Missions we want..?

Thought I would create this thread to find out what missions people would most like to see in GTA: Next.

Nothing specific, just in general, so for me:

1. Casino Heist:

The 'Casino Heist' in San Andreas remains my all time favourite GTA mission, and I would love to see another one of these. After hearing everyone talking about the 'Bank Robbery' mission in IV, I thought that would take its place.. but it didn't. It was just a 'smash 'n' grab' job.

I thought the 'Casino Heist' was brilliant though. Dressing up as a member to get into the restricted access areas. Opening the doors for the van. Loading the van with the money. Fighting in pitch black with night vision on. Parachuting off the roof. Escaping by getaway car.

Classic.

2. 'Speed' type mission:

Anyone remember that mission from Vice City, where you were driving that limo for 'Love Fist' (right name?), and you had to stay above a certain limit or the car would explode. If not, have you ever seen 'Speed?' I think this would be a perfect mission for GTA.

3. Hi-jacking a plane:

I like this idea for two reasons:

1. I think it would be cool. You and your buddies (whoever they are), book a flight over the internet. Then you go aboard the plane and sit down while the plane takes off. Then, at the appropriate time, you all get up and hi-jack the plane. (I have no idea why this would be a mission, but that depends on the storyline. By the way, it's not meant to be a terrorist attack, for anyone who may be offended).

And 2. I think that this could be the mission where the main character learns how to fly.

Think about it, during the hi-jacking; the pilot gets killed, and the co-pilot gets blinded by gun powder exploding in his face or something? (Saw that on 'The A-Team'). Then, you take the controls of the plane, with the blinded co-pilot giving you instructions on how to fly the plane. (These would come up on the top-left corner of the screen like all instructions in GTA games.

And viola, the main character can now fly planes.

So, any missions that you would like to see? (And remember, no specifics, especially as we don't know where or what the next GTA will be..)

R* Would have to make it that we hijack a private plane, or else they will be yelled at by more stupid watchdog groups, this time for " training terrorists "

How about a prison break? Either you are thrown in the joint and escaping or you're freeing somebody else.

When Sweet got locked up in SA, one of the first things I was thinking was "man, it would be cool if I end up going in and busting him out." Of course that didn't happen.

They like to base thier big missions on film don't they? I am not a big film fan, but my brother was watching Heat, and the bank job scene was VERY similar to the IV bank job. The last mission in Vice City was similar to the final shoot out in scarface. And I have never seen the old one, but the Casino heist was very Oceans 11 in terms of planning recruitment, disguises etc. This could extend to what movie scene should have a mission based on it?

My favourite missions from all of the games are:

The Black Project from SA.

Both Bank Jobs - VC and IV

OG Loc's Party - where it goes off big time in Grove street

Casino Heist - SA

Final mission in VC

Basically anything with a monster shoot out, I would like more of these from Next. I also like the races, and Hijacking sounds good.

I would love to see a "Gone in 60 Seconds" type mission. I know we've touched on it in other GTAs before, but I would like to see one almost like the movie.

Say you get a deadline to steal 20 vehicles, and each vehicle has a different scenario in which to steal it, and you can take a crew to steal each one. To find each vehicle you have a laptop computer, and you look up the location of each vehicle.

Also you have to take them back to a container ship, and for the last one have some epic chase like in the movie (I'm talking about the remake with Nicholas Cage).

If there are planes in the next gta i would like to see you flying to another city like the one in san andreas when you fly to liberty city.

I really enjoyed that mission. wink.gif

Meh, "St. Mark's Bistro" was underwhelming. You do all that only to go to this one solid half-acre of Portland and shoot a bunch of guys then come back. Yawn. I know, hardware/storage limitations, but still....it would've been nice to have gone back to Liberty to do something else besides reduce its population by a dozen or two.

Now if we could fly in between two fully functional cities like that, then great.

I wouldn't mind seeing a stealthy mission, where you get to use a silenced pistol, a knife and various equipment for sneaking around and getting from one place to another.

