HELICOPTER UPDATE OVERPOWERED!

This is a good idea from R* the choppers before were unrealistic this brings them back to reality.

 

Also related to this is how come you can fire assault rifles from the sides of choppers but you can't fire RPGs? If they R* fixed this problem then other choppers would be a lot more and useful atm they are good for transport.

Yeah these things are crazy in freemode I can see why they left them out. I've stolen loads of them from the police and although I dont grief people for the sake of it I've given a few away to people that have and there's really no counter for them apart from a lucky rocket or getting sniped. They really should have left in the old ones in freemode but I think they wanted LAD to be more of a driving/riding experience.

 

Getting hold of one is actually quite easy in freemode I can do it solo in about 15 mins with about a 50/50 chance, with another player I can 100% guarantee getting one in about 5 mins.

 

Weird thing is once 1 is stolen can't seem to get another to spawn, need to try it on 6 stars though.

 

I think once more people figure out how to get them you'll see why they left them out and alot of empty games with someone flying around in one.

Oh this sucks, really. Because in the original helicopter I could justify my helicopter-whoreing by telling the complainer to get in a heli and see just how hard it is to get a kill. But with this, it takes away any last scrap of honour that the helicopter had.

 

If the heli should get a buff, then it should only be a little more range on the bullets; as sometimes it looks as if you're drilling hundreds of holes into the target yet really you're not hitting it at all. Either that or giving the two bullet trails a closer cross-over point, since alot of the fighting takes place well within the range where the two (well..four) guns are firming from the sides instead of centring on the target.

The helicopter was always too weak IMO. Now it seems they might have made them too powerful. Either way, the Annihilator needed some improvements, but from what I am seeing, it looks like they're too one sided now. Stillt hough, looks like a hoot to blow some sh*t up with!

honestly its good fun and all.... the first 20 min game i went in i got 131 kills to 0 deaths. but its a little laggy.... it doesnt feel as satisfying other than shooting cars... which blow up in one hit, so you can take out an entire street.

 

its very very fun but i feel bad for the ground guys... as you can see it causes earthquakes and is almost un-escapable....

 

what do the other guys think about this? i want some pilots views and some ground guys views.... i can understand why they did it... because of people complaining the helicopters arent good for casual players.... but there is no way i can play teamdeathmatches anymore without the other team leaving... ive had to go to deathmatch where im ranked number one for trueskill with around 600 kills 0 deaths and only a few games played mwhahaha

As a Grand Theft Auto Pilot i have to say we got what we asked for.

 

We wanted rocket like weapons and we got it, we got explosive rounds.

 

I have to say these weapons are a fine touch for the Annihilator, a bit bad-ass but people love it when they're inside of one. Lets just answer a few common questions.

 

Why does the Annihilator have these rockets on them.

 

1. There not ''rockets'' there explosive rounds.

 

2. It is a Law / Army vehicle what else did you expect to have on it, daisy's?

 

How do i get one of these bad-ass Annihilators

 

1. The ones with the explosive rounds are only availible in TLAD DLC.

 

2. There in their usual spawn points like Vanilla GTA freemode but only for Team / Single Deathmatch

 

3. In SP (Single Player) one spawns on-top of the Algonquin police station up north top right of the island. Or when you get 4 stars lure the oncoming Annihilator to a building and try to make it get low as possible then snipe / shoot the pilot, and if your lucky the helicopter should land in one peice (This goes for the Police Maverick aswell) Shoot the S.W.A.T members then fly away and have fun.

 

4. The Annihilator is not in TLAD freemode, the only way to get it in freemode is to do the 4 star trick as stated in option 3

There are many ways to skin a cat and one of these ways is to take down an annoying noob flying an Annihilator in Freemode / Deathmatch

 

Simply find good cover or stay mobile, if you just respawn or only have a single weapon try and pop the pilot in the head or simply try and destroy the annihilator itself, but shooting the pilot will send any aircraft crashing in.

 

The other way is everyones favourite,

 

Either one.

 

Try and blow it down with an RPG or Fire a Grenade Launcher at the cockpit or through the doors of the chopper.

EDIT: I must say guys i do feel very sorry for the ground guys. No matter what postiion your in you got to know how to defend yourself and know what your doing.
