completeidiot23
I was having a discussion with my Dad about the whole downloadable content. And he brought up a good point. I paid $35AU for something that I don't have a physical copy of. Hard drives crash, cd wear out and flash drives fade away. So if my hard drive on my Xbox dies do I have to re-pay for this downloadable content? Is it possible to move it to a flash drive then burn it on a DVD from my computer? Possible to download it of the web and burn to a DVD? Is it possible if I want to upgrade my 20GB hard drive to a larger one, move the files over? This is the first time I have paid for any download before, except for iTunes music (which I knew before hadn if I could copy and move around.) If I can't do anything with it but leave it on the hard drive on my Xbox. I can understand. Thank you
Enjoii
No, you don't have to pay again. The purchase is linked to your account. If a dinosaur ate your hard drive and you had to recover it onto a new hard drive, it would 'remember' the purchase and you could just download it again without paying. cimt
Nope, it's on your gamertag that you've paid for it. So you can download it again for free.

completeidiot23
Cheers guys. And I thought so, 'cos last night I accedently stopped the download. It said that I have purchased it and do I want to re-download. On the other hand iTunes is different. I bought an album and I thought it was downloading. So I went out come home and completely forgot I bought an album. Later on I relased that nothing downloaded. So I had to ring Apple to give the download again. Other wise I would have to pay for it. Thanks guys.
e2thejdot
Didn't you just say "CDs wear out"? So by that logic, wouldn't it make it the same as if its on a disc? Either way it can get ruined, like everything else in life. If you went out and bought a car and crashed it into a telephone pole.. would it make it better that you had bought the physical copy of the car? Doesn't seem to matter if it gets ruined either way. lol

Most CD/DVD/HDD nowadays a sturdy and durable. But all the time I read about people that don't back-up for a month then loose a months work. As for the car. Well if you smash it you did the damage to it. And if it gets weatherd, well you can do what ever is in your power to stop that. What the difference between buy a car and a "physical" copy of a car?? That was just my point. You can't back-up Xbox 360 games without some extra equipment and an Xbox that has been hacked in order to play it. So whether you downloaded this to your console or you bought it on a disc, if the disc was ruined.. it'd be the same thing as if the HD was ruined (and IF you couldn't re-download it, which you can). Either way you only got one copy, right? Where does it being a physical disc or not come into play?