The lack of stealth in GTA IV was a downfall, and as much as I love IV, I just wanted a mission where you could just sneak around and hide in the shadows.

(Like the mission on SA...Madd Doggs rhymes)

One might say if you want stealth, play MGS or Splinter Cell or something. But I thought the stealth missions in SA were cool except for one thing - it was just as easy if not moreso in most cases to f*ck off stealth completely and do it Rambo style, which is pretty much the modus operandi of many a GTA mission. This was especially true of "Amphibious Assault" where you can just climb up on the rocks and fire heatseeking RPGs at the boats before getting on the bigger ship where you can just start blowing people away.

So yeah, I'd like stealth, but only if stealth turns out to be the path of least resistance, so to speak.

Ok, good ideas. I actually meant to put stealth on there but forgot.

Stealth:

O.G Loc's mission where you had to sneak inside Madd Dog's mansion and steal the rhyme book. That was pretty good. Plus, that would enable us to have silenced weapons.

Or, the other two big stealth missions.

1. Where you had to sneak into the army base and steal a jet pack. Unrealistic though for the new theme of GTA.

2. When you had to sneak through the army ship and steal the jet plane.

I would like something like that aslong as its not unrealistic.

Maybe you have to sneak into a huge compound of a big crime boss (or someone), and steal some documents (or something) for someone.

Prison Break:

This good be a brilliant mission.Someone you know (whether it be a relative, a friend, or whoever), has been imprisoned. It could go something like this.

1. You must follow a prision guard from the prison to his home. Then you must break into his house, kidnap him and steal his uniform.

2. After you have kidnapped him, you force him to give you a passcode to get into the prison.

3. Then you walk into the prison and work your way around towards the cells.

4. You find your man and escort him down by the back of the kitchens into the loading bay (silencing any guards you pass on the way).

5. Your buddies show up in a van disquised as a food delivery van.

Any then two things could happen; either you slowly drive out and avoid police detection.

Or, the prison guard realise whats happened and a massive gun fights erupts, followed by a car chase.

Omnia sunt Communia

I prefer the more direct approach to prison break-outs. Smash-and-grab, so to speak. You may want to sneak in to the holding area, either via pretending to be a visitor, or a guard; but on the way out I want there to be a full on fire fire.

I'd imagine it being a case of you sneaking around the place, until you find your friend's cell. You knock out the guard and steal his keys. Unlocking his cell, and everyone else too, you start a full-scale prison riot.

You make your way to the "Property Room" or something similar, to steal back your friend's stuff. Then you find the guard's armoury. Arming yourself to the teeth, you blast your way out to a helicopter that's waiting to pick you up at the prison wall.

Member the correctional prison in IV? Well if you wen in and cuased a shoot out, prisoners would come bursting out, and jacking cars to escape. I think it would be cool for DLC for there to be some kind of prison breakout there, possibly to let gerry escape?

i would love to see a mission cutscene were something increddibly gory happens for e.g. Your in this factory and there's a moving conveyor belt and the conveyor belt leads to this machine that grinds rocks and the baldes are razor sharp. And then mabey you have a fight on the conveyor belt and you punch this guy and he falls on to it. He beggs for help and you need to scare him so much that he reveal information lets say. Once he has done that you have a choice you can shoot him in the arm and a cutscene will begin with him danggling helplessley over these blades. If you choose to kill him your character will shoot him in the arm and you will see him getting minced up and crying for help blood squirts everywhere. Just one mission like that would be quite good.

There wouldn't be a problem with a mission or two like that. It'd be a little like "The Meat Business" in SA.

I would love to see missions while in prison. Let's say the protagonist got caught with some criminal charge and had to go to prison. In order to get out of prison, you have to do 10 missions in there and the final mission is to break out of prison. So here's my prison missions:

Mission 1: Settling in.

Not much action, just a tour around the prison.

Mission 2: Hustle. Loyalty. Respect.

