nannal
I'm looking to begin scripting, both for educative purposes and for, you know, fun!, but I know only the absolute basics. Anyone feel like helping me and anyone in my position out by proving links to basic tools and maybe some basic tutorials? I know I would be most grateful and I'm sure many other people would be too
Andrew
Learn either C# or VB.net programming languages, this will then give you a better understanding of scripting for any of the scripthooks (.net, C++) You can download the C# or VB.net express editions for free from microsoft. Nice time stamp Triple o Seven Anyway, I'm looking through an example script and I found Player.Character.ForceHelmet(bInvincible); Is there some large tree of commands (references, I don't know how to refer to them) I can leaf through (see what I did there, eh?) Andrew
Like I said your best bet is to download the .netscripthook and have a look through that. (you need visual c# express) There are example scripts within that which will show you how to use it. It contains plenty of easy to use functions. I'm going to go play for a while, see if i can make that nos button the game needs (press and you have five seconds of double speed, maybe i could toggle definition with it too, make things all blur-tastic) If anyone feels like teling me what "using System; using System.Windows.Forms; using GTA;" at the start of the example code means I would be grateful. Also Gangsta killa, im using the script hook examples as my starting point, learning as much as I can as quickly as I can --- New Bit --- "SET_CAR_HYDRAULICS" I assume about 50% of these were also in SA and never got removed, Right? Andrew
the using System;using System.Windows.Forms;using GTA; Are the libraries the program is using. Also allows you to access the functions from that librbary without prefixing it with the library. IE GTA.World.CreateCar() can just be World.CreateCar()
