ah0i.bRAuSe Posted February 18, 2009 Share Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) so.. i've a quite hugh problem -.- ic played gta 4 once after buying it on release and completed the story.. then i deleted my gamertag to make a new one. i played the game the second time and completed the story.. BUT now i recognized that this is buggy to explain it a bit more.. there are two achievements that can only be done when you do something with all your friends.. liberty city (5) and the other.. the first time i played the game i got these achievements on my old gamertag.. now its not possible to get them cause i recognized that something is bugged ingame.. i didn't kill dwayne and so i need to have all friends over 90%. normaly no problem (as i mentioned i got that achievement on my old gamertag) BUT.. dwayne is NOT my friend !! he stays in my phone book after finishing the game and i didn't kill him but i can't do activites with him. i can only call him and then his answering machine says that no one calls him.. i called him 30 oder 40 times and nothing happened .. in the stats menü he likes me 64% and i'm not able to higher that cause of that f*ckin bug i want the damn achievement but i'll never start the game for a third time to get it only cause the current hgame seems to be buggec -.- please can someone help me.. how can i get the two achievements without starting a new game ?? its really important to me and it sucks cause i can't do anything against that.. i think the trigger didn't happen as it should in the middle of the story regards ahoi.brause edit : damn.. @ some mod :plz edit the title to BUG not but Edited February 18, 2009 by ah0i.bRAuSe Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That would be so convenient if you can go back in time a little. I don't think it has anything to do with your gamer tag though dude. Maybe there is some other requisite? syrdax Posted February 18, 2009 Share Posted February 18, 2009 There's no bug with Dwayne, not for me and I don't think with anyone else so that means that what you are experiencing is not a bug, is more like "you-must-be-doing-something-wrong" thing. You sure you call at the right hours? Did you hit him or something? Scared him by shoting guns while driving him? (well I tested that and he doesn't scare like the ladies ). I was having a similar problem... I killed Playboy X, so then Dwayne should have sent Niko an e-mail to become friends and hang out and such… well, it never happened. Then I realized that Niko’s e-mail inbox was full; 40 e-mails are the limit apparently, which is what I had. So I deleted almost 20 e-mails, and then several more came in almost instantly, but none from Dwayne. I called Dwayne several times and only got his voicemail. Dwayne called Niko twice and asked if Niko had called him, and Niko always replied with “No, I hadn’t called you.” I checked the e-mail several more times, and Dwayne never sent the e-mail. I passed 9 more missions and did several activities with friends, and still Dwayne never sent the e-mail. Several game days passed. Finally, I decided to reload from a previous save and replay the mission The Holland Play… this time through though I deleted the e-mails first before killing Playboy X, then immediately after that I went to check for Dwayne’s e-mail, and this time it was there… Dwayne was asking to be friends with Niko. The question I have is, is this a glitch? If Niko’s inbox is full when he kills Playboy X, does that mean that Niko will never get Dwayne’s e-mail? Sorry, but that's incorrect... you can't do 'friends' activities with Dwayne until after the mission The Holland Play... Dwayne will only send the e-mail after Niko kills Playboy X, not before. I am not saying that playing the game is creepy. It is if your GOAL at playing is achievements. I think you know what I am talking about. That seems to be what he is upset about. syrdax Posted February 18, 2009 Share Posted February 18, 2009 I'm 39 After done with the story 3 times, you start to do/find/try some other stuff just for fun, and doing these achievements (I don't even know what can I do with the 1200gps I have) is sort of "part of the game". I'm not doing them for points or to get any medal/trophy (I just checked once to see what I have missing), I'm just doing them as part of the game towards completition (yes, I know that they don't count) but for me, is like they count, because you just get something out of doing it. It's the same thing for getting 100%. The story is done, what's the point of killing 200 piegeons if you only going to get something that you can obtain halfway game? What's the point of dating everybody everywhere? If the game "rewards" you one way or another when you do something, why not doing it? I don't think myself as a "youngin" just because I want to do something that the game allows me to do, I do find "youngish" to badly want some fingerless gloves just to make your gaming experience unique or... ... well, is so pointless at least for me to be such a desperate guy that seems you can't play the game without the damn gloves Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Must be something for the youngins. well.. i completed the story 2 times and did almost alle the others things.. so for what should i play the game if not for the achievements its fun getting something for playing and investing hours into a game.. i think its quite boring to invest hours of my life into a game and to not become anything back exept the fun while playing. achievements are also nice to remember weeks later how fun it was to achieve some things and ontopic : i never had 40 emails in my email account for sure so that cannot be the bug.. i'm calling throughout the whole f*ckin day and trying to reach dwayne (ingame day not real life rofl). and no i didn't have any other savegames before the story complete save cause i deleted all of them due to the fact that many savegames are irritating and i never thought that i'll become such a damn ingame bug the bug is not my fault so not keeping any previous savegames is also not my fault. i like to have only 3 saves which i update the whole time.. in each game and i never had any problem with that method so thanks for the answers.. but till now.. noone helped maybe someone know some other way ? Remember, Windows Live gathers the achievements from all save games in one, not just your main save. I never finished it with the PS3. Actually probably only finished a quarter of it. When I got the PC I didnt do any of that. I couldnt see a reason except to show people I accomplished it. Soooo dont care. As the game progressed I was waiting for it to force me to take them out by not letting me continue missions. I was happy to see it let me finish the missions. So what if none of the characters werent happy with me. I guess at my time in life these kind of things just dont seem to count as an accomplishment. My goals in life are just a little higher than showing other people online my medals or trophies or whatever. Online profiles or achievements mean zip to me. There are many people that live a second life (Sometimes first life) through their avatar. It just creeps me out for some reason. I guess it is for kids and people who take gaming all the way to the point of it being a second carreer......some take it as a full time job, a very bad paying job I might add. Enjoy your game, thats what its for. Dont worry what everybody else thinks especially me, we all have opinions, likes, dislikes, so on. Just givin my 2 cents. Was kind of curious how far other players of GTA go as far as accomplishments. Are they really important to many? Just curious. Wethospu Posted February 22, 2009 Share Posted February 22, 2009 I got a similar problem but with Manhunt. I heard this is pretty common problem that something becomes inaccessible. It's not really a big deal as I plan to replay the story anyways. For me, achievements are just like things to do (things which I do for the sake of doing them).