You basically have to beat up some of your prison mates for a guy who's kinda has connections in the prison to earn respect.

Mission 3-6: Befriend the foe.

You have to do favors for the warden to be a friend of him.

Mission 7: Smuggling in.

You have to call your friends outside and asked them to bring you stuff for the use of breaking out of prison like guns and bombs. In order to smuggle, you will need to track through a tunnel where the weapons will be located but you can't go out because guards are outside at the end of the tunnel.

Mission 8: Get a crew.

Assembly 5 men to break out with. You can assembly anybody but you are given from 15 men to choose from. You then asked the warden for a favor of touring you around the guards area. You have to plant a bomb there secretly.

Mission 9: RIOT!

You cause a fire at a guard station with a remote detonated bomb thus causing a huge riot between the prisoners and the guards. You and the 5 men managed to break out of prison and hijacked a van.

Mission 10: Free and wanted.

You lost the cops for now. You kill the 5 men because they will slow you down and sometimes be a rat. Now everytime the cops see you, you will always get 2 wanted stars.

After mission 10, it will be awhile when the cops couldnt give a sh*t about you so the 'always get two stars' will be gone in few missions later on.

Im actually quite a huge splinter cell fan, not so much MGS.

But I see where you are coming from, people tend to do it "rambo" style as the guards AI is crap and they just tend to stand in one place. Whilst I was doing madd doggs rhymes, I couldn't actually do it stealthily the first time as the guard was stuck and was walking into a wall righ out side of the shadowed room =/

but with IV's AI it would be incredible.

@ jacky Fiend: I love your ideas on "smash & grab", there was a few missions in SA where you had to pretend to be someone else, and I loved the Tunnell of death mission on IV, really fun, innovative type mission.

1. Prison Break:

You blow open the first gate and then ram a truck through the second. About 20 men storm the prison and kill many guards. You reach the cell block and come acroos a prisoner riot and fight many of them too. You get the people you are gonig to break out to the roof after fighting N.O.O.S.E and police. Once you reach the roof, an escape chopper arrives but crashes. So you have to steal a prison bus with a 5 star and escape. No very original but what the hell.

2. Assassination In the Sky:

You go to kill a political target and you fight through his compund tot he helipad. He takes off in his chopper and you grab onto the bottom. His guards fire shotguns at you as you start a frantic button mashing mini game to hold on and climb aboard. Then you must keep the tapping gonig as you wreslte a gun from one of the guards. Then it goes to first person and kill the guards in the back fo the chopper, and accidently shoot the pilot. Back to third person, a cutscene starts whee you execute the target nad just as the chopper is about to exlode into a building, you dive from it into the sea.

3. Ambush:

A witness is being transported and you steal a truck and attack the convoy. You use the truck to flip two police cars and use an RPG to blow up a N.O.O.S.E van at the front of the convoy, while another truck blocks the rear. Then you kill loads of guards and move in on the witness. The prison van then drives off, flips the truck and you are forced to chase it. As your teammate drives up to it, you jump on the van, kill the cops and drive away. In the chase your can flips, and you kill any chasing cops and finish off the witness. All this followed by a 4 star getaway.

4. Chaser:

You follow a limo in a chopper and shoot at it as it frnatically swerves through traffic. You crash into it and it flips. Kil the remainder, blah blah blah.

5. Possible Last Mission:

You arrive at a dockyard where about 60+ enemy men who are defending the guy you are after (betrayed you, whatever) and you kill them all. Then the police arrive and you kill them. A chase through the dock as you follow the traitor and the police follow you. He reaches a boat and you get a chopper and you follow him. The police shoot you and him down and the chase contiues as he runs into the subway. You cahse him and he boards a train. Grabbing a motorbike you follow the trian, shooting at his boadyguards leannig from the subway. Finally you board the train, kill the driver and it derails, crashing out of the elevated tracks, and into the beach. Just as you use your bike to finally chase him, you shoot him off his bike and a execution cutscene follows.

