ryan
Sue them for being assholes. No. Just, no. It would be stupid to sue them considering the bill for the lawyer would be more then the price of the game. If EB Games are gonna be ass hole's and not help you, I'd say just go hop down to Wal-Mart and pick up a copy of San Andreas.