6. Boom!:

And enemy's convoy stop at a petrol depot which is rigged with explosives. You wait atop a building, take out the sentrys with a sniper and when the convoy tries to leave, you blow the charges, resulting in a massive explosion that destroys about 8 cars 2 trucks and 50+ men.

Phew, that's a lot.

U R B A N I T A S

More missions like Three Leaf Clover or To Live and Die in Alderney.

If there is one mission that I sm absolutely dying to see and it's one that I loved doing 50 times over in Kane and Lynch(Yes, I love K&L, sue me) and that mission is a prison break. It'll be cool if you got a group of guys together and had to bust Gerry out or some kind of high profile mob boss

I would like some missions that you cannot do twice (only the missions that won't affect the main story line.) For example:

1.) Niko (or another protagonist) looks for a person and chases him down on foot. You run through various buildings/houses and attempt to catch him. If you fail the mission, you just don't get any money; the story doesn't change.

In some cases, failing the mission doesn't really matter anyway. It forces you to think, " I better do this right. I only have once chance." If you do fail to complete a message, you could simple get a text saying, "I'll find someone else to finish the job."

---

1.) Niko and friends rob a bank, but it goes horribly wrong. The building is surrounded by police; there is no where to go. They attempt to break a hole in the basement and escape through a hole into another building. They take off their ski-masks, leave their guns, and exit the building. Then, they eventually drive past the front of the bank, passing the twelve cop cars surrounding the building. They make out with the money; mission passed.

-When you don't have alot of money in the beginning, you have to go to various shops and rob money to give to a Boss.

-A mission that would take place over the span of a week. During a certain time, you would call your friend to start it again, or to finish it. Like you could only do it during the night time.

- It would be cool if you had to break out of a jail

It would be pretty cool if they did put some Metal Gear Solid features in a Grand Theft Auto game like stealthing around and leaning on walls to see whats behind the door.

1. Casino Heist:

2. 'Speed' type mission:

3. Hi-jacking a plane:

good ideas wizard!

the first one i'm really down with, that sh*t in san andreas was exciting and funny, plannin' it and getting all the sh*t together to make it.

the 2nd idea i'm not too sure about, i mean, the love fist mission was kind of easy, just rollin down that looong road. turnin' - rollin' back - bomb disarmed. was too easy. the only thing that was funny about it: the dialogues.

the 3rd idea: yes ya'll! i really liked the stowaway or n.o.e. (can't remember the name now) for torino, fightin' these agents up in the sky, knocking some outta the plane, jumping and leaving the rest exploding in the sky. very entertaining.

the bank heist in gta 4 was a huge improvement to the one in vice city. only thing they should change here in the next gta:

maybe 2 replaceable characters that CAN die without failing the mission, but more important:

your pals shouldn't stop shooting and defending once they reached he streets, cuz this is what packie and derrick do once you hit the streets coming outta the subway: absolutely nothing!

mission ideas:

-some missions should be like the trailers show:

f.e. niko is riding on a bike - next cutscene a helicopter (whose pilot is MOST LIKELY NIKO) flying low thru the streets shooting - and it all looks like you being chased by a helicopter like that.

a mission should be like this.

and car chases shouldn't be programmed too much, there are lots of in gta 4, the way someone escapes from you should be given by coincidence

-maybe a boss mission like in some old ego shooter-games or something, what i mean:

getting into a skyscraper, startin in the garage getting upstairs shooting your way thru them guards like in "late checkout" but having more police trouble afterwards.

Now i'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, or if it has been done numourouse times. If so, please close it, i dont want to be a pain in the backside.

Now anyway, more to the point if this topic is not locked, then feel free to make your own mission here. Just start of by the name of the mission and name of the character and what happens in the mission. I look forward to reading all of them.

e.g of how you should lay it out.

Name of mission here:

Person1: blah blah blah

*name of character* ok ok ok... etc.
